What the actual fvck... I started drinking specialty coffee like a year ago and thought you guys were gaslighting yourself into tasting all those notes. I just thought some were sweeter, some more sour, some more bitter. But I have tried cupping now and actually tasted few of those notes listed on the packaging! I could clearly and 100% taste the peach in my coffee... I believe you now, tasting the notes is NOT gaslighting yourself!
Thanks for this Cupping video. I've wanted to do this regularly and your video was clear and practical. As a side note, my Z1 arrives this week so I'll definitely be doing cuppings with it after 10 lbs of seasoning the CV2 burrs 🤣
Good video...Doing comparative tastings side by side of the same product is always a big advantage whether it be with Scotch, wine, beer, coffee, honey, olive oil etc... this way you're better able to hone in on the contrasts, similarities etc between them
I always wonder, how can you possibly taste many coffees back to back and taste the flavors without cleaning your mouth and palate with pure water to wash off flavors of previous coffee? Is there any explanation?
I wish I could taste coffee, lost 90% of smell and taste. This is why I only drink cappuccinos, I can enjoy that 10% of flavors left for me 😂 strangely I can tell if a coffee is bad mah or good, maybe dairies enhance those 10% left. If I drink espresso or filter alone, I get overwhelmed by acidity. And I'm some kind obsessed with coffee but I only rely on "technique" and love to learn those.

Great video, great explanations...
Interesting information!
Does it also work for espresso roasts that you want to use for espresso afterwards?
Absolutely!
@@DaddyGotCoffee great! I will try it this weekend :)
In conjunction with this video, could you please make one on the SCAA coffee tasting wheel.

I was secretly hoping for a Canadian hook, like “what’s coffee cupping all abooot?”
Pink Burr-Bone? 🤣
What’s the point of sipping like that? No one really drinks coffee that way 😂
So that you can incorporate your nasal cavities in order to taste the full scope of flavors of the coffee. He explains it at 7:18
@@darminhusicis that a thing? I think even for wine they don’t do that
