I have the 2020 XSE v6 and honestly, the camera is fine. Has good visibility at night, the quality is good enough. I feel like having a 4K backup camera that doesn’t even record is a bit overkill? You’re only looking at it for a few seconds anyway, as long as you can see cars/pedestrians clearly, you’re good.
Regarding the automatic start it's a good feature that the front that when you put your hand there it shuts off. One situation could be where you turn it on you don't get to the car quick enough and there's somebody else who wants your car hops in and drives the car. The shutdown mode is a good safety feature
Even still it's an additional feature for those who could use it. Like me. I had a 2022, and as soon as I woke up, I'd remote start it to warm up the car. By the time I got ready it was off already, but warmed up. Super useful. Now I have the 2023 (48,000$), and I just can't agree with alot of the complaints in this video. Maybe the 2020 was just smaller on the inside as well, for him to not have enough room for his leg lol. Or maybe the car was just to small for him!? The rear cam I would agree with but I never had the 2020, just the 2022 and 2023, and the rear cam is great on those.

I really understand some of his issues. However, I own a 2023 Camry XSE V6 (3.5-liter 301HP) fully loaded and I really like my car. It is possible that the 8th Generation that received the Refresh / Facelift in 2021 is slightly better than having a 2018, 2019 and 2020 year Camry. If you decide not to get a Camry, get a LEXUS ES, Audi A4, Chevrolet Camaro, or a Mazda CX-30, I dislike Hybrids but there is the Honda Accord as all their 2024 models are hybrids. Oh, Acura Integra too. Depends on you budget but they can be had under $50K.
First of all, this trim level today from dealership 2022 June, goes for about $40K plus, yes XSE, All issues with remote start is for Safety 110%, interior plastic side panels are for durability, if they had leather padded, you would have holes and tears after couple of years and also could handle spills , i have the TRD, not much difference, I love the Best Selling Mid Size Car, yes it's the Camry
The padding “bulge” is too excessive on the passenger side makes it have less room to sit comfortably, i have a jeep that has straight up flat plastic and its more comfy to sit in a narrow space. The TRD got the great looks and the v6 with the exhaust!!! I love the camry if i could i would go with a hybrid version of it
Ouch! Camry TRD. Okay it is still a Camry but as a Camry SE trim with a V6 plus lacking many amenities. I have a 2023 Camry XSE V6 fully loaded, without all the bolt-on body parts and an half-inch higher ground clearance. What I do like about the TRD are the larger front disc brakes and calipers plus caliper covers. The TRD would have been exclusive had Toyota given it a 5-speed manual transmission. I suppose as the Camry goes, cheaper way to obtain a V6 is getting the TRD. Enjoy!!!!
@BSpad No car is perfect (especially in this price range), so you need to balance what you will get and what you won't... But for me, I owned previously VW gti mk6/ Honda Accord/ Honda CRV... Usually, I was satisfied for the car from new till at least 4-5 years after... This time... I don't think so

I recently bought a 2023 XSE base without any package I am totally happy with it. I think you are just complaining too much about small things. But I do agree with you on the visor mirror not having a light which is kind of weird for a top trim.
I got a 2019 Camry SE and you were pretty spot on. I let my friends drive my car sometimes and I just hop in the back seat when I let friends drive because the front passenger seat is annoying especially with the narrow leg room. And the lane keep assist drives me insane when I try to switch lanes without my blinker and the car tries to fight me and it also goes nuts when I’m driving on curvy roads. I also got pulled over on PCH but it was because my radar cruise control decided to start braking when the car in front of me was still 200 feet away… cop thought I was brake checking her lmao Newport Beach cops will pull you over for anything

Everyone saying the remote start is a safety feature please remember other brands that have remote start stay running and require the key to be in the car and press the start button to confirm. That would be a great fix. And the radio resolution does suck. I know people with cars not even as new with better quality screens. Toyota just didn’t focus on making the radio as sexy as the outside
Im in socal too… its easier for me to roll the windows with my remote to let all the heat escape. And i did try to get the “higher” trim lol they just didnt have it at the dealership. 🤷🏽♂️ But thanks for the info
First rule of steering assist is that you only turn it on when you will b3 turning on adaptive cruise control. It's for freeway driving not city driving.
As an owner of the Camry and Dodge Durango I must say Dodge did an amazing job with their Remote start features. The truck stays running and all I have to do I push the start button with the keys on me. If only the Japanese can get on board
Well I got a kick out of this.. I agree on the Vanity mirrors, no light? WTF.. Of Course i am coming from a Benz C300.. As far as the Backup camera, I barely look at my even when backing up.. Nice to have, I like the cross traffic function more. Lane departure, I just got use to it was going to do that in traffic construction areas… but it has saved my ass more so I dont disable it totally, I do the temp turn off by holding the button if it becomes too annoying… That way the next time I start the car it will come back on. Funny, never noticed the color of the roof until now.. lol Serious agreement on the ACC function. I learned to turn the car off in neutral so the radio will stay on, I just have to remember to set the Parking brake. my Benz had that timeout on the radio to save the battery.. Got use to it.. I hate the Radio is not HD.. The climate system does that to let you know that it is venting… 2021 TRD…

My car is the 2020 xse silver with red interior and black roof and mirrors but I have vanity lights and a panoramic roof and everything else fully loaded besides the heated steering wheel I think they’re all different with different features which is why prices may vary depending on options
I have a '24 XSE. They should have made it to recognize your smart key when you remote start and open the door. Even though I have a moonroof I think they could have made the overhead consol a little bigger to include a sunglass case. Should include factory fog lights on SE and XSE models. These would be my gripes. My vanity mirror has a light in the ceiling. They must have heard your complaint. I refuse to carry a pink man purse.
I use the wireless pad for my headphones. very very useful since I go to the gym often. Leave them there so they are always charging. Also for the steering wheel assist, it’s supposed to be turned off in situations where you will have to go outside the lines or construction zone. it’s not auto pilot just useful for long distance or late night driving. Tesla can’t even go through a construction zone super successfully. My brother is also 6ft and says the passenger side is very comfortable! And the drivers side is also very comfortable to me. In my 2022 xse the paddle shifters are much better!

I have the 2020 XSE. I love my car… it gets me 38 mph on the highway and that is great for a non-hybrid or no electric vehicle,especially for the size of a Camry. Also,… if you are up north in the winter or like I am down south in the summer, if you leave your car parked outside of your house and it’s 95° it is great to hit the remote start, let it run and either cool your car or heat it for 10 minutes …after that 10 minutes, it shut off but, you can hit it again it will restart again and run for another 10 minutes ..after that you have to actually get into the car and hit the push button start on the vehicle. But for me, when I park in my driveway for whatever reason and don’t park in the garage and hit the remote start in the car runs for 10 minutes, if I go out to get in it, the inside has cooled down or, heat it up.? Why would you not find that a great feature? Sorry Karen, I strongly disagree…these are things that you should’ve researched before you bought the vehicle, wtf ??
I love my car and can agree with 100% of what you just complained about. I've gotten used to it honestly with the exception of the damn remote start. I just let the 10 mins time out to shut it off anyway. Ny winters my seats and car are warm, summer everything is cooled down 🤷🏾♀️

We now have the Toyota App with Subscriptions ,,, that is what I dislike. Need to pay and subscribe to Remote Connect to use the Key FOB for Remote Start. The 8th Generation Camry received a Refresh / Facelift in 2021 as it was a significant improvement in some respect. I am truly sorry for your dilemma or dissatisfaction. There are worst vehicles out there, I surprised you did not investigate, read reviews, sit in a few Camrys, even test drive before purchasing yours. There is a guy who lives in Texas and not long ago put on UA-cam about his 2019 Camry SE with over 300,000 miles. That will prove to you, that the Camry body and 2.5-liter engine will last a while, I think he is in need of a new car after the repair costs and upkeep he had to do, I would say his Camry SE days are short numbered.

Remote start isn't useless... It's 100 here in so cal... And having my AC blowing for 5 minutes before I get in to cool the car is worth every penny.

I'm shocked that you didn't mention the fact that volume controls on the steering wheel are on the right instead of left. That makes me crazy!!

I love my car and can agree with 100% of what you just complained about. I've gotten used to it honestly with the exception of the damn remote start. I just let the 10 mins time out to shut it off anyway. Ny winters my seats and car are warm, summer everything is cooled down 🤷🏾♀️

I wouldn’t buy anything from 4 years ago or older simply because there’s no factory Apple CarPlay/Android auto. Not interested in having an aftermarket system installed
The 2023 Lexus ES350 comes with Android auto and Apple CP. price is only $10-12K more than the fully loaded Camry XSE V6.

No more plugging and unplugging phone cable. What do you mean slow? 60 percent charge on phone and 1 hour later its 100 percent charged. Agree, Lane Keeping Assist sux. Headliner is okay, it's the Red interior I dislike, thank god mine is black. Want the better version it is the LEXUS ES., all auto mfr. use way too much plastic and it is cheap plastic, easy to scratch, passenger side leg room is not bad, go sit in a 2018 RAV4 and tell me then. How often do you intend to be the passenger in your own Camry? Wear extra padding on your left knee area, all I can say. Wow, you carry a pocketbook/handbag ...umm. Very few vehicles have a 720p or 1080p Hi-Res back up camera ... not worth complaining about. Remote Start FOB function sequence is on you, it shuts off because of design and SECURITY. I own a 2023 Camry XSE V6 fully loaded and not much to complain about other than the OEM Bridgestone EL-440 tires that are summer tires on good for dry roads, they are super dangerous on wet surfaces and sidewall are known bulge, so I replaced them with Michelin CrossClimate2. We now have the Toyota App with Subscriptions ,,, that is what I dislike. Need to pay and subscribe to Remote Connect to use the Key FOB for Remote Start. The 8th Generation Camry received a Refresh / Facelift in 2021 as it was a significant improvement in some respect. I am truly sorry for your dilemma or dissatisfaction. There are worst vehicles out there, I surprised you did not investigate, read reviews, sit in a few Camrys, even test drive before purchasing yours. There is a guy who lives in Texas and not long ago put on UA-cam about his 2019 Camry SE with over 300,000 miles. That will prove to you, that the Camry body and 2.5-liter engine will last a while, I think he is in need of a new car after the repair costs and upkeep he had to do, I would say his Camry SE days are short numbered.
