I love these videos. Still looking for the right boat but I know where to come when I will eventually start my projects. Sewing is not that difficult if you take your time and have some patience...I learned to sew in school and in the navy.
Stephen Lockie Thanks for your positive comments! I agree, sewing is not only rather easy, but it can be fun to create a great looking project from scratch.
Would you please comment on the size, construction method, and especially the composition of the cutting table in this video? Is that 4×8 MDF on the top? With something like lacquer or varnish finish? 4×4 legs? Or doubled 2×4? 2×6 stringers from leg to leg supporting the top? At 1:14:35 it appears that the table too is edged. With what did you edge it? How was that accomplished?
I have a 2007 340DA Sea Ray Sundancer. It has a black sunbrella cover that attaches to the radar arch and slopes down to the stern. It is WAY too hot for Lake Powell in the summer. What material would you recommend for some protection from the sun, but would still let in some air? Is textilene a better choice?
If you are a fabricator making cushions and canvas projects use this handy chart from the “Marine Fabricator” for calculating labor costs. Here is a link to the MFA Time Standards Manual: marinefabricatormag.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/24/2018/02/timeline-standards.pdf
I am making a clear PVC cover for a gazebo.... how do to sew 2 pieces of PVC together? Can I see them to each other or do I need a strip of cloth between??
Yes, you can sew them directly over each other (overlapping seam), but that is not very nice looking. So, if you want to dress it up a bit you would place a cloth strip or Facing over the overlapped seam of the two window panels. Let me know if you have more questions.
Nice jobb, but. The problem comes when you need to change the window. As the hole panel is based on the size of the window. I would like to see you sew windows on the inside of the fabric instead.
Absolutely loved this video. I learned quite a bit from it. Thank you
We are so glad you liked it.
These videos are really beautiful. The work is great but also the camerawork, the pace etc.
We will keep them coming, if our viewers and especially our customers like them. Thanks!!!

Your guys make it look easy but without a doubt this is way beyond my skill level.

How many screws are needed for all of the tacks for a boat like this?

Here is the site: Phillocraft.com. That is all I know about the loft table.

Sailrite thank you. I found your videos very helpful. In a gazebo cover situation should vent it or use the vent rivets?
Im really good on that ... Just use sunbrella as a your own pattern...

That can be done yes.
You need push pins
I think everyone at SailRite needs a manicure. Ugh
