Brandon - I really love how thoughtful and patient you are in teaching the rest of us what you play. Your passion for helping others truly "get it down" comes through, and you've truly helped me play better on many songs at our church. Thank you for all the time, energy and skill you invest in these videos. They matter!! : )
New subscriber here! Thank you so much for posting this. I am a newer electric guitar player that just “made” the band at church. Got my Pod Go and im ready to praise the Lord with one of my favorite hobbies :)
I'm no guitar expert but I think I got pretty close to his tone. I used a compressor with low attack to take some of the nasty tinny sound out of the tremolo picking. My compressor also as a sustain setting, which I put on max so that the notes hold longer. I used some mild distortion to give it a little raunchy edge. I also used a WET reverb to get that quieter ethereal sound. The reverb is useful so that you don't drown out all your bandmates and draw too much attention. After all, this is for worship music, not Van Halen.
Invest in a stainless steel or brass slide. MUCH better tone. Glass slides, well, they kinda suck lol you will be very pleased with the tone of a metal slide

@@mrzsmusiclessons God bless brother! Great videos.
can't hear your voice, the guitar is too loud for the voice. The tabs are too small too
He said it was late at night so he was trying to be quiet
