When you're playing to celebrate your own induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, you definitely bring your "A" game.

    • @jeffthebracketman
      @jeffthebracketman 10 місяців тому +7

      @TroyArn Simple - because 60 years ago (unlike today) you had to have ACTUAL TALENT in order to be successful, well for at least more than one hit single, anyway. TRUE TALENT doesn't go away. Have you ever seen a doo wop revival on PBS? Ever wonder how those singers, most of whom are pushing 80 still have their voices? Because they had (and still have) TALENT!!! Peace out...

      @@markusantonio4866 Hold Your Head Up came out when I was about 9 years old. At that time my mother used to take us kids grocery shopping with her every month. She did her shopping at Gemco which was the 1970s version of a Walmart super-center. If us kids behaved ourselves, mom would stop at the music section and let each of us but a 45rpm record (simply called a 45). One of those trips I bought the song Hold Your Head Up, which I must have listened to a thousand times.
      I had a teacher that let her students bring a record to school every Friday if we behaved during the week. She would play the records during class which was kind of cool. That was back when bringing a 45 to school didn’t end with kids being killed.

    I'm 73-year-old Japanese.
    " She's Not There" The Zombies.
    Around 17 years old, it was asked by the radio.
    I appealed me of a high school student, and just also resonated and was moved!
    Thank you!The Zombies!!

    Rod said in his acceptance speech that the band broke up in the mid 60’s because of poor sales.Yet he also said years ago in an interview that there was tension because he and Chris earned so much more from royalties as the songwriters.They still remained friends and are still great and relevant with their latest cds.

    Had never heard this song until a holiday to Las Vegas which found us in Fremont Street under the musical roof and this was the first track played in the 60s montage. Superb. Downloaded straight away and listen often. Such a unique song and it’s great when these 1960s groups show they’ve still got it, compared with 99% of modern dross that’s out there with swearing, obscenity and near naked/ disgusting videos.
    Never seen them included on the Gold 60s shows that tour the UK which is a big oversight.
