The fact that Jamal is like 50 kg on average lighter than the other competitors and still conventionals around the same is scary
I don't wanna take anything away from jamal, he is a superb deadlifter.
The thing is, deadlift is the lift the least affected by bodyweight. Most strongmen have to be massive due to all the other events they perform which jamal doesn't need to do.
Seeing how he performs and looks next to these big fellas. He looks like he will peak 1000#+.
@@quelandil5738 the only two guys to pull 500kg were well over 400#. Most of the guys to pull over 1000# are/were over 300#. If you watch the under 105kg guys strength in most events is proportionally less across the board. The difference for some of the top powerlifters is they train three lifts and generally there body proportions are perfect for deadlifts.

They NEED to let the athletes pick their weights, for 3 attempts, rising bar. The Arnold does it and there's no reason GL can't do it. Rising bar would make it a better competition and allow the guys to hit bigger numbers. Time for GL to suck it up and allow the comp to run 10 minutes longer.

I don’t know if it makes a difference to you but you can cancel immediately afterwards and still have access to all the competition footage on there for a month

Interested to not see Tom Stoltman here considering he said he wanted to do 475 this year. Though I do understand that the hip issue, losing worlds strongest man, and a sour Arnold performance probably made him change his mind.
I think it's just because he's doing many shows this year. He's already done two, will be doing two Giants Lives and also the Shaw Classic and Rogue Invitational.

Tom is the weakest deadlifter of any WSM winners since Mariusz, I mean he isn’t a weak deadlifter, but Big Z has 440kg raw, 524kg hummer tire, Shaw 463kg raw, 512kg hummer tire, Eddie 500kg with suit, 536kg 18”, Thor 501kg with suit, Martins 440kg raw, Novikov pretty weak without suit from the floor, but amazing with suit and elevated 453,5kg suit, 550kg hummer tire, Mitch 445kg raw, 475kg suit, Tom 413kg raw, 430kg with suit, although that was 2019, and he hasn’t peaked and maxed without injuries for a long time. I mean I have a friend who has lifted 425kg pretty easily, he’s a freak too tho, also coached by Big Loz
@@Nukappi to be fair, Tom hasn’t been truly tested. He had a weak hip at the Arnold. His best performance in deadlift was definitely when he did 8 reps on the 360kg axle. I don’t think it’s fair to judge until he has to be tested like in WUS 2019. He’s a lot stronger now than before too.
@@PaulFellourisStrongman Great point. Before he went on the break, he was getting joint first on the deadlift with the likes of Hicks and Bishop, both of whom are 450 kilo deadlifters.
