- This will possibly be the last time that Polson Logging 2 will run the Holiday Express since that Mount Emily Shay 1 is coming soon to be part of the ORHF family. Please sit back and relax and enjoy this year's Holiday Express while SP 4449 & SP&S 700 are in the building getting warm.

But I naw the season of this express is almost over so I hope they pull there express trains next year like they always have in the past
GN #3613 is now at ORHC. UP SW10 #96 still pulls the Holiday Express back. I think GN #3613 will be used on the 2024 Holiday Express behind Mount Emily Lumber #1.
So excited,gonna ride it this year on the fifteenth!

Sure is amazing, the volunteers of ORHC managed to rebuild Polson Logging Co 2 in just 3 months and have it done in time for the 2023 Holiday Express runs. Not sure if they replaced the flues but knowing they managed to get the issue that led to the rebuild happening in August is impressive but also insane in just a short period of time. Still, I do agree this will be the last time PL2 will run on the nearly 1 mile of track before finally leaving for A&E sometime in 2024. I do question why she stayed after the 2022 Holiday Express but my best guess is ORHC wanted to put some use into until the Shay 1 arrived.

No, they are way too heavy to pull the train. But, SP&S 700 will might be back in operation next year.
Now GN #3613 is on ORHF property. It's an SW1000 acquired by them. In 2014 they changed #3613's reporting mark from BNSF to GN.
