A short trip to the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, for the Autumn Gala. Having visited last year for the end of season gala, another trip was irresistible for this year. The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway runs for just under 14 miles across the flats, shingle and drains of Romney Marsh. Built by Captain Howey and Count Zborowski back in 1927, it is the world's smallest public railway. A few locomotives didn’t feature in the Gala, there were no diesels, no bug, and no Winston Churchill. Visiting the Railway from the Whistlestop Valley, was Sian. Also featuring was a triple header. The weather featured itself heavily, from sunshine and clouds to torrential downpour at Dungeness, shots were taken at:

15:17 - No. 2 Northern Chief and No. 10 Doctor Syn alight at St Mary’s Bay
19:55 - Riding behind Northern Chief and Doctor Syn to New Romney
20:25 - No. 11 Black Prince passes New Romney
22:13 - Riding behind Samson to Dungeness
24:20 - No. 6 Samson leaves Dungeness for Hythe
25:12 - Triple Header, No. 11 Black Prince, No. 1 Green Goddess and No. 3 Southern Maid arrive into Dungeness
28:07 - Riding behind the triple header to Dymchurch
29:08 - No. 10 Doctor Syn and Botolph’s Bridge
29:55 - Triple header, No. 2 Northern Chief, No. 1 Green Goddess and No. 5 Hercules on Romney Sands

Thanks, the loco was running tender-first as it was a commuter to Romney Sands, then a non-stopper from Romney Sands to Hythe.

The loco was running tender-first as it was a commuter/local train to Romney Sands, then a non-stopper from Romney Sands to Hythe. There is no turntable at Romney Sands. Upon arrival, it runs around at Romney Sands, resulting in it facing forward to fly back to Hythe.
