I've never heard of that Malope before. The malope and aquilegia are lovely. Bonny

Thanks Bonny. Malope is wonderful. And now a staple in my garden each year.

I agree about the seed packets just showing the bloom. I like to see what I will end up with not just the bloom.

Love the colour of that Aquilegia. I saw Phlox of Sheep for the fist time last year on another channel (Soul Girl) and they are so nice and seemed to last a long time. I have a few perennial Phlox in my garden and they never let me down. Lovely to see Cosmo!

Thanks Wendy - I really hope the Aquilegia comes back again this year.

I just ordered Malope seed after watching this video. I never heard of it. While searching for the seeds I came across a video of the flowers in an arrangement. So beautiful!

Thanks Annette for the video. You certainly know how to keep busy. I blow hot and cold with Dahlias. Some years I love 'em and some years I think I won't bother with them but I always keep the corms, split 'em up, pot 'em on, plant some and give the rest away. Last year I was very pleased I kept some; they did well. P.

Thanks Peter - yes, there always seems to be something to do, especially now that I've started the annual seed-sowing extravaganza! I love dahlias so much - they really do add that blast of colour towards the end of summer.

I love your channel as you have so many of my favorite flowers and varieties, but I also learn about things I've never heard of as I'm fairly new to growing. I must subscribe to a hundred gardening channelsb but you're the first to introduce me to aquilegia and malope. I can't wait to see what happens with your Cotto Verdi aquilegia! It's so very exciting finding/creating new varieties. Good luck!!

I really appreciated the video of the dahlia's you picked and showed next to each other. Because it it hard to see the difference between colours on video. I hope you can do that with the different scabiosa this year!
    Greetings!

You are going to have a beautiful garden this year when all these seedlings are ready to be planted in the garden. It must be an exciting time to get them in the ground and watch them grow. I cant wait to see all the beautiful colors and I am always partial to phlox but mine are perennial phlox. Have a great weekend.

I thought I had commented but I can't find my comment. Very strange. I can't remember what I wrote now, if I do I will return to this and edit. So sorry Annette. Great video. Thoroughly enjoyed it as usual. Love Cosmo- he's gorgeous. Thank you. Happy gardening 😀 x Oh, I've remembered one thing. I grew aquilegia last year from seed. No stratification and sown 2/23 and germinated just 4 days later. I ended up with a lot of plants which I have overwintered in pots in a sheltered spot in the garden. They are all growing and looking great. I will plant them out as soon as we get some decent weather, I hope that helps. I am growing Bupleurum for the first time this year so I will see how I get on. I am sure there was more but....

🤣 Thanks Be. He's a little mischief maker! That's fabulous germination on your aquilegia - nothing from mine yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thank you! I just sowed some annual phlox yesterday. I placed them on the heat mat too, but they were not covered. I've since moved them and covered them up! Thanks for letting me know it'll take a while for them to germinate 😊

Hi, love your videos. I think it was last year you planted a small rose, Cutie Pie. How did it turn out? I also bought 3 from Famer Gracey and they did not put on much of a show. I expect they were putting more of their energy into the roots. They are looking healthy and are showing good growth so far. Would love to know how yours are doing.

Hi Jackie, Mine were ok. The ones I planted in their own individual pot did the best. I planted 3 in one trough planter and they struggled a bit. I planted another in a huge terracotta pot with other plants like thyme and it also struggled. Maybe they need to be planted individually? Mine are also putting on good growth this spring.

I’m so glad you’ve brought your intro music back, it’s such a cheerful happy music intro and I love the plants you have seeded. Never tried Phlox plants before because I didn’t know how they grow once mature. I’m looking forward to seeing where you have them in your garden.

I had to stop the video and rush here to the comment section... Bupleurum Graffitii grew last year nearly as tall as I am: 150cm! 😮 But those were the winter sowed plants, and the ones sowed in spring were smaller, that could be accurate with 60cm. 😊 So we will see how it does for you. 🤗 Greetings, Judit

    • @cottoverdi
      @cottoverdi  7 місяців тому +1

Thanks for that info Judit. I've never sown it in the winter - maybe I should give that a try next year. It would certainly be useful if it was nice and tall.😁
