Hysterical! And NO it was never a going thing in the sixties!!! I was there!! You are. Adorable but at least we learned a new technique for turning edges. Again NEVER A THING IN THE SIXTIES😅
Actually it kind of was .. think Jackie O...(But add netting and take away the fringe or make it more delicate)
Your son has a great sense of humor!
IKR? Gotta love Justin
😂😂
They wanted it to catch on but everyone said no thanks! 😂
You did a good job on it
Patterns can't all be winners BUT the work you put in is top notch 😊
😆 lampshade for sure! I agree its ok not to like it❣️. Love you 🥰 = Hugs
😉
I thought the same thing! 😂
👍👍❤️
You are trying so hard to be nice about this design ❤ you did nail it! All I can think about is the muppets now lol!
Yes! Bring the drums!
😂
Just put some corks on the strings and it will keep the flies off 😂😂😂Love from Australia ❤
haha I was thinking the same being Australian lol
Lol
Exactly what I was thinking! Australia here too! Close to Rockhampton! Blesssings
😂😂😂
Great idea.😂😂
I was crocheting in the 60s but I have never seen anything LIKE that!!!! Thank goodness it didn't catch on, lol!! Kudos for you making, it though, gave me a giggle! Your son has a great sense of humor to pick that out for you!
My wife wanted to make one and she will add some beads, sequins - or some sparkle things to the fringes for the family Christmas Party
Thanks for the pattern .
MERRY CHRISTMAS
OMG!!! The next best thing to an ugly sweater!! So many options here.
Great execution of the pattern! Yes, the turning ridge technique was very cool. No, by no means do you have to like it. Even the model doesn’t look very happy. Thank you for another wonderful mystery pattern!🫶 🦋
You made me ugly laugh 😆 - totally worth it! 💖
I think it would be great without the fringe. It covers the best features of the pattern. I wanted to let you know that I was trying to knit a sweater from a picture from the 70s and I tried and I could not make the pattern work no matter what I did. I have always respected how you work through things to get a result, but I had never experienced it for myself before. So thank you!!! You are truly amazing with these old patterns.
@@Hippiechick11 I learned from someone who created photo items for knitting patterns. The people who knit up the patterns often don’t follow the instructions exactly. They “fix” it exactly like the creator did with the “chain 3 instructions. 🤷♀️
So it probably wasn’t you. 🙂
@@AmandaHunter777 it was very frustrating. 🤣🤣
@ I bet! ❤️ sometimes just knowing that the poor results weren’t your fault can stem that frustration. I don’t knit or crochet under the pressure of guaranteed results anymore so anything positive I end up with is just a bonus 😆
😂 Looks like a mop on your head. Such fun and thanks you for cheering me up. You’re a great sport and I love your videos. Xxx
I agree?
You did it! You finally made something I don't want to make. Not a clue where I would even wear something silly like that. Great job with it, but not for me. I like that video because it shows that not everything vintage should be in style again.
Don't like hat, but your Vintage Crochet is fun to watch.😊
Good morning this was a great way to start my Saturday morning having coffee and watching your videos. Just a fun fact the pill box hat is from the sixty’s and there were many different styles.
Was also excited about the new stitch shown😊
LOL. Too funny. I don't like it either, but you did a great job crocheting it.
I would finish putting the fringe and turn that into a hanging basket. LOL... the look on your face had me die'n 😆😂. Thank you for the video.
Yes! A new video! Saturday morning sorted! Hi, lovely lady!
I love your videos!!!! Im working on one of your 1970s crochet corner bookmarks for my moms bday in a few days. My practice one turned out so cute, just like you!! 🫶🏻🐈⬛🍄👻👽😈
Greetings from Germany ❤
I agree totaly, with the interesting part of old patternis learning new things. I really love that with your videos! I learned already a lot. And stil trying new things out I saw you doing...
😂😂 its a funny head...would I ware it...well no...but can I see potential in the pattern to turn that in something else...yes.
I'm with you I crocheted in the 60's and never saw anything like that I wouldn't have made it if I saw the pattern
Your hair is growing back so nicely ❤
As for the pattern, I have a 5 year old daughter who would love this for dress up 😂
I got the giggles when you tried it on! Totally OK if you don't like it! Reminds me of a bad lampshade! And no, I never saw anyone wear a hat like this when I was young.
You nailed it!! ❤
I use the same bag to hold my hooks!
Lol your "1, 2, in...crease" has just changed my life for the better. When I'm trying to keep track of increases (or decreases) in the round I become shockingly unable to count. 🎉❤
Your face after trying that on with the "is it okay if I don't like it?" had me CRACKING up, lol. I kinda want to follow the pattern just to make the bowl part with that new stitch! Thanks for another great video. :)
It's OK to cry!!!!! It can look good on a young girl in bright colors. Great Job!
That hat made me laugh!!!!😂😂😂😂 Maybe use it as a lamp shade? Planter bucket? But seriously though--- hilarious 😂😆😂😆. Great video. Maybe without the fringe it might look better. Chalk it up to just having fun with yarn. 😊😊😊
Good morning and happy day!!
I was a kid in the 60s and I can say I do not remember hats with fringe! Bikinis yes, but not seen a frringy hat lol! I love the pill box style though!
I also rang up my 83 step mom and asked her, and she said not to her knowledge either, and she was a very stylish, beautiful woman then in Baltimore Maryland.
It's ok not to love it!! Thanks for making me giggle!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love that "turning ridge" stitch and I'm excited you've discovered it now! I personally love using it for adding layers or tiers, as it essentially adds a second row of stitches right behind the ones you work them on. It's also great for situations like in some flower motifs with layered petals, this method is a fantastic alternative to working a layer in the front loop and another in the back loop, this way is much sturdier and doesn't stretch out the stitches! I see this stitch used a lot on Russian and Turkish channels too, it's pretty popular just for adding some bold texture to all sorts of things, so I'm excited with you and so happy to see the creative sparks fly!! ❤️
Glad to know I’m not the only one who works rounds in a cadence. Mine is nearly the same as what you do.
I like it as a bowl 🥣 without the Fringe. Never saw ANYTHING like that before. Great work.
Its a muppet hat. Great execution, and we learned about the post ridge. Win!
There was a picture of my mom and dad together as guests at a wedding where my mom wore a pillbox hat in the early sixties... She totally rocked it . Best pic of her
Oh my you did a great job but oh it did make me laugh😂. I am 66yrs but I never saw anyone wearing a hat like that and I have an older sister who was quite trendy but I cannot imagine her ever wearing a hat like this..😂..but I love your work Corrina another success in my eyes..❤
This made me laugh out loud! It's just wild and wacky and definitely a 60's look!!! I'm glad you laughed, too. At least you found a neat new stitch that maybe you can use one day. That I really did like. 😂
Even the model in the picture looks less than thrilled to be wearing it
I know my mom wore pillbox hats but never had one like that! You did a good job.
Oh my! That had me laughing so hard. I'm a child of the sixties and I NEVER saw anything like that!. It reminded me of a dust mop my momma used on the hardwood floors.
I agree that no fringe would be great. I am lover of 50 to 60's fashion but never saw anyone wear a hat like that ,with that fringe on it! You have the right to not like it but you did an awesome job on it.
Magic circle is always the way I go. I'm in TOTAL agreement with you about the hdc!
Had the best laugh in a long time. Thanks
Yeah, another video from Corinna! What fun, I wonder what project she will pick for us today! ❤🙋🎄😊
Not sure which was funnier, looking at that hat or the pained expression on your face while trying on the hat. Thx 🎉🎉😂for the laugh.
😂😂😂
I laughed outloud with the try on. OMG- yes. I live for this, LOL
Well, I love the edge. Be good for a cuff or the neckline of a sweater, particularly if you are going to be attaching a separate collar.
HAHAHA! Justin picked a super fun pattern for you!
You nailed it, I thought it was going to be a plant holder😂 definitely a no go for me. I will have to say in the color you chose it reminds me of a mop, oh no!
Can't all be winners can they? Missed the 60s but never seen the like. Looking forward to your next instalment
I agree with you on the chain 3 vs hdc
OMG, I love that hat in the picture! Maybe the fringe in the pic is shorter than your one. Anyway, there's a lover right here 😆😆😊😊😀😀👍❤❤
Thank you son. He picked that one for fun x ❤
I really appreciated learning the oooohh too!
Me too, it's such a fun detail! 😊
I AM vintage and never saw a hat like that. At first I thought at its a tam, without the fringe I think it would be a nice hat. I think its one I would try. L love your site your very pretty lady and I live listening to you, while I have you on tv I am Working on other project, But -- will try this one Merry Christmas and the very best in the New Year. From Canada the cold North.
Thank you for your work!!! And a lot of greetings from Germany.
I never saw a hat like that; it's a hoot. I think I will make one and wear it to church. But I have to think a bit about the fringe. Some other finish, perhaps? Silver chains to dangle and make a noise? A bit of feather boa around? Fur? I can't wait for the fun part!
Growing up in the 60s I can see a fashion model wearing this hat accompanied by fancy gloves posing for a magazine pic. Don't remember seeing a crochet one back then. Don't like it either....fun to see you try it on 😂
That's a crazy style so I don't blame you for not liking it 😊 take care and Happy Christmas ⛄
You are a trouper! Thanks for the laughs!
I was like "what in the world is this thing gonna be?!?" 🤔and I would've never guessed it would be anything like that hat! Frankly, I don't like it much either😂, but you did do a great job on it...and yours alsolooks better than the one in the picture that came with the pattern!🙂 Fun video! 😄
Wow! Sometimes.....just wow. 😂😊
i just found your channel and i love, LOVE, the concept!!! i look forward to watching future videos!!!
I have never seen a hat like that before. I liked it before the fringe. Maybe some netting to make it look like a proper pillbox hat,or some velvet ribbon
How r you this fine icey storm morning?❣️
In the pattern photograph, it looks like the hat is on a frame, perched on her head and not worn so much like a beanie?
Well, that's different LOL. Fun to see something so unexpected 😁
Well, that is a quirky one xD not for me either, but you did a great job!
I’m not a fan of fringes. You made it beautifully, but I agree with your thoughts on the item. 😊
Wow, that's not a hat I've ever seen before! For sure good reason but you did a great job.
I originally thought that it was a beret but once the fringe was added I thought just no! It can’t be a hat! As someone born in the early 60’s I can’t ever recall seeing something so hideous on anyone & I’m sure if I did I would have asked my Mum what the lady was doing with a funny wig. Justin picked a good pattern as it kept us guessing. ❤️❤️👏👏🇬🇧
You are a terrific sport! I got Raggedy ann vibes.
I actually do have memories of similar items in movies from the era. Think of Jackie Kennedy’s pillbox hats with some extra embellishments. It also reminds me of some of the Mad Men series styles.
Moi non plus lol. Est-ce un chapeau ? Est-ce un balai pour laver le sol ? 🤔😅
C'est bizarre. En tous cas Corina, merci beaucoup pour ta chaîne que j'aime énormément et que je suis depuis un peu plus de deux ans maintenant, des bisous 😘
Oui😂😂😂
Love your content!!!❤😊
Esta bien como peluca 😅 esta bien ver algo diferente... Gracias por compartir ❤
You are most definitely allowed to say you don't like it!! By the look on the model's face, I don't think she was overly thrilled with it, either! 😂 That turning ridge was neat, though!
Love your channel!!
I figured it out! It's a pre disco headdress. Try using metallic thread, shimmer beads or faux crystals. Think extra sparkle and disco ball❤🎉
Beautiful! Thankyou so much
That is 'special' for sure
I never see one of those but is very interesting my sister is the time me my mom never see one very nice and fan❤
Yikes😮. Maybe without the fringe. I'd like it if the sides were taller and had a draw string to make it a bag.
💯% agree with being allergic to chains as a stitch. Easy by awful.
Love seeing a mystery pattern but totally understand needing a break to do something else. I have enjoyed the "can I make this".
I ❤ your channel and you are great!
It's ok not to like a mystery pattern. Hreat execution of the pattern. I limed the turning ridge. Maybe you can incorporate that stitch into a new pattern. Love watching bith your channels.
That was interesting. 😂 I feel like the base pattern with some crochet flowers could be cute, though.
Id take the fringe off and wear it plain. In the 60s we were really into fringe. Shirts, skirts, ponchos etc. Glad its in the past.
I remember this vaguely… but it was a hat for my Barbie doll.
Great job and, I too don't like it, but you did a great job.
I would just paraphrase my daughter when she was 1 1/2 years old, "Awhkie poo doodoos! Mom!". That pattern belongs buried under about 3 tons of Earth. But thanks for sharing! Ha ha ha. I love what you do.
I'm laughing so hard!🫨😵💫😆😆😆 Nope. But I remember lots of weird stuff going on at City Park. Freaked my mom and me out. We never went there again.🤣 You could do it in red and pass for Raggedy Ann.🤔🤪
I was born in 1959 and never seen a hat like that😂!
Me neither
Maybe the hat would be cute without the fringe
I like watching shows from that era and I haven't seen anything with fringe like that. A felt hat with tulle and sequins or small jewels glued on the tulle is the only thing that comes to mind.
It's cute 😅😅
Ok that hat was a unique pillbox hat. I think it is gorgeous in the picture but I agree made up it was impossible. I am that old and I never saw that particular hat anywhere.
LMAO! yeah - it's hideous 🤣😂🤣 I was following along up until the ridge - I'm glad I stopped there and didn't do the fringe - I'm going to make the bag you suggested instead
