      @@David-mx2xg I have played for around 3,5 years. I have spent a lot of time into playing and I have no regrets.
      Maple Leaf Rag was the first thing I learned on piano, and comparing it now to other rags, it's very simple. I have played it so much now that I don't really enjoy it anymore. 😂 Unless someone improvises or changes the arrangement, then my interest peaks.

    • @Tarzoq
      @Tarzoq  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks, it just felt fitting at the time. When people play it too fast I feel it takes away the swingy feel to it, which I feel is a missed opportunity. Thank you! Unfortunately that's the situation. Though I certainly can't blame them, since most people might think that I have been playing piano my whole life, but I have only been playing for 3 years. By that I consider that they might be less impressed by someone who has spent their entire life commited to learning the ins and outs of the instrument. Where they would expect someone to be a virtuoso, therefore they will less impressed.

    In a second hand store, a child prodigy sees a used piano, and starts playing classical music by ear flawlessly and the manager says, "Get your grubby hands off the merchandise!" An adult sees a used boom box, tunes it to a hip hop station and turns the volume all the way up until the whole store shakes, and the manager says nothing because he is a potential customer.

    Wow my man! Nice and crisp playing! I had no idea you had only been playing for about 3 years... that's damn impressive. Also, the video editing for this is great! loved the somewhat unexpected hand camera. :)
    Might I ask why you wore sunglasses. Privacy? Or maybe you are part of the R-team. Kinda like the A-team ,except they're the Rag-Team. ;P
    Anyway, really nice playing! Had to say it again.

      Thank you! Since I had the tools, I wanted to get the most of the recordings, and I am really satisfied with the result. The sunglasses was simply a impression of Brendan Kavanagh I did as a joke to my sister. He's a boogie-woogie player who makes similar video in public.

Absolutely no "formal" music training, the son of former slaves, etc. Most ppl who aren't in the classical 🎶 business have no idea who he was. Its sad. 😥

      I still get pain in my wrists and shoulders. Though it might be because I play on a digital piano and I tend to press the keys down harder because I'm not receiving the powerful sound you get from an acoustic piano.
