Since I'm writing this down... must as well put it here for others to see at a glance. *not my recipe :) Thank you for the wonderful video.. will definitely try it and review.
I came across mooncakes on Pinterest. They looked really pretty so decided to get a recipe. Came here and the first ingredient is lotus seeds which I have no clue where to find (not common where I live) and I'm like...nope, okay. Hope to make these someday though.
@@charbean663 no, we don't have them here. I live in South Asia so there are no separate stores that sell Asian stuff. We might get these in floating markets or vegetable markets. I have to look around.
Mooncakes - it will nice to eat after 2days finished baked. After baked put into air tight container and let stored for 2 days..If after baked the crush will be harden. So let it be stored for 2 days then the skin or crush will be soften.
I love everything about this video, from the music to the editing!! It’s like I’m watching avatar, they have this kind of music in it!! Thanks for showing us the recipe!!☺️
For those who haven’t tried it before, the outside is slightly oily, crumbly, and moist. The inside if the lotus root ones are well, lotus, and it’s a soft texture that you can sink your teeth in. It’s hard enough to get your teeth “stuck” but soft enough to squish. It’s slightly sweet, and the outside has a slightly “bitter” taste to it. Your teeth don’t actually get stuck, and it’s not actually bitter, but that was the best way I could describe it.
I never knew it was so easy to make the lotus seed paste. I always assumed it was hard because every tutorial I watched uses the pre-made paste. I prefer snowskin mooncakes over traditional mooncakes but I definitely gotta make this for my parents this mid-autumn festival. Thanks for the recipe!
Big L sixeteen for ao well prepared moon cake .awesome presentation it's encouraging me to prepare it in ur style. Wud love to try my hand on this following ur tips. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work and share with us
Very beautifully shot video! How cool that you roll several doughs into this gorgeous little cake! The press put the most perfect design on top and shaped the dough so well. This is a new recipe for me and I so enjoyed watching you prepare it! 😊🌼🌷
中秋快乐! I made these mooncakes yesterday so they'd be ready for today. I was not confident I did them right but then I tasted them, wow they are delicious! 很好吃!! Thank you for posting!
I came across moon cake in a couple of chinese mythology dramas and seriously thought it was made with nectars and moonbeams and all things magical... this video didn’t disappoint though...
한국의 가을 축제는 모든 산에 물드는 단풍이 최고라고 생각한다 나들이 갈때 만들어서 가면 좋은것 같네요^^ I think the fall festival in Korea is the best autumn foliage in all mountains. I think it's good to make it when we're out.
This recipe works :) but here’s some things I found from my experience. If you have a larger wooden mooncake paddle, you’re likely going to have to double the recipe for dough and lotus seed paste. Just double the ingredients, prepare the same way. Also, I found this works much better with all purpose flour than with cake flour, if you’re choosing between them.
Never heard about them till last week. They look so beautiful and wanted to know how they were made. Wonder how is the taste? Love to try one someday. Bdw music is so beautiful
Update I just tried these from Costco they are so good. I didn't think they would be good. But I really want to try this recipe out one day and let you know in a few months or maybe weeks whenever its cool here in California.

Patricia Lim thank you for this!! Do you know what golden syrup is and where do I find it?
@@lauren8121 You can find it online or at a Chinese store. I've heard honey is a great substitute.
@Tina Kay it is some ppl called it as alkaline water. You can make it at home (5g baking soda add with 15ml water)
Mixed well.
@Tina Kay calcium hydroxide
hi patricia...may i ask how the egg yolk became salty as per shown it were only poured chinese white wine and how long the yolk soaked in the wine?
They said dried lotus seeds and I instantly knew it’d be a lost cause for me to try this 😂
