Nonverbal Communication and Culture

We can sometimes be fooled into thinking that using and understanding nonverbal behavior is just something with which we are born. In truth, we learn the vast majority of nonverbal cues as part of cultural dissemination. This also means that any time we engage with someone from a different culture we could be using two different sets of nonverbal behaviors. This mini-lecture illustrates the diversity of cultural divergence that exists in the various channels of nonverbal communication.
