    I’m not a horse owner, and not a farrier student but your video was the first I’ve seen where the farrier showed the horse walk to explain the approach. Very interesting. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    I've seen Farriers work on a lot of horses at the Lazy E where I worked. I have two horses and they are unshod for now and receive monthly attention.
    Thos young man is absolutely one of the very best I've seen and his attention to the comfort of the horse is exceptional. Well Done!

  • @semtech30
    @semtech30 2 роки тому +5

    Pinched heels. They have signs of rolling under. Due to being shod tight so the hinds don't catch the edge of the front shoe on tight turns around the barrel.. A common error. The indent lines on the wall are signs of constriction. Blood flow has been reduced over time causing the hoof capsule to be fragile. See the pink line under the coronary band @ 42:27 that's a pressure point. Like a bruising. Your on track when talking expansion. If this horse is in a dry climate a hoof dressing is beneficial. Nice Job.

    Couldn't agree more about too much traction, especially with less than perfect joints, it just tears them up.

    When I was younger I did a lot of reading about horses and different types of horses being good for different tasks and over time some turned out to be not quite factual lol but I read that trail horses were good for mountain trails because the back hoof lands where the front hoof was making it less likely to slip or anything like that.I don't know how true but when it was slowed down you could see that this horse back hooves land almost exactly where the front hoof was.lol
