it doesnt look like you used the little plastic fasteners to hold the light in place, how are they holding up with only the 3m tape? i have the same set of lights but im really trying to avoid drilling into anything.
The front lip was the only issue I had on one strip falling but with the lip being new it probably still had mold release on it. I'll make a quick video

They do turn off with the app you just got to connect and they will be a blue box to the right of the lights name click it and they will go off

About 2 hours. Most of it was just figuring out where to route the wires
