The mercury outboards up to 30hp are just rebadged tohatsu's, only the cowling, tiller and mid sections are a little different. But tohatsu are great outboards made in Japan. Definitely love the 25/30 outboards as they are the smallest 3 cylinders ones you can get as the 3 bangers are smooooth unlike the 2cylinders. Only the yam 25 is a 2 banger. would definitely like to see more vids on these smaller outboards
Hey capt , much respect for all you do and stand for. I've been watching your carabelle and apalachicola fishing video fishing for a couple a years now. I inspired my self and purchased a 22ft boat, I been going out of apalachicola and carabelle when I can , I scan bottom and have struck alot.I want to figure this bottom and the area on my own but it's been a rough. Not much luck. I don't know if you'll ever see or read this comment but do you have any area or #s you may be able to enlighten me out with? I seen your videos and noticed you catch alot of fish in the 80 to 90ft range. Any area within that range would help a ton. Thank you
Hey brother would you recommend the 20hp Honda for a Saturn inflatable? I have the 15ft Saturn heavy duty and it’s usually just me the dog and the wife. We have a Yamaha dealer and a Honda dealer near me and I can get a short shaft Honda for 3300$ no tax.
Didn't really hear any dings (good the warranty covered the loose power head on a Suzuki) on any, so I guess you are saying whatever 20-30 hp motor your dealer carries will do you fine? Somebody else brought them up, but I guess I'm not surprised that Tohatsu was not mentioned at the Mpls boat show. I'm guessing I've been to that show 30-40 times and don't recall seeing them since 2-strokes were the rule. Now I'm enjoying the St. Pete show outdoors. Tohatsus seem to be popular (and light weight) in that hp class for dinghies down here in FL.
I've had a mercury 15hp for 11 years, and while it's been reliable, the cowl seals fall off in no time. It seems as though there is no sealant on the market that can hold the seal on for more than 2 years. Also, it is a loud ass rattle trap. It is 5 times louder than my buddies 90 hp Mercury, no shit, go figure? I went out the other day while trailering the boat back home. The cowl blew off on the road, again another seal issue. I priced a 3rd cowl for this motor, $900 out the gate, insane... I'm probably going to replace it with a Honda.
I can buy 3 new Hangkai outboards in the same hp as one of these new for the same price. I have a 12hp Hangkai and can lift it on to my boat at 82 yrs old. Starts first pull. They are all great motors but way over priced. Most advanced Mercs made in China!! GRIZ
You guys should do a speed test for all of them with the same boat
Everyone knows theses motors are great. We want to know what sets them apart from each other.
Great video guys. For my 12' aluminum V hull, I'll stick with my 2018 Merc 9.9. Runs like a beast. 😊

Could you tell me please ,
In a group of 15 hp motors , where would the Tohatsu 15 fit , is it a top brand ??
And what about Suzuki ??
In the middle, my buddy doesn’t like his smaller Suzuki.
Pretty happy with my 2021 suzuki 30 hp
I am looking power my polar kraft 15 foot SC with a Suzuki 30hp. What size boat do you have it on?

Tohatsu run rings around these for reliability. Why no mention?
What size do you run on what size boat?
MfS50A on a 4.8m aluminium Centre Console.
Lol
If you not fishing tournaments a 1448 jon boat without the center seat rows will be the best boat on the market. Tons of walking room to fish.
My 15 is trolling at 3.5 mph at idle, recommendation on slowing it down?
Different pitch on prop
What make of outboard is it?
Your video sound is very poor due to background noises. What did you guys say???
Where is Suzuki?
They showed Suzuki
@@justinstewart3248 ok😀👍

It would barely be enough. But yes.

Tohatsu makes mercury’s small motors and Suzuki is basically a tohatsu too
No Tohatsu?
The merc is a tohatsu I think
I'm still waiting in a two cylinder 4, 5 or 6 hp four stroke. Don't like one cyl. for trolling
Yamaha is 👑
I was there
Where is Tohatsu outboards?
Ok, i saw them under Mercury Logo ...... Feel the wind! :)
I'm a Vet also but the 25 HP Merc is made in Japan.
Most Mercury motors aren’t made in the US
I like your videos, but way the master Sargent stripes in your symbol. I thank you for your service if you were in .

Yamaha is where it's at.
I can't hear the guy on the my left.
25/30HP FourStroke EFI Mercury, the best outboard in your range.
Bom dia querro compraraule 25 da honda
No Tohatsu? That doesn’t make sense
Aren't all those smaller hp engines the same engine made by Nissan/Tohatsu? Kind of a weird review!
I miss catching them reef donkeys
Me to. It was a blast. Godspeed Troy.
There is really one 3 outboards Yamaha,Honda, and Tohatsu
I’ll take my 20 horse Tohatsu over all those
Where do you find one? Everyone I see online for sale are scam pages.
@@nwilmoth5125always go to a dealer so they can do any warranty work if need be
Just an fyi, but tohatsu makes Mercury outboards under 30hp I believe. The only Mercury outboard I would by is one made by tohatsu.
😂 just named every 20-25HP motor except Tohatsu
Mercury power heads are no longer made in this country
Good to know.
Ok😀👍
Hondas are still carburetor. No thanks.
And heavy.

Prices?
Guys, you cannot make a video speaking about 5 outboards and ALLare good. Then, what is the point of your video? Itmis useless.

They are 2 stroke tho right?
But you'll need 4.....
This review was pretty much useless. They’re all great I guess?
