That thumbnail pic is fake......... your left side high beam doesn't work 😂.....as well you know.
@@developerx-c4qno, but does include Ivy....
Was a pleasure to do these, can't wait to see the car running and finished 👍
Cant wait to show them all the amazing job you have done mate !
nice job !
Great job both of you. 👍👍
Literally Martin is the go-to guy for all things Bosch K-jet. There are others out there but I doubt they are as thorough as the work Martin does at Grey Goose! Class indeed.
Great job!
Another shout for putting sound deadening material on the insides of the doors.
I was about to write the same, sound material is the way to go
Nope not original
This is my favorite car project on UA-cam. Better than all the “F40” builds and the Flood P1 and all the salvage auction specials by far. Such a beautiful, special car. And you are doing it justice.
Loving the BBi content! Such a sweet car now, I remember when you cleaned it with help from Ammo and I was thinking that just didn't cut it. Gonna need to completely strip it to the shell, fix-mend-repair every part individually, put everything back together and show us armchair mechanics how much work is actually involved. Big shouts to all those with satiated OCD right now, on behalf of all of us freaks, we salute you. 🙌🙌🙌
Thank you so much for the kind comment. Its been a long journey but these little fixes and tests putting it back together and all working is great
This car will be unique in the world and worth a small fortune
The 512 Berlinetta Boxer and Miura are the two most iconic cars ever to me as a 70s child. I love watching this so much, thank you Scott for sharing this amazing build with us. It brings me so much joy!
Thanks for the kind words. Im so happy you enjoy it
Hi Scott, great job on the BBi. I would highly recommend you relay the window switches. All Ferrari electric windows suffer from voltage drop. If they worked when you put direct voltage and now they’re sluggish, they tells you something. Now is the time to upgrade the wiring when you have it apart!
The Cibie 35 light units are not sealed - there's a screw either side of the lens which you undo to release the lens including bezel where you'll then find the bulb holders for the H2 bulbs held in place with a sprung retaining clip. If there's no holders in the lamps you'll be able to find some on eBay I imagine. If no joy I might be able to find some amongst my lamp stash 😂
Correct - the Cibie lamps are similar, if not the same as Renault 16 TS from the early 1970's.
This BBi will be better than new once it's done.
Total credit to you Scott, you've knocked it out of the proverbial park.
The attention to detail is so awesome I was always told its goes back together spotless. I have tried to follow this rule on our project. My son makes fun of me of being that picky.
Leave it like Ferrari rolled it out! You’re doing an amazing job!
Woo ! BBi content, have tea and chocolate buttons and I have settled in away from the storm outside. Happy.
I cannot wait to see this car finished and hear the engine!
My prediction- the BBi has already been sold to a collector. The deposit has been put towards the F40 chassis and engine.
Always look forward to your updates. Pleasing to see solid progress even though you're into some of the more "fiddly bits." The temperamental nature of Italian automotive electrics..... It may test your patience to overcome some of the electrical quirks and idiosyncrasies. Keep up the great work.
Great progress Scott and thank you for your update! The 512BB doors are aluminium, so no rust prevention required. As I remember it, the 'flash' light signal would only allow the headlight pods to raise momentarily qnd shut back closed, like a 308. It's likely that the BBi fogs only work in conjunction with the red rears, via the fog button...
😂seriously crying happy tears to see this car come back to life. I’m a purist so to me I’d leave the doors as is as they tell a story and well you’ll never see it.
Pop up headlights. I know they come with issues but man don’t they just make a car look incredibly sleek and sexy.
Such a pleasure to watch you restore this car. Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
Great progress. I have to say you found a superstar with -Grey Goose-. Watching how he sorted your fuel metering heads was just amazing.
@@jonnybigpotato4263 absolutely, he has done an amazing job
Another fantastic update! Thanks for keeping us in the loop Scott. This continues to be my absolute favourite video series on UA-cam 🙂
I think ian tyrell has a 512 bbi in his workshop now. Would be nice to see a colab vid?
Others have said it, leaning in - why not decrease outside noise and creaks with sound deadening material? Done in a sensitive way means you can always pull it, with Ferrari's lovely handiwork still in place. But equally, your car, your provinance, your choice - will be here for it!
My heart dropped at 25:40 when you tried to close the door but it swung all the way open behind you as you walked to the front of the car. I'm always working in tight spaces and imagined it banging into a floor jack handle or something
yes it did it a few times lucky nothing in the way. today I fitted a pin in the door strap to stop it doing that
I know Matt Armstrong has changed the rebuild game with his high production standards, but these old school "guy tinkering around in his garage and problem solving by committee" vids have their charm also.
Not to mention the amount of 'coding' of electronic boxes to the modern cars that needs to happen if you replace something.
What’s high production for Matt Armstrong? It’s all about storytelling and not to mention he has expensive motors no?
@ The high production is the storytelling using quick cut editing and voice over. It keeps you engaged weekly.
After all that work, I’d defo get the car PPF’d to protect it
I would spray inside the doors with a quality rust preventive coating . Additional rust protection is always a good idea , particularly in the very rust prone areas like the lower door seam
areas.
So good to see your doing well. I gotta say the Uk channels are kicking it !! This BBi is going to be a very sought after car when you're done. Get that interior perfect and wow nicest one out there!! Be proud of your accomplishments on this project. As of right now mate we are still standing on the sidelines waiting to sell a few things to fund our project. Our Ferrari will live again !!
A new episode from the Ratster. Perfect. Whatever the topic I love his videos. The fact that it's the BBi makes it a huge treat.
Wonderful Rebuild 🥳🥳Looking fantastic after every video watching this at 4am and loving it 👍👍
Watch this for three years, like your video’s of the BBi. what a great job Scott, Chapeau!
Can’t wait for the episode, when you start running the engine!
Great progress!! 🤙
That chipped mirror badge can surely be restored?! Oh and by the way a seamless sponsor transition. Well Done!!!
Thank you sir
What an accomplishment and a pride it will be for you Scott when this BBi will be completely finished. So fantastic to see it's progression. Congrats and thank you.
Still the best car resto channel on youtube … absolutely brilliant .
This is AWESOME👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Congratulations Scott it was not possible without passion & commitment like you've, Great work Bro👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Looking forward to the next episode, Stay Blessed BRO🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Almost there. When you finish it, take the car to a nice landscape and record it from lots of angles, with some drone shots too, please.
Great idea
Amazing! I’m sure he never thought to take the car somewhere to take pictures and videos of it! What an idiot Scott is and I’m glad he has people like you to help guide him through this tedious process!
Road trip to Italy :)
How “Stradman”
We're getting so close to project being done I am so absolutely awesome the amazed and also appreciative of you. The reason why Ferrari did a lot of things I'm just going to guess is because of weight. they didn't want that card have any extra weight so that every bit of the power is coming off of that engine was just thrust. Hey I'm all in sound proof material road noise. You know the engine is sitting right behind you so it's exactly where it's supposed to be to help you hear what it's doing back there.
I was one of the commenters about the inside finish of the door - it was directed purely at Maranello corner cutting, you're doing a banging job so just use your best judgement and taste👌
I would probably litly spray the inside of the door with rustproofing.
Litely spray the inner door area with anti rust inhibitor. Keep the rust away.
Awesome progress mate! Glad you stuck with the original white. GG!
Beautiful motor, bellissimo 👌🏻
Best rear end I've seen since I went out with Ashley Long 🤣🤣🤣
Wow, i cant believe its been 4yrs since you got this car Scott ! For some reason yt wasn't flagging your vids but glad i found them again and caught up on this project !! Keep up the great work
i love the attention to detail on this build, it's gonna be amazing. Would love to see a convertable Testerossa to this quality 😉
Hello mate.. so good to see what you have done to the BBI .. I have been watching for a few years now.. I really hope that you keep that car after all that work.. can't wait to see the engine in and running
Hello Scot! You have done a very good job with your BBi What a beautiful Ferrari is turning back to life! I a looking forward to your next video. Hopefully, you can make your next step successfully by firing it up. I am sure you will succeed it, finally. Keep the good work up! See you soon! 😉 Ciao!
Amazing series. You should ask Larry from AmmoNYC to fly in to clean it to perfection once the restoration is complete.
Scott when this is completed a long version video of the entire rebuild will break records on You Tube. It's been so fun watching these videos as I can imagine it's been a major struggle every step along with a fairly expensive project. Congratulations and good luck with the remainder.
I actually came to see what the Holy stuff was about! Really nice packaging! I hope your store does well. After all what F40 build would be complete without some Holy stuff! Love this channel and the interesting sponsors too actually. always fun and well chosen! Gobsmacked with your F40 progress so so genuinely happy! There could be another F40 on the road, what's not to like!
I am looking forward for next episode, I totally agree new cars should have pop up lights.
Finally!!! Been waiting weeks for this update - love it 😊
Great video, really good to see you smiling and enjoying the build
another great video mate, always looking forward watching you restore these classic cars, can't wait for the final result 👍🏻
40 year old Italian electrics aren't known for their reliability ;) , seeing everything coming back around shows how solid this car was built. Can't wait to see it driving it
The key to that Bosch CIS system is to use good quality fuel and DRIVE THE CAR 😃 those things get gummed up when left to just sit…..looks great👍🏼👍🏼
100% ive had that on the 308 before
It is so satisfying when all those little things come together...
Really starting to come together now dude. Super excited 👌🏻😁
🤝🧠🙋♂️ You’re doing a great job 👏
Love, Love, Love this build. Great work! the BBi is looking stunning!
Epic video well done Scott BBI coming together nicely 👌 👍
Seeing this makes me all warm and happy inside. Truly amazing work Scott! ❤❤
Thanks so much
Invite the guys with the ice-blaster to clean the car complete. Every little hidden corner.
That would be great - i love to see those videos.
Like you did on the engine. Beautiful!
Great idea
That car is SO FINE!!! DUDE!!!
Well done and thanks for showing your efforts
I’ve never heard you so joyful. Sounds good on you.
Great video! You being so excited made it even better. Looking forward to seeing this project as it continues to completion!
Fantastic progress! Bravo!
Great job Scott!
Thanks!
Loving this series =D Great work so far!
@Ratarossa I can’t wait to hear that BBi fire up that 12 cylinder!
congrats Scott looking good!
Ow man, what a milestone! So happy to see your hard work paying off.
Thanks a ton!
Good to see you excited at this stage of the build . Keep on trundling along
I wonder if they make a modern projector HID housing to replace those stock halogens? 🤔
All the electrical seems to be doing well. Congrats! 👏🏻. Big milestone no doubt.
Seriously consider replacing the incandescent lights with LED’s. The engine bay, front bumper, and rear brake lights. Leave the standard bulbs for the turn signals. 👍🏻😎
Have been wondering, as I've watched every episode, are your plans to tour with the BBi at shows? I'd love to some and see it when it's finished. What a labour of love!
Oh my days - Pioneer TS168's for front door speakers. These were my first aftermarket speakers I fitted way back in the late 70's.
Hey Scott wstched the new video, lovef it, your car is going to be a masterpeace when finished, remember Scott, you are doing a restoration job just like the top professionals.
Im very impressed as is everyone else. Keep up the great work, long hard road, your doing it.👍
Cannot wait to see this girl ripping around corners. What a ride to this point from buying the barn find to now.
Happy to see you so happy!
Coming along nicely.. worth a fortune when your done.. should be a nice profit..
So excited! Can't wait to watch!!!
I would NOT clean the inside of the doors. Let them as Ferrari did when it was new. Great progress for sure. Electrical issues can be a bear. Looking forward to the next update.
She’s coming together now fella ! 😎👍
Protect your glass when sparks from the grinder are flying towards it. Those sparks of molten metal will melt pits into glass on contact. In case you hadn't added protection I was wincing when you were grinding the rivets on the rear clam, with sparks flying towards your freshly installed rear bulkhead glass.
Brilliant Video Scott
The BBI is just coming out fantastic Scott, your attention to detail is second to none !
While the inner doors is purely your choice, if you're looking for full concourse, what would a judge expect to see, should a card be off for inspection?
Also a few drops of sewing machine oil in those air horns should fix it straight up for you !!
great tip mate, i will try that
Leave the inner doors as is, People like things original from the factory
that was my thoughts
@@Ratarossa They're only original once i think is the saying. Clean, but don't over restore
Besides, why do more then you need to only to have people tell you it's not original on a part no one sees?
@@Ratarossa Original.
It's looking good!
Excellent. Must be so gratifying at this stage 👍
I wouldn’t mess with how the car left the factory. So just clean the door internals.
Nice F40 rear bumper behind you @ 6:20
You have spent so much energy restoring the rest to original.... Keep the doors original, sloppy "From Factory" finishes and all! Glad to see the car coming together so well.
Looking great Scott, well done . Look forward to seeing it one day.
Man! That engine looks a treat!!
Best channel on you tube. Great content, this build looks epic and will put the BBi back on the map. Such a beautiful forgotten supercar.
Look forward to seeing the BBi at Auto Italia, Brooklands in May 😊.
It's been exciting, mate.. BBi is gorgeous. Can't wait to see her done. Good on ya!!
Sound deadening in the doors. Will make driving pleasurable rather than hearing pings from road gravel
The BBi is going to be a stunner, been watching this since day one and cannot wait to see it finished and that first drive ...question is will you be keeping it Scott? I hope you do be great to see this along side the F40 some day.😎
If it came from the factory that way it’s an easy choice, you leave it. I know, I like having my restorations pristine but if you really want to put this back to factory spec then it should have that factory look and feel.
cool thanks for the comment and suggestion
@@Ratarossa Just because F delivers dirty products doesn't mean you have to put up with them being dirty, I don't see that Italian dirt would increase the value of the car and I myself would feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that it is clean and hygienic. However, I am not a fanatic when it comes to original design. If you can improve something without ruining the appearance, I think it can be forgiven, like an electronic ignition system. But it is your car and I respect your choices and I think it is very fun to have the opportunity to follow your efforts with Fs as I myself cannot imagine putting such effort and money into a sports car. My used car gives me enough trouble and expenses.🙂
@@Ratarossa Give it a drive without sound deadening and if you think it’ll be better, then throw some in. Wouldn’t worry about the color or tattiness since it’s not seen
Amazing job, scott. I was wondering if you’d be able to assemble all the electical parts back again when you split all the car apart. And you’ve done it. I’m a huge fan. Congrats!!!
Really anxious to see this beast back in the track.
What a great video. Well worth the wait. It will be the best BBi on the planet.
I had this car (in red) as my bedrom poster car in the 80,s when everyone had the Countach poster
Cannot wait to see it finished
It's really coming together now!! 🎉
Love it Scott and I cannot wait to see it finished and in the flesh at some point! Well done man!
Thanks a bunch!
insane amount of work, comming out super nice.
*Scott if you search for maranello classic parts you can find the full electrical diagrams and every single diagram for the bbi full car . And it has just about every single farrari car diagram aswell sure it will help for futer builds*
thanks I will search that up
