My habitat for humanity house tour! I've now lived in our new home for 2 and a half months. I've done a few house tours in the process of getting it but here is what mine looks like fully furnished and semi lived in

May I suggest tinting your windows? I had the same concerns about privacy etc so I put the darkest tint I could find on my windows. I got it at Walmart and it was easy to apply and remove. I felt safer and I like that I could see out but they couldn't see in 😂.

We just got our habitat house dedicated to us today. We move in a couple of weeks. So excited. Congrats to you on the house!
Was it a long process
@@mercymadrigal2539the whole process from getting the paperwork turned in to moving into the house has been about a year and 9 months. But building the house it only took us 4 months to do. Which really wasn't bad. Some days it felt like a slow process. And other days felt fast. I know through the whole year we spent a lot of our free time working. But it was so worth giving up those Saturdays in the end. We love our home. And it was made with love from the volunteers. It was a very cool experience. I would do it all again if I had the choice.
@@Zodiac1350 that is very exciting news. Crossing my fingers you get it. Let me know and let me know if you have any questions about the process. And it depends on how close your boys in age are. We have 3 boys and then its me and my hubby. And they ended up giving us a 4 bedroom. We feel so blessed and happy we all have our own room. I love our house too. The way they made it is just so awesome! It feels good to be out of a 3 bedroom apartment and be in a 4 bedroom house.

Your home is beautiful! How do they decide in the size of the home? I have one son but plan on having a family in the future? Most habitat homes around my area are very small. Your is a nice size.

Need a life update. I followed you since night nurse days.
I love the cluster of family photos in the dining area. Well done! I think that sectional sofa works really well and wouldn't replace it. A new rug will tie that space together beautifully! I suggest one that has a soft pile and is washable so that little feet can enjoy the play area and mom doesn't have to stress about how to keep it clean.

Lol thanks! I measured them the same distance apart and lined alot of them up with another frame so it would flow better

@@reailia all the "lines" in the "wood" I think help plus the color. I could not believe how much I swept up the first time I swept lol it was so hidden

LOVE the kitchen! Wow! It's gorgeous!!! About your window coverings, privacy, and security: where I live, any electronics visble through a window invite a break-in; and like you, I like my privacy but am overlooked by neighbors. So, I went with window film--it's very affordable, comes in lots of colors, styles, and patterns, can cover a portion or all of the window while still letting light in, and it's totally washable (so sticky hands touching it are no problem). I love mine and have pretty curtains, too, and I've gotten lots of compliments on them!
Final comment: the rectangular white basket in your entry way might fit in your bathroom. I have several of those and love how versitile they are for organizing "stuff." I wish we were neighbors because I would happily get you a gate for the top of those stairs. Those stackable laundry machines and that tub are awesome!! Overall, I think your home is just lovely and I look forward to more videos from you (and yes, I hit the subscribe button)!

John Nguyen I saw in a video from habitat that you choose your color flooring, walls, and cabinets. Not sure if it’s the same in each state though

Hey Bonnie, a question, pls. As a home owner, are you allowed to remodify or reconstruct some parts of your home if you wish in the future like a bathroom makeover?
I think every habitat is different.. I think I need to ask if it's somthing major. When I move out though I have to pay to replace any damages. So as long as you improve the house price not lower it

Could you possibly put your mini freezer in the crawl space? I just think it would look way too cluttered if you put it in the dining room.
I bet you could find some type of organizer or basket on Amazon for the shelf in the bathroom.

@@jazzyj4765 that's where I want it to go but there isnt enough plug ins.. theres 1 outlet but it's being used for the house ventilation system and I'm pretty positive you can or shouldn't use outlet extentions for that
@@msbonnieharris I'd definitely ask an electrician about it.
Congrats to your family. I apply this week, although I am nervous about what setting they will build in, as I have gotten used to living the very rural life in the country. Clusters of Habitat homes are such a bad idea. I hope they don't do that here. That's basically building a project house community. I don't want to move back to that, It wasn't safe for my kids.
