Did Notice a Lot of symmetry on those book shelves being almost to staged= obviously it shows naivety >>Yet existing in Your World< their are so many things to explore For You with Your eye for old world beauty and as you do you'll find semetary may no longer be so appealing 😱and become a little more asymmetrical 😂🤣😂 over Time... But it's a Great Space 🚀for You fit in it so Beautifully 💞

It's a beautiful apartment and the most amazing part is how she perfectly matches the interior with her white alabaster skin and brass accents.

She really captured an airy, Parisian vibe. Moving the kitchen island to the wall was such a smart move, and I love all the brass touches throughout. The design is cohesive yet there are so many unique details. And I think I need an Adam Driver look-alike in my living room too!

You could also get a spirit-animal. Birds are coming in now, especially owls. I got myself a mid-century goose some 5 years ago and I live in her home now.
what the fuck is an “airy, Parisian vibe”?
Parisian vibe has a vintage feel, often with ornate carvings and gilded mirrors for example - like she has included in her apartment.
Don’t make it sound like a non-thing just because you’re not design savvy.
@@thornyback It's so funny you say that! My grandmother collected owls and I have one of her glass bells with an owl etched on it. I also wear her owl pin on my coat.
This apartment is so warm and inviting. She did such a beautiful job of decorating!
To do what she has managed to do with a railroad apartment in Brooklyn is absolutely amazing to me. I'm on my third "adult" apartment as a renter and I am also a believer in the fact that it is worthwhile to invest money and time creating equity in a space you don't own because of the amount of joy that it brings and the fact that SO MUCH of our lives are spent in our homes. It amounts to YEARS of one's life. We might as well make them worthwhile and enjoyable, which she obviously has. I have to say, I'm always surprised and jealous of people who are patient and lucky enough to yield such great finds at thrift stores and flea markets in NYC. I feel like in the small number of times I've been to them, they're always completely picked over by the staff and the early birds by the time I get there. She really did an amazing job; her patience more than paid off and her unbridled delight is infectious. Thanks so much for sharing.

I'm absolutely blown away by the beauty of this space! It's beauty and warmth correspond to that of the inhabitant.
She did a beautiful job decorating this apt. It seems she put a lot of time, effort and money into installing plumbing, having shelves, made, and buying furniture for a space she doesn't own and will have to move out of eventually. Hopefully her landlord doesn't raise her rent ridiculously like they seem to be doing. The bathroom without a sink doesn't thrill me, especially for obvious reasons.
Yes, thank you for pointing that out. Decorating is one thing, but installing a brand new kitchen out of pocket in a rental is just a waste of time and money. If she were wealthy enough to afford this - she’d be living someplace bigger, and with a proper sink in the bathroom. I think this is irresponsible and should not be praised on UA-cam, even if it does look great.
Also this kind of renovation does increase the property’s value and opens the door for a rent increase. Her landlord could probably charge more now, whether it’s from her or future tenants. So by doing this she’s risking it.
@@hs2874 the creator actually makes a lot of money on her renovations because she is a content creator! Not only that, but she gets to surround herself in beautiful things that make her happy. No need to worry about her!
@@goldmcneil Thank you Heather!! Exactly this. The renovations I've made have paid for themselves and more. But even if they didn't, I'd still do it! I look at spending on my space as investing in my happiness. This place brings me joy, peace, and inspiration every single day 🤍 (Also, the building is rent-stabilized, so the landlord legally can not raise the rent on me, thank goodness.)
@@hummusbirrd I am totally in your camp on this. I always upgraded or improved upon my rentals and I never regretted it. Whether I own or rent I consider where I live MY home and I make it feel as such by spending a little time, effort and money to personalize it. Life is too short to live in a "home" that doesn't bring you joy and inspiration. IMHO.

She did an incredible job with the apartment! It looks so effortless, cozy and beautiful. Doesn't even look like it's in New York. Every corner is magical and the best part... her cat!

That is a very elegant apartment. I really liked the way she divided the spaces and the furniture,storage cabinets and artwork work together to keep the space organized. This is a sophisticated space.
This place is absolutely dreamy. Makes me feel like its the scene of a great novel- you can tell it makes her so happy
I absolutely love everything in this apartment. It’s small, but visually larger, which is a great illusion.
Brigette's upgrades to her home is inspiring. If you know you will be renting for more than a year, then it makes sense to make your environment as beautiful as you can afford. I really like the collection of clay pots and urns and the picture of "lets pretend it is Adam Driver." I love sweet Ollie. He is such a beautiful kitty.
Brigette's energy is so positive and radiant. The apartment is such a beauty of a space. You feel with all of the effort that she has gone to that it is her own! The palette; the vibe - just everything - truly illuminated itself with authentic beauty. Tangible and ethereal at the same time... there is an elegance and natural sense of chic, which cannot be denied!

I love her apartment. It's funny, I wouldn't decorate in that style for myself but I love how she's put it together & I love all the gold & the green from all the plants. The whole place gives a soothing, calming feeling that looks so thought out. My favorite room is the kitchen. Love. It's amazing.

I love it!! Finally an apartment that doesn’t look like IKEA junk. I also love French decor. My home is a combination of French Country, more formal Louis XV, and a bit of English cottage/manor. Overall I guess it’s Old World.
It was refreshing to see a young persons home that is actually beautifully and tastefully done in a quality manner and nit with junk that will just end up in a landfill.

I agree! I love the look! We sold our home that we remolded in an old world Italian look and our new one has more white and for awhile I wasn’t sure what to do with it.
I then started adding an old world look with neutrals and sage and it works!!
I just couldn’t do farmhouse like so many others had done.
Brooklyn has so many interesting apartments and townhouses and lofts. I could watch hours of videos just on adorable Brooklyn homes like that one.
It’s a gorgeous apartment and she looks gorgeous in it. The colour scheme perfectly compliments her Pre-Raphaelite beauty. The only thing I wouldn’t be happy about is not having a sink in the bathroom - but I could put up with that in order to live in such a beautiful space.

Do you not wash the sink afterwards? Good grief! This is such a First-world problem - it's too funny. You do know that in certain parts of the world, people have access to just one water tap that everyone in the household has to use for bathing, washing, cleaning and cooking? Christ O Mighty! It's no more than a hill of beans. 🤣🤣🤣

I love everything in this apartment but the lack of a sink in the toilet/bathroom. It is unsanitary to wash your hands (post bathroom visit) in a kitchen sink. The prior toilet/sink combo was a good compromise - function and safety over style.
Ok, the no sink in the bathroom was just a NO---but the rest of the apt is absolutely lovely and she made really interesting, smart design decisions. (But seriously, hygiene first. All bathrooms need a sink, soap, and water.)

I just love everything. But my favorite thing is how she used the space, using the small room for her bed and removing the sink in the bathroom are genius, it all just works so well and it's all so very beautiful. It's making me rethink all of my interior decor. I love the creamy while with the gold accents. And it all looks so comfortable. I'm super impressed. ❤
This is a timeless, comfortable and elegant apartment. So lovely! She has accomplished my idea of near decorating perfection here. Don't think I could have given up the bathroom sink, though.

I just love the way you decorated your apt. It is warm, personal, cozy ,and above all else inviting space. I have rented for the last 40 yrs. Every place that I lived in Imade improvements to. After all, it's my home. I had ball doing it. I'm. Now 77 yrs. Old and still am not finished redoing my space. It keeps me busy and gives my creative side a chance to emerge. It's one my passions.
This is the first apartment I've ever seen where I could see myself living exactly as Brigette has done it. LOVE IT. (Only quibble: I need a sink in the bathroom.) It's airy, it's personal, it's charming. It's an interesting layout and use of space (Love the hallway with the dressing table and storage. OMG.) The paintings are truly inspiring and really do seem to have dictated a lot of choices in the apartment. Her things are just lovely and interesting and somehow it doesn't feel cluttered at all. Bravo, Brigette! Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely beautiful and stunning apartment, I don't normally like too much neutrals but this apartment has so many shades of the color white, with touches of gold and sage green, and dark chocolate, which gives it a very cohesive and refreshing look, and yet relaxing as well. I love the cat who is obviously used to being a star in it's own right!
Gorgeous! When I was a little girl back in the 60s, I grew up in a railroad apartment in Brooklyn. My dad paid $75 a month! Of course, this was before Brooklyn became posh, but when you said that it brought back memories. There is a lot of charm in those old brownstones!
