Plus the hoa fees and mandatory costs of land tree maintenance. It's not what I thought it would be
Can you apply in a state that you plan to move. Can I apply in a state that I'm living now, but plan to move in a year to another state and have the house built in that state I'm moving too?

Those cards usually start at $200 and up. You only use less then 30% of the amount you put in. Never spend more. So just use it to pay Netflix or something small like that. Make sure you pay it on time. That's how you will be able to establish credit. Start saving money now even if it's only $50 a month. So by the time you're in a better place you'll have money for a down payment and closing cost. It's good that your looking into it now. I'm 30 years old and barely starting this process. Good luck.

Depends on the cost of living in your area. 80% of median income in my area is under $99k. Wealthy is subjective to the cost of living. $50K in NYC, San Francisco, etc you're in poverty, but you're doing just fine in Mississippi.
Habitat for Humanity only helps certain people. They ignored me and I now have to sit in my home at night and hope a gunshot doesn't come through my window and hit me or my little dog. Thanks for nothing, Habitat.
