Not really, tasvideos has the old run published at 1:29:35 and MrWint uploaded a 1:29:29 with Blastoise, but the Nidoking run would probably be faster than the Blastoise one if optimized to the same level for RNG manip.
This uses Nintendo's official Game Boy Player hardware attachment for the GameCube which can play original GB/GBC/GBA cartridges, GBI is homebrew which replaces its boot disc. You can read more about how to boot GBI here: www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.php?title=Booting_Homebrew
In terms of the route Squirtle solo might not actually be faster than Nidoking, there are some opportunities for improvement even in the Nidoking route and with the RNG fully botted like MrWint does it would drop a few seconds anyway
I'm already hyped for this video!
I had to make sure the description wasn't a joke. :O
Is there a place to check how fast a TAS with each route is?

I also find it amusing how he did a squirtle route and it’s still faster than the nidoran route

9:04 I can't buy anything for a dollar.
Its pronounced a bit more like "Tour-rows" :)
I always pronounced it "Tore-ohs."
Lol sorry I associate it with the Ancient Greek pronunciation of tauron due to my Greek minor :)
