Learned a number of things about my new car, thanks! - One of the features you did not mention is the "charge mode" Press and hold the HV/EV button and the gas engine will charge the traction battery. It will also decrease your MPG especially if you are not travelling at a steady higher rate so use it wisely. If you aren't going to use EV mode to make use of that power you just stored, it is a net loss. - With regard to the menus in the screen, besides pressing the menu button you can finger swipe up to show them, down to hide. - The A/C button on the fob will turn on the climate control for 10 minutes to whatever it was when you shut down so do this within 10 minutes of your planned departure time. This is the same as setting pre-departure climate control (if the car is not plugged in, the doors must be locked when using that feature). Using the button on the fob will lock the car before starting the climate control. The ICE will NOT start, this features uses heat pumps.
It does everything they said it does. Love the mileage I get on it! I’m still learning about all the cool options. I especially love the parallel parking feature
It’s very beautiful looking car , very tastefully made , I would love to own this car some day , kudos to toyota for making such a beautiful car , love u toyota
Just subbed. We looked at 2017 prius primes a couple days ago. The cheapest we could find was $22,000 with 55 miles. Of course, I would try to negotiate a lower price. But we decided to wait until the 2019's come out in Feb-March, then 2017's will go down more in price. We are in Los Angeles where everything's higher anyway. Enjoyed the video. Thank you
Luxottica, that's a great price. The car salesman where we saw the Prius Prime for $22,000 called me and said they would go down to $19,500 for that same Prius Prime. I said "out the door" and he said "no." I have a feeling that one's going to auction. They'll be sorry they didn't sell it to me at that price.
Ty. Love how detailed you get. I really think plug in hybrids are the way to go. Charge at home/work to cover commute, then gas for the long trips. Loved your Honda Clarity tour too. MAY THE LEGENDARY POINTER LIVE ON!
just wanna let you know that I'm a brand new Toyota associate and I've been watching all your 2018 Toyota videos in conjunction with my Toyota training.
Just bought my 2018 Accord after watching your videos couple of time. Thanks for your detailed and professional review. It helps me a lot when I made my decision. Good luck!
What I don't like about the dash is how far away and small that shared instrument panel screen is, and I don't like how the center touch screen goes up about 1.5 inches too high and blocks that panel behind it.
Loved this review! Thank you! I was curious about the back hatch and this video explained it! Love the see through glass on it's light display back there
I love the pointing hand! Reminds me of Soupy Sales with Fang and Snagglepoos. Where do I get one? Great video and very helpful as I'm a 2X Prius owner. Thanks.
Samurai Shampoo it'll prolly look the same. I mean the design has a futuristic look to it so I don't see it changing any time soon.. Plus past Priuses barely got refreshed ( exterior changes were very minor)
I got the Premium and I prefer it because; 1. The auto sensing rear view mirror never dims enough when a big truck is behind you. I have another car with this feature and it doesn't dim enough. Flipping up the mirror is a tried and tested solution. This also makes it way cheaper to replace the front window as there aren't any wires. 2. I owned a vehicle with a heated steering wheel and I never used it. Maybe it would be nice for those living in a cold climate. One more thing to go wrong. Heated seats on the other hand, aah! 3. Rear hatch privacy cover. The soft one that comes with the premium is flexible so you can load up the rear with groceries and it doesn't interfere with closing the hatch. It's alos easy to remove and store away. The hard one is like stowing a tripod. 4. I have fog lights on my other vehicle and I never use them. I could go over all of the features but you get the idea. This ad ons are great if you will use them. I save several thousand dollars and got all of the important features that I want.
Nice review, i am still thinking of getting this car, but still hangup on this and 2018 Chevy Volt. would be nice to also see a review on the Chevy too
Thank you for the very thorough review and describing all the features in so much detail, especially the infotainment system, which was something I was concerned about for its complexity. I listened to your whole review at 2x speed on youtube and it was perfectly clear.
Next year (or one after) we should be getting Android Auto since Car Play is available on the 2019 Avalon. Thank God, that huge display will finally get real use.
Still the best reviewer, good job Mike's! My fiance has been looking for a new car, this might just do it. She doesn't need speed, just gas. And question, have you been able to review for VW? Id love to see a review of the golf gti, I'm looking to get one.
Anyone live in Arizona or New Mexico that owns 1 of these? Let me know how the center (tablet)infotainment screen holds up against your 120 plus heat as well as all the rest of the plastic in a Pruis?
Can't find the answer to this...once the 25 miles on EV are driven and the plug-in battery is exhausted, does driving the car in hybrid mode ever recharge THAT battery, or does it recharge only the batteries used for hybrid use? Thank you to anyone in advance.
@@MikesCarInfo Thanks, man! Would be great if a long road trip could replenish the EV battery. But I understand if it's designed to only fully recharge with wall current.
@Anthony C you can put it in what Toyota calls charge mode I do believe you can recharge it a good bit with charge mode hope this helps I was looking into getting one of these because I'm tired of paying a crap ton of money on gasoline I hope big oil goes out of business
There is a half sized A/C car battery that powers accessories and then the hybrid battery. The hybrid battery can be charged from a wall outlet or Hybrid mode. Several videos cover this.
But when it comes to the Prius. I could ignore the ugly front and back, but the interior with all the white and shiny black plastic look like they are impossible to keep clean. not to mention the lack of andoid auto and voice commands. The ioniq looks so much better, does pretty much the same (minus some features) and is cheaper.
Learned a number of things about my new car, thanks!

I just can't get enough of your yellow pointer. 😂
Love that little hand
Agreed. Totally made my day!
One of the most beautiful colors ever and exclusive to this model
Who else actually felt special when Mike thanked us for watching?
It does everything they said it does. Love the mileage I get on it! I’m still learning about all the cool options. I especially love the parallel parking feature
That yellow pointing hand stick was unexpected lol
It’s very beautiful looking car , very tastefully made , I would love to own this car some day , kudos to toyota for making such a beautiful car , love u toyota
Just bought a Prius Prime, learned a lot from your video. Thank you!
Fabulous review of the vehicle. Thank you for posting.
I can not live without your reviews!!!
you are sick...see a doctor

You can turn off the annoying beeping when in reverse. Mine only beeps once.
that plastic pointing hand cracked me up!! very funny mate, that got me to subscribe right there lmao
THUMBS UP
This is the most detailed review I’ve seen on this car
It`s my first love car. I love Toyota PRIUS!!!
just wanna let you know that I'm a brand new Toyota associate and I've been watching all your 2018 Toyota videos in conjunction with my Toyota training.
let me know if there is anything in the training that I need to add to my videos :)
Thanks for an excellent thorough review. I bought a 2020 model, but most everything applies from your recap.
Very informative video....learned alot.
Just bought my 2018 Accord after watching your videos couple of time. Thanks for your detailed and professional review. It helps me a lot when I made my decision. Good luck!
do you find early production issue? cuz we have uneven gap
Going to buy one tomorrow. Used salvaged title but it's only 16500. Excited
My dream hybrid sedan! Amazing job bro.
This is the one........Toyota has got it right here. Thanks.
Keep up the reviews! They are amazing! You deserve so many more views and subs.

Nice review. Thanks Mike.
Is the north American version is made in USA? Coz it seems quite different in details.

That pointer is the shhhhhh
Loved this review! Thank you! I was curious about the back hatch and this video explained it! Love the see through glass on it's light display back there
Impressed with your camera work and attention to detail! Most excellent!
Best car on the market for the price. Best value
I love the pointing hand! Reminds me of Soupy Sales with Fang and Snagglepoos. Where do I get one? Great video and very helpful as I'm a 2X Prius owner. Thanks.
There's so many Priuses (regular Prius, Prius Prime, Prius V and Prius C)... This is the best looking Prius tho
Baasil F. Lol Prius cannot look good
Agreed. Best one.
GoodDay your opinion
Its a tesla, lexus, nsx, and all of that stuck in a prius body and name.
Samurai Shampoo it'll prolly look the same. I mean the design has a futuristic look to it so I don't see it changing any time soon.. Plus past Priuses barely got refreshed ( exterior changes were very minor)
I wish I got the advanced version. I love the Premium, but the Advanced is amazing. Maybe 2 generations from now :)
I got the Premium and I prefer it because;
1. The auto sensing rear view mirror never dims enough when a big truck is behind you. I have another car with this feature and it doesn't dim enough. Flipping up the mirror is a tried and tested solution. This also makes it way cheaper to replace the front window as there aren't any wires.

@@alfmeister13 I have that dilemma......premium or advanced....
This is the car I will get next
Great review as usual. You never disappoint. When you get the chance, can you please review the new Volvo Xc40?! Please and thank you!
Marylyn Mongoue YES THE XC40!
This is the car I wanted, but couldn't afford. Settled for a Kia Forte.
Great review. Later in the year I will be buying this baby!!! 2019 that is!
Awesome review! Best I've seen & the pointer is cool.
Thank you... Please share if you can :)
That finger has me in tears! 😂😂
Thanks for the great review Mike.

yo mike, hands down ur reviews are the best in my opinions. Just wondering when u gonna do a review on the new 2019 Ram rebel. Keep it up mate
Nice! Thanks! Have a good one!
Still the best reviewer, good job Mike's!
My fiance has been looking for a new car, this might just do it. She doesn't need speed, just gas.
And question, have you been able to review for VW? Id love to see a review of the golf gti, I'm looking to get one.
I like this used PHEV car and I buy this 1 day.
Mike how come there are no diesel Hybrid/Plug-in cars available?
Awesome Video wow
What can I do with voice recognition?
Very nice review!
MikesCarInfo can you please do a car review on the new 2018 Malibu Premier Redline edition?
Are you just done on the original one because the Prius prime looks weird to me
🔥 as usual thanks.
Great info Mike, thanks.
Anyone live in Arizona or New Mexico that owns 1 of these? Let me know how the center (tablet)infotainment screen holds up against your 120 plus heat as well as all the rest of the plastic in a Pruis?
Subbed just for mr yellow hand.
Love the pointer
What good are aerodynamics when most of us sit 80 percent in traffic?
Mike does the Prius Prime advanced get a federal discount right now?Bob
yes.
What is the average on gas and how much distance it travels on battery
Samurai Shampoo thnks bro
Do you know if there is any difference between the 2017 Advanced model and this one?
Looks about the same to me
Very high quality and thorough review

My understanding is it will charge the battery to some extent but it will not be fully charged unless you plug it in.

The sunglass storage is apparently now for your cell phone.
im getting all different weights
what is the curb weight for this car
Plus: 3365
Premium: 3375
Advanced: 3375

That intro was Claustrophobic!! Lololol.
Dude, that is for your sunglasses or glasses...not your cell phone!
Great job with the review Mike. Thank you
what are the differences between 2017 and 18?
It looks about the same to me.
Didnt show rear seats folded down and passenger seat folded down.
HEY THIS IS MIKE!!
I darn near shat myself. RIP headphone users.
OMG this pointing stick !!! 10/10 would like share and subscribe.

Nice car but I bought a Honda Civic I am very happy with it was just considering a hybrid for my next vehicle.
This is not a prius key 15:07
I was waiting for someone to notice :)
lol how did you catch that?! 😂
I have a jeep and that is the key fob for it
Its the same with our key we just bought our prius prime days ago..
I want a coupe Prius.
15:15 Startup
It’s Electric 🎶🎶🎶🎶
that version is not available in Germany.
When he was talking about turning on the vehicle, he pulled out the wrong key fob
do you know a Jamie from sparks Toyota?
The first time he used his pointer I laughed, fucking comical
Hahaha that little hand 😂
but one thing i hate is the tail lights
Cool auto
He never showed how he adjusted the Heads Up display!!!
As of February 2019..
Still not available in black..
Still almost impossible to find in Georgia without a $5,000 deposit and pre order..
WTF Toyota...
Not bad lookin.... For a prius...
That yellow pointer though, 😆
It would have been nice to show the radio, and not just say that the car has one. Looks like a real pain to tune.
N still badass.
Can you make a movie at night on this toyota prius prime?
nice glare you can't see the screen
Why can't Toyota make a car with the Prime front end and the Prius rear end????
MetaView7 Because that would be exactly what everyone wants.
Yummy car but too much expensive in Turkey.
like No.437 ( yellow hand )
Toyota screwed this up in a major way by making it a 4 seater. What a waste. Even the EV rebate in my area dropped the amount due to this
Is there a plug in hybrid that is a 2 seater?
