Great show as always Jeffro. Made my hands start cramping just watching you do this. Bless you
Glad to see you using safety glasses...thumbs up Cuz.
Thank you for the info I’m going to be painting my 283 in my 67 impala I’m not gonna take it out but I’m gonna get all these techniques to try to clean thank you for the advice
Jeff, great job as always! I'm a bit behind in your vids so I'm going back through to make sure I see them all. I'm thinking I'll need to do this to mine too, it's still nasty.
Awesome videos! Subscribed
Just found your channel Jeff. Great videos! Enjoying watching the engine detailing segments - Great Tips! Thank You!!!
Welcome! We'll be doing more engine bay stuff in the near future. Plus we have over 490 videos up.
This is the second "copper" Ford I've run across today looking at information.
First one was a Cinnamon Frost 67 Cougar over at West Cost Classic Cougars.
I also have a "copper" Ford: 67 Mustang GT coupe 390, originally Burnt Amber.
Totally a sign!
Love that color. The truck is supposed to be Sequoia Brown, But along life's way it got swathed in a gold.
Another valuable tool would be a plastic bond spreader. You can slice it into varying widths and use it as a scraper to clear off flat areas of the engine or inner fenders. Worked for me.
Good idea! We've done that before with pretty good success. Engines are a bit tougher because of the nooks and crannies.
Perfect timing...just ripped out the 200 L6 from the Stang' for new rings.
Pretty nice job, Jeff.....Clean up like this does take some effort/ elbow grease...But hey,, sometimes a pressure washer is not an option or readily available....
Wire wheels work well,,, BUT I hate how those little wires come off and get EVERYWHERE...You better be wearing Safety Glasses when using them...
I like using mostly Cheap plastic bristle brushes that I pick up at any Dollar store...Mostly in the Kitchen/bath section,, Heck I've found that a Toilet Bowl brush (both the Flat and round style) works great at getting into all kinds of areas...I've also found many uses with a brush that is used in cleaning Baby bottles/nipples... Works great at getting into small nooks and crannies...
I too use Carb cleaner, Brake cleaner, as well as a Degreaser that I make by Dissolving around a 1/2 Cup of the Original/Creamy GO-JO in a Gallon of water...Then pouring it into old spray bottles...Works good and is cheap... lol
GLOVES ??? PFTtttttt Don't you know ?? A REAL Mechanic has Grease under his fingernails...
Like the go-jo thing..!
Definitely need to add that to the Arsenal...
i use to tape off water passages ...i stopped doing that years ago ...never had any issue at all
I hear ya. If we don't we take flak.
Jeff,
Thanks for that and exactly what I was looking for! For the non-movable parts you mentioned glass beading. Is a thorough cleaning, wire wheeling, rust converter, painting, sufficient? Or do you always recommend glass beading?
Thanks, G
G, we are going to discuss paints next Thursday. Glass bead is only if you have the ability. Some parts are a little to hard to wire wheel.
@@AutoRestoMod Jeff, Sounds good. Thanks.
Cerakote Air Cure. Won’t change color and won’t flake off. Cerakote will decrease under hood temps.
I'll look into that we're about to rebuild the engine in that truck so that could be kind of nice.
I'm with Cam on this. Also the reason you never see the hood open on my Maverick, HaHa...
Eh, it will be sweet when done. But yeah. Kinda wonder "why" now. LOL
That dist hold down bolt hole didn't go all the way thru to the valley?
Yeah. But the chance of a lot of debris getting down in there is small.
So do you have any advice including my 283 inside one 67 impala if you do that would be great
Not sure I understand the question.
I have a transmission I need to clean. It's really filthy...
Just get a nice little old lady with her wash pale to come and clean for you .
IM told Diesel makes a great solvent cleaner/degreaser. You may stink more and it wont conveniently spray out of a can but 1 gallong or $5 worth will clean your whole engine
Dirty Job... ! At one point it needs to be done.. nice Alternative to get it done..!
Thanks 🙏... 👍
Thanks!
is that my green hemi cuda on your calendar ?Canadian car
Lol I dunno. Ill look and see!
@@AutoRestoMod where can i send u a pic
Look if you can on lower windshield of car if it has a yellow ziebart sticker
CO2 blasting would be a better option than glass beads. Of course that depends on if you can get the equipment.
Agreed.
Q trabalho.
Prefiro retirar o motor.
Sí. Pero tendríamos que hacer todo el camión entonces.
Oven cleaner is cheaper and works just as good
That is a great idea.
All I use, I think it works better.
my Fe looks worse than yours did but I would have pushed it out the door and used my Pressure washer anyway..
The driveway angle here is pretty steep. So for me that isn't an option. Believe me, it is easier.
better than carb cleaner but really requires gloves and safety glasses. Oven cleaner
Great idea. But oven cleaner would need to be done outside even more so than car cleaner. I'll try that next time though!
@@AutoRestoMod i buy it the case from the dollar store. I rather use it for the deep cleaning of any part before i put them into my parts washer
episode 385 should have been a 385 series 429 460 370?
LOL
dude..... save those valve covers!.
repaint them and paint those letters white!
We will, I even fixed a dent in the passenger one.
Oven cleaner and a pressure washer is so much easier
Not a fan of oven cleaner.
Duct tape... I'll try that.
All you need now is zip ties and bailing wire.
Just waisted 20 mins of my life for nothing
You misspelled wasted. And I wasted five thinking about how to respond. I'll call it even.😄
Couldn’t disagree more. Just bought a 70 F100 with a 390 that’s pretty nasty. Great videos. Keep em coming.👍🏼
Wow another waste of 20 mins goofy dude
