Красиво, конечно. Но мне кажется, что это и есть качественный суррогат. Что было, то было, и прошлого не вернуть. Фредди оставил нам уникальный голос и память. Любое подражательство всегда хуже оригинала, как бы качественно оно ни звучало.
Only George Michael achieved a similar performance (do you remember him in Somebody To Love, or with Lisa Stanfield singing These Are the Days of Our Lives...amazing!!!)
I think that’s the new voice. And Freddie would approve. Sorry but Adam can’t stand up against that voice and talent. Tom is doing it too f*ing perfect
@telmolicious actually Keane were on hiatus for a few yrs, but came back about 6 yrs ago w/ a new album, and they've been on World Tour 2024! I've seen them 3 times, they are absolutely amazing live!
As a technical singer, Mr Chaplin outshines Mr Mercury who tended to avoid the highest notes (Roger would do those) in his live performances, probably understandably to preserve his voice on long tours.
@@megakombat8149 true he was an addict, and had gone into rehab more than once, hitting his lower point in 2015, but there are some versions of songs in 2016, when he was doing way better, and he stills sounds great. Plus the things he recorded during lockdown are great too. I mean, the guy by that time would not have been able to tolerate the pressure of touring with Brian and Roger due to his intermitent addiction, but the thing is that even when he was using drugs occassionally, his voice was still great. And when he recovered, he still sounded great. And if Keane took time from each other from 2014 to 2018 approx, when they started recording Cause and Effect, was not only because of Tom, but also because of other issues. Basically, between 2010 and 2019 Tom did sing, apart from that long hiatus in 2015.
Tom credits Freddie and Queen as a major musical influence, his tone is very similar to Freddie’s and he’s admired and covered a few Queen songs in the past, Under Pressure being one of my favourites. He always does his best to do Queen songs justice
I saw Keane live twice back in Chicago for their first and second album. Tom’s voice is amazing live and pitch perfect. After watching this song I’ve become obsessed with this underrated Queen song.
Not enough people are praising how damn close Tom's voice is to Freddie's. It's ridiculously similar. He gets the inflections so right, if they were able to do an AI of Freddie singing with Tom's voice, I'd barely be able to tell the difference ❤

I never get tired of watching this performance. Tom Chaplin is perfect! He is an excellent singer! Not only does he have a wonderful voice, but he also performed the song perfectly. However, it's funny to watch the English being so English; all of them sitting quietly in their chairs. If this show were in Brazil, people would stand up and dance, letting out their emotions and ecstasy, and applaud the singer and the band with immense enthusiasm, shouting 'bravo, bravo, bravo!'
I thought that too. British audience is so lame. Maybe they were asked to be quiet for the recording? He'd be cheered on quite a lot in America esp during those incredible high notes
He’s a good singer but not a patch on Freddie. This is one of my absolute favorites and he had nothing of Freddie’s flamboyant performance. Sorry. Just my humble opinion. Freddie was unique.
They did the song justice, for sure! Can I just say how amazing Brian May still looks at 75 or so... He has hardly aged at all, except for the grey hair.
