Happy Sunday guys! ❤️ Any questions just drop them below! I reply to all my comments here and on Instagram! 🥰📸
Do you know which lens I hold in my thumbnail? :))
Which newer rgb lights are the ones you’re recommending at the end of your video ?
You're a good source of inspiration!!
The Ikea trick is great 👍
If you are on the tightest budget, I recommend the light modifier/Diffuser being a shoot thru umbrella.
It's not sexy like a softbox but it works great and spreads light everywhere so you have to get creative on ways to control it.
Another Cheap solution is foam core boards, white to reflect light and black to "absorb" the light (Negative Fill). They also can be spray painted with silver/chrome paint to be more reflective. Copper paint works well on certain skin colors.
Learning the Inverse Square Law will save you money. No need for a black background if you know the basics of how it works don't worry about the math equation.
Thank you, Laura
When I started photography at 16 I modeled and practiced with myself for yeaaars. It really does help you become better and know how to use the lighting, angles, etc. ❤❤
I love the "i personally love waking up every morning, with all my creative mess around me...." and the place is spotless, like from a interior magazine editorial :D I was like wth, usually my studio looks like it just survived a direct hurricane hit :D
Your heart is in the right place ❤️ legitimate help for hobbyists like me. I’m a late bloomer in photography. I am in the process of setting up a home studio and having my family as my portrait subjects 😁 also interested in interior still life photography. You’re great 👍🏼

Hi Laura! Super love this video! Im am an aspiring photographer and this video gave me so much useful information! Thank you for making this video! ❤
I've just discovered your channel, and wow, so glad I did. I'm in love with studio photography, I'm thinking of taking the next step and making a "studio corner" at home and this video was so informative than many others I've seen. Cheers from Argentina!
Awww Jeremias! So nice to hear that you enjoy my channel! 😍 And yes yes yessss! Build that studio! I was crazy excited when I decided to do it and now I can’t stop using it. Not just for professional work but also for my own creative personal projects! 📸 You will enjoy it a lot, so glad this video helped! Big hug all the way from London to Argentina!
Just started doing product and portrait photography at home. Love it! Great video, and fantastic work! Can't wait to see this channel grow!!
Noah! that's amazing to hear! I share the same passion for portrait photography and product. Being able to do it at home is just so handy. You can spend all the time you want experimenting. Thank you so much for your words! I really hope my channel grows one day! 😃 Big hug! ♥️
In 1982 my brother and I started a small portrait photography business. Our studio was the front room of our small flat and for outdoor work we just used local parks ( we got kicked out of Tatton Park in Cheshire once ). Now my still life photography studio is our dinning table in the front room of my house , though my wife is never happy about it . I guess you just use what you have. Good video and presentation.
Amazing story! Thanks for sharing it! A perfect example of using what we have for what we love! ❤️ As soon as we can get work done and get creative, it's all that matters! :) I can imagine some people may not be happy with our creative mess... 😀 I hope she understands. :D Big hug! 📸
Wonderful video, wonderful tips. Muchisimas gracias!

Wonderful video thank you! Am aiming to create my own home studio in the next few months so this is helpful to see what the essentials needed are (I knew what they were but it is useful to know the types of which things to get).
Amazing to hear that Ted! It always helps to see what different photographers have right? It helps a lot to choose your own possibilities. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! :)

QUE BUENOS VIDEOS LAURA , GRACIAS POR TODOS LOS TIPS,,
Laura this was so great! Muchisimas gracias!
You are very welcome April! Un abrazo! 😊❤
The other essential pice of equipment is an L Bracket, the camera sits beautifully on a ball head, and is a joy to use shooting portraits and fashion on a tripod.
Your enthusiasm is infectious! Wish I could bottle it up. Great tip on using the curtain rod holder - I can't believe it never occurred to me. Thanks!
Awww thank you Steve! Glad I can transmit that through the camera. I still struggle to record believe it or not. 😅 Big hug! I hope you enjoy my channel! :)
This video was really helpful, I have come to see this at just the right time as I was figuring out how to install the backlight and the ikea hack was great, thank you!
Hi Mateo! That’s amazing to hear! 😍 Glad this video helped. The Ikea hack is so good right? Way cheaper and you get to save loads of space by not setting up background stands. :)) I hope you enjoy my channel! :)
Thank you so much for the tips!
You are very welcome Nickos! :)) I hope they were useful! 🥰
Next month I’ll be setting up my first home studio so this was very helpful! Subscribed!
Hi Isaac! Amazing! So nice to know that you're setting up your home studio! 😍 And thanks for subscribing, I hope you enjoy my videos! 😊
I must say, very inspirational Ms. Laura. I really liked the part where you talked about how used orange light on that guitar to make the video more interesting (as I have been paying attention to that guitar the whole time haha). Great sum up at the end of the video as well! Lighting is the soul of photography in my opinion. I have been self-practicing photography for around 3 years as a hobby, but I think with this I have finally decided to pick up a flash and be a little bit more serious!
Really nice video, thanks a lot, for all the tips, really helpful. Thanks
You are very welcome! So happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed it! 😍 Big hug!
I love you! You are the best!
Thank you so much!
Thanks, Laura! 🙏 Appreciate your 👌 hard work, 💪 energy and 👍 enthusiasm.
Awww thank you so much! 😍 I really appreciate your support and your nice words. I hope you're enjoying my channel! ❤️🙏🏼
Not sure why your following isn’t already in the millions! This is so helpful! Loving tour channel 😊
Thanks Laura. Great video. I really enjoyed it a learnt a lot. Best wishes.
You are very welcome Chris! So good to know that you enjoyed it and took some value from it! 😊
I hope this channel grows bigger and more people benefit from this good information. I like her style , speak and heart. Thanks ( sorry for my bad english )
Another VERY inexpensive diffuser for those on a tight budget is an umbrella. Umbrellas can be used with either flash or continuous lights, they give the round catch lights, & will easily leave enough money left over for the paper backdrop. Thank you for sharing your ideas & knowledge. I'm definitely subscribing!
You are very welcome Jim! :) Good insights!
I hope you enjoy my channel! Big hug! ♥️
Great video Laura. Keep them coming
Thank you so much! 😍 I definitely will! 🥰🙏🏼

Hola Carlos! Thank you so much! I really hope you enjoy my videos! Sending you loads of love! ❤️ 📸
Great content!!!
Thank you! 😊❤️📸
This is my dream 😊 I recently split up with my partner of ten years since then I have had my cameras on the bed next to me where I spend a lot of time lol. Everywhere I look I see something worth capturing. Unfortunately I’m stuck in the mode of not picking a niche. Being a full time wheelchair user has some practical restrictions to what I want to capture, but I’ll work around it!
Hi Laura,
Beautiful video, I love it. I have one question regarding all these gears, I am very beginner here so I don't know how to use these gears? is there any video or tutorial to understand these gears?
Hey, thanks for the great videos! I have a question about the stands, I tried the SL60 LED (ended up returning it because I decided flash was what I needed more at the time) but seeing yours made me think, I tried mounting it on different sorts of stands from Amazon (Neewer and other brands) but they all were kind of flimsy and especially with a bigger modifier like a 90cm octa they would literally bend the stand. Is there any model you can recommend for heavier weights like that? Looking for something not too expensive but a thing I can trust won’t tip over when I happen to breathe on it 😝
Thanks a lot!
Geacias laura por los sudtitulos .gracias por este último video esta buenísimo muy creativo y suoer apasionado
Muchas gracias Lucas! Ya tocaba poner subtítulos. A ver si puedo poner en todos a partir de ahora...

Thanks!
what i love is youre accent❤❤
I am about to buy stuff for my home studio, this will be super helpful. I'll send you pictures in the comments once I set up my home studio.
Hi Laura i loved your very informative video ! Do you need with the flashlight a flash trigger like the godox x2t-c transmitter or that peace of gear is optional? Hope you are doing great, and have a great day 😊
Hi Ivana! Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this video! :) Yes. The flash doesn't come with trigger or sync cable so you will need to get one separately. As long as it is compatible, they will work. :) Have an amazing Sunday! :) ♥️
Thank you!
You are very welcome Vaselin! :)
