Renske, I am so sorry you had to come to the difficult decision of letting Ivar go. No matter how hard it was to do, you gave him his dignity in the end. Ivar spent his life with you like the true lizard king he was and nobody else would have given him such a magestic existence in captivity as you did. It is so obvious he meant everything to you in the care you gave him. I understand your heartbreak from the loss of my own monitor lizards.

Super lief van je! Toch voelt het als gefaald hebben op zo een moment. Nu er meer onderzoek gedaan is weet ik ook dat Ivar niet te redden was en alles met ouderdom te maken had. Hij had spondylose in de rug en spierdystrofie, een tumor achter zijn oog, meerdere bloedingen en hij was vrijwel helemaal blind… ik kon niks meer doen en alles was niet te voorkomen. Dat weet ik nu en dat geeft mij een beetje rust..
@@Qualityreptiles Het zal altijd naar blijven om je diertjes waar je zo ongelooflijk veel om geeft te verliezen :( Helemaal als je er zo machteloos voor staat.... Geef het tijd, en geef de liefde die je voor ivar had vooral weer extra aan de rest van je prachtige beestjes :)
Renske, I have followed your amazing videos since the Quolibet days, and you are one of the most dedicated reptile keepers on this planet. You have a huge and loving heart, and you should rest easy that you made Ivar’s life as rich and comfortable as he could have ever had!
I want to start off saying condolences. And Don’t you quit!! You did nothing wrong. Sometimes we don’t notice medical problems until it’s too late. I bread the Salvadorii in the us in 2021 so I keep them as well and put in the same love and effort you do and this is always my biggest nightmare. And I’m so sorry you have to experience it. Please please please keep going. Reach out to me any time if you need another bigger Salvadorii keeper to talk to. I promise I’ll be there if you need me. Take your time to grieve this is no small loss. Just don’t leave us in the community. Getting a new one isn’t replacing just remember that. You are helping the community see what it takes to keep these on this level. One day I’ll put my videos up but for now you’re one of the few out there. Good luck w everything. Remember you have people in the community who are here to help.

My heart breaks when I see the loss I remember from my own monitor lizard who passed away very suddeny last year as well. I am sure he will be watching over you. All strenght in these sad days.
