  • In the latest of our “Movies That Inspire Me” series, presented in partnership with FilmStruck, Dominik makes his case for why David Lynch's film is a landmark cinematic achievement for the 21st century.
Dominik explains that while it may be difficult to engage with the dreamlike logic on initial viewing, Lynch taps into a universal feeling of loneliness and desertion that’s universal.

Assassination of Jesse James is one my top 5 movies, and this man is so underrated.

It can be said that the film The Assassination of Jesse James by the cowardly Robert Ford is not only a revisionist neo-western....
but also one of the best films in the world, which has moved away from the corporate filmmaking method and is a kind of real cinema that approaches Aparatos theory.
It can be said that this movie is more like an independent movie in the world than a Hollywood movie! And also the actors in the movie, all of them playing the best, including Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, Rockwell It can be said that this is the only movie that Brad Pitt really played..

@@ghostland8646 so he makes a movie you don’t like and you choose to ignore the other great works he’s made? That’s a mature take.

@@Frank-vc3ss read again … I like blonde. just saying he not underrated

@@ghostland8646 where in your comment would I see that you liked blonde? lol all you said was blonde director is not underrated. He is certainly underrated in the sense he isn’t very well known despite making great movies, and he makes them so rarely. Definitely underrated. and Blonde is a great movie that has been unfairly torn apart because people think it’s a biopic.

Mulholland Drive is still my favourite film ever. I love hearing the thoughts of anybody else who enjoyed the movie.

You go ahead and send in your donation. Psychotic filmmakers who create films about psychotic lesbians contribute greatly to the deep needs of the human race at this time.

He nailed the film in a few words. Much can be written about Mulholland Drive, but the essence is pretty much what Andrew Dominik says here.

The only movie I saw 7 times in the theater upon it's release. This film is has so many layers. One such layer: Character arcs through dream logic.

All the actors did great in this movie. Brad Pitt arguably did the best acting in his career but I don't think this is only movie in which he played, he has long range in his acting and you can watch his filmography to notice that. The film is a great piece of cinema and one of my favourites of that decade.
