I owned none of these things as a kid. Most of the non-toy Star Wars items I had were usually model kits or those "thing to do and make" books. I remember making a Darth Vader helmet out of one of those cylindrical salt containers once.
Lot of cool stuff. The Duel at the Death Star racing set looks pretty cool, and I am with you on that RotJ bookcase. Would make a cool display for figures.
I had that shelf but after years and years it fell apart but I do still have the bottom part that says Return of the Jedi also I remember Mom & I getting the race car set for my Dad Christmas of 1978 🤔 so him and I could race it around and crash the cars gosh that is such a great memory sadly Dad passed in 2015 he helped me build my collection up till then 😔
The Sigma pieces are so lovely (Except for that awkward tape dispenser)...the Muppet ones are great. I did have Sit 'n Spin, but not the sweet Ewok one.
They used to use string to tie up packages for shipping, before packing tape became ubiquitous. So that would have a ball of string or twine in it, and you could just throw a few quick loops around the box. If you look in your mothers attic and find all boxes tied up with string. This is why.
I have that book! The price guide was useless even when it was published, but it was great reference material for the time. The Marshmallow shapes were just that, Marshmallows in the shape of Star Wars characters sold in the UK either in boxes or individually in a counter box. If you didn't get them in the States you weren't missing much, they were disgusting. If you let them go stale, you could probably have used them as erasers. 🤢🤮😂
Orange 'flavour' sounds like Circus Peanuts candy, just that. That doughy marshmallow with a faint orange taste, that most people say is disgusting. Can't say I hate it.
I knew about them only because I had this book growing up! I used to obsessively flip through the book, wishing I had so many of the toys shown in it, wishing I could see better pictures of many of the toys. It was the days before you could just go on some collector forum or youtube and look at a whole gallery of images of any toy and a lot of the images in the book were so small or were black and white so I couldn't exactly tell what some of the toys even looked like. It was a very fun book to flip through.
We had Burger Chef when I was a kid .I think they were the first fast food tie in of the franchise. They did posters, tumblers, kids meals, as far back as like July 77.
R2-D2 string dispenser? That’s just weird, I don’t use a lot of string, but always have needle & thread to repair clothing as clothes get holes every now and then. Duel at Death Star racing set looks pretty cool, would’ve played with it when I was younger and definitely with ya on the RotJ bookcase, could fit a bunch of figures in there.
I remember seeing the sit and spin in 1984 and the ROTJ bookshelf,Vader comb and laces in 1983 here in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺. That passbook was from an old bank here in Sydney and yes I remember that too
I had a Sesame Street sitnspin. A throw pillow is a small pillow you put on a sofa or chair. A passbook is a wallet you put your passport and travel checks or cards in. I had a coin thing with Star Wars it was Return of the Jedi. Flavour is the way british people spell flavor just like they spell color colour.
Never had any of these, but I did have Star Wars curtains and bed sheets/blanket and I think a Star Wars toothbrush. Also, my dad bought me a Star Wars digital watch for my birthday. He gave it to me early and about a week before he died.
I received the Star Wars duel at the death star racing set for Christmas and it sucked! The cars would not stay on the track. My parents took it back and got a refund. Also had all the Burger Chef fun meals.
I have this one signed by Steve Sansweet himself. I'd want that Jabba pillow to go along with the ROTJ sleepingbag. It is weird, though, his arms do look like bones and why does Jabba have as belly button? I really want that ROTJ book shelf, too. I'd definitely put my figures on it. I imagine the panel in the corner of the puzzle with the SW logo on it pops out so you can slide rest of the tiles around. That ESB centerpiece IS badbutt. That will look awsome as a lamp base. Thanks for the video
I was wondering why JUNKMAN wears a shirt with " Wampas" on it? Lol. I assumed it was a FAKE team shirt , for fun. Like maybe JUNKMAN went to whatever college is the " Chippewa's " ( Indian tribe). I think its like, Indiana State or something. I know, I'm weird.
Never saw any of those, wow! 6:55 that's Davros! 😂 8:08 oh myyyy... 😏 8:35 Stormtrooper should get a medical check if he's whizzing like that 11:09 "is that a rocket in your pocket? Oh, it's Darth Vader? I'd get tested for everything down there right away!" 😂
I can believe it. Star Wars, Star Trek, put out merch on a ridiculous level. NASCAR did the same thing. T-shirts, believe it or not, remote control cars. It would blow your mind 🤯
The R2D2 string dispenser is for high-strung individuals. And C3P0 is coming out of the gun turret because... well, if you were cooped up in a gun turret, wouldn't you want to get out some time, too?!
There could've been a time c3po and R2 we're doing repairs out there, and C3 pipped out of a hatch: " hey commander ( cliff Calvin guy from cheers ) we need a new hyper spanner panel thingy over here " . And so the C3PO turret toy is born??
we had return of the jedi dixie bathroom cups in 1983 i think and maybe disposable picnic cups with Return of the Jedi characters on them, or maybe it was just the dixie bathroom cups?
I remember we collected a few SW wall posters from burger Chef, them are snow boots ,I purchased a pair of snow boots 1980 because they looked like Rebel fleet Hoth boots.
The Race At the Death Star track was either HotWheels or Tyco. And a passbook is something from before computers. When you'd make a transaction at the bank, you'd give the teller your passbook and they'd make an entry in it of the transaction.
My first question I would have had, you answered just as I thought it, in the first 20 seconds of the video, who writes it? And wasn't disappointed or actually surprised. Steven Stansweet.
Did the train maker also make slot racing tracks? Cause that's what that was. I remember that one. Except it may have been the slotless kind, where the cars could switch lanes. Also, back in the day, before computers became common, you kept track of your savings account with a pass book.
I saw a vid where the South Park guys were talking about licensing, turning down diapers bc it just wasn't appropriate. George aint havin' none of that tegrity. I love George, he's awesome, but umbrellas and soap dishes and crayon holders? Come on man.
I used to go dumpster diving on UA-cam, me and you be my sister. And the Star Wars 2 and death set is from lino toys. As the train set and the previous package you shown.
Hey Junkman I came upon a great item for a great price that I bought, it’s an episode 1 collection Jabba the Hutt who originally came with slime and creatures to eat but mine was loose and didn’t have that, but his mouth opens and he rotates his upper body and his arms also move, he’s a classic 3.75” scale figure and he was only $9.99
I had the coin purse as a kid. I had several of them actually because I hated dropping coins out of the pockets of my dress slacks that my mom made me wear to church. Hated those slash pockets. The rubbery coin purses kept the coins in your pocket very well. Loved that it looked like you were feeding Jabba your coins. I remember seeing the headboard in catalogs but never saw one in person. The C-3PO in the Hoth Rebel Turret is really weird! Great video!
ewok passport was a saving account for school kids. they called it passport because some banks would stamp with small maps around the world. The idea was it was your pass to saving money. The jedi umbrella was readily available item at Shows (a bit like country fairs)
Bank passbooks were issued by banks when you opened an account. They had blank pages and every time you made a deposit or withdrawal, the teller would put the passbook in a printer and it'd print the date, transaction and new account total. I had one as a child in the 1970s up through college or so in the 1990s until they discontinued them.
9:32 I didn't have this either, but I really loved Burger Chef as a kid. They had kids meals before anyone else... yes, before McDonald's Happy meals. The whole thing is a tray that your food would have come in. It's hard to see it in this image, but the bottoms part would have folded into a little tray to hold your food with parts popping out so that the food items would have sat down inside. The top part (with that awesome landspeeder paper cutout) would have been like a backboard for you to look at while you ate. They always had the games or art or something fun.
What the?!!!! I had that Empire Strikes Back Centerpiece for my birthday party. It was a Star Wars themed birthday party, obviously. I even had an R2D2 cake made from a R2 shaped cake pan. I found pics of it a couple of years back. I also had the paper table cloth. All my cousins made fun of me for loving Star Wars. That's why I don't talk to them anymore. But just seeing that was awesome.
if you had the soapdish landspeeder and not the regular one, that could work as a vehicle for your figures, it has a trunk space in the front for figures like r2 to ride in and it could possibly slide across your carpet, i never had the landspeeder, i think my parents didn't start collecting for us until Empire came out?
6:16 I'm pretty sure that PaulBloomlittledevil is right (see his comment on this video). I didn't have that one, but I did have similar ones where the top left piece isn't like the others. It doesn't have the same little flanges along the side holding it in place because it's meant to be removed after purchase. I think it's just there to hold the image in place prior to sale.
i always loved them off brand toys. they made good Fodder for fireworks during the holidays 100% guess thats why my parents quit buying me toys and got me video games instead during the 90s =)
I don't think (and I bet Junkman agrees) that a collectible should be given value if it's literally just slapping SW logos on pre existing products like Sit N' Spin 🤣😂😂 The soap holder at least required a mold of characters and a vehicle to be made.
That is a great book. Had two of them cause i cut out the price guide for figure in one of them.
I owned none of these things as a kid. Most of the non-toy Star Wars items I had were usually model kits or those "thing to do and make" books. I remember making a Darth Vader helmet out of one of those cylindrical salt containers once.

I’m sorry about your dad. My dad passed in 2015, too.
If watching the Junkman’s channel makes you cool, then I’m the coolest mofo around. 😎
The Sigma pieces are so lovely (Except for that awkward tape dispenser)...the Muppet ones are great.
I did have Sit 'n Spin, but not the sweet Ewok one.
Can't believe you've been holding out on the change purse video for so long. Unsubscribe!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, I have that book!
I want that big Japanese Darth Vader model on the back cover
Ya got me on every one. That soap dish land speeder with the muscle car front has something though. Kinda like it.
They used to use string to tie up packages for shipping, before packing tape became ubiquitous. So that would have a ball of string or twine in it, and you could just throw a few quick loops around the box. If you look in your mothers attic and find all boxes tied up with string. This is why.

I was there at the right time.

ah string...an elegant accessory..for a more civilized time
Maybe it's Silly String.
I had that slide puzzle, the 'Star Wars' tile pops out I think, it was missing on my one.
I HAD THE BIRTHDAY CENTERPIECE!!! Would never have remembered it if I didn't see it here. Thanks Junkman!
I remember seeing the sit and spin in 1984 and the ROTJ bookshelf,Vader comb and laces in 1983 here in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺. That passbook was from an old bank here in Sydney and yes I remember that too
I'm buying this book thanks junk man I never knew it existed
👍👍
I found that book in Goodwill a month ago. Think I only paid 2 bucks or so...
I had a Sesame Street sitnspin. A throw pillow is a small pillow you put on a sofa or chair. A passbook is a wallet you put your passport and travel checks or cards in. I also have that book. I regret not having Sansweet sign my copy when he was at Star Wars celebration a few years back.
And of course I’ve had the revised book since the late 90’s
Great upload as always Junkman. I didn't recognise 99% of these things. 👍
I had the dual at deathstar race set. Mine was in a white box not colored. I believe they were a sears exclusive
🤔...That soap dish also kinda looks like an ice cream sammich...👌🏼💯✔️
I have this one signed by Steve Sansweet himself.
I'd want that Jabba pillow to go along with the ROTJ sleepingbag.

That will look awsome as a lamp base.
Thanks for the video
I thought of that, the top corner, logically, looks as though it could be removed, as it also wouldn't detract from the artwork.
Well all I know is that they made condoms.
Did you call him Steve "Sandsweep"? LOL. I've never seen any of these! Maybe the R2 string dispenser could be used to dispense the shoe laces.
Steve Sandsweep gets everywhere.
soap dish would be great asa weed tray, I had all 20
All 20? 20 different SW soap dishes?
@@Sammy_Boy_Smith all 20 items in JM's list. All used for weed, as well, presumably, lol
A sit and spin! Mine was white with purple spots! Wow. Memories. Thank you for including this one. It's very enjoyable to see your videos.
keds with gobot laces
mallows, not mellers
Cool rare stuff!
I didn't know there was a Nashville Wampas Hockey Club, make that 21 things.
Great videos recently Junkman. Thanks 🙂
10:20 I think you're talking about "balancing the chequebook (or checkbook)"
I didn't know the Nashville Wampas Hockey Club existed, and I'm in Tennessee! I pushed pause and ordered one off their site. Thanks!
tell 'em junkman sent you :)

I found a adventure people star wars Luke skywalker action figure

Those Return Of The Jedi shoelaces are worthy of a bully beatdown

I think the threpio hoth gun was featured in the star wars fan club catalogue from way back in the day.

We used from a ambulaction figure from their line
I remember getting a star wars digital watch from my mom and dad for my eleventh birthday. It had C3PO and R2 on the face of it.
I had the Star wars centerpiece from Empire for my 7th birthday!! I have a pic of it but I dont know how I could send it to you for you to see 🤔

Mel Brooks was right, I have Star Wars The Oil Lamp.

i remember using a sit and spin toy when i was little, i can't remember where it was though
You should do one for the prequel era just so you can talk about that damn Darth Vader burger that made people sick

Around the year 2018 or so I saw a Star Wars train set at retail. Didn’t buy it because there are no trains with Star Wars designs in Star Wars.

I had the burgers king paper land speeder as a kid
1:56 It looks like an Ice Cream Sandwich.
Damn bro 20 more! I thought I seen it all and then sum from u already! 😮
I had Empire Strikes Back bed sheets. I wore them out. To tell ya honestly, the only one I heard of was the race trak. Always wanted one.
That headboard looks like a pretty awesome "Join me, and we will rule the galaxy as father and son" alternate universe depiction.
I have that book, and I agree it's awesome. 💪😎
I still have that book case and a matching R2-D2 toy chest.
8:17 more like throwup pillow. Ecch.

I still own the original pillow case.💪🤓
It's unique - I'll say that...
✌
I used to turn my sit and spin upside down and use t as cloud city!
Was there Star Wars duck tape ??? 🤔
we used miles of string to wrap our packages...before the dark times...the dark times......
You must be talking about the before times.
I have the crayon sharpener.
10 punches for the Ewok Boots. 🥊
@10:55 is that jabba's tail, his hand? what is that>?!
I love that soap dish!
"Ironside Sit & Spin" for the win!
