I love Fripp's persona - the always civil combativeness, the contrariness, the deadly seriousness of his obscure pronouncements, the steely glint in his eye. He is a true one-off
Actually, she was a pretty good interviewer. Seemed to me like she did her homework. She seemed generally interested in the things he had said in the past, and where he was going with the new band. There’s certain things that she has to ask, being a journalist. Certain things that she probably would like to know, but the regular every day person watching the interview on TV Has no idea about. And there seemed to be quite a energy between them! That was fun to watch.
Uh… Bruford was actually IN King Crimson when Fripp disbanded the band the first time in ‘75. He was in Yes before he joined Crimson the first time in the 1970’s.
They were fucking awesome man. Thela hun jingeet, three of a perfect pair, discipline.. of all the crimson’s I listened to this lineup more than any other lineup, maybe when John wetton was in the band maybe but no this lineup had so much good content and you can tell that they enjoyed it too!!
I can feel some sexual tension here. It's Fripp's weird way -- with some contrariness -- of flirting with someone, methinks. She seems to respond to it.
@@MicheleMcAdooI would say so yes ' either that or he's really high on a wave of his own natural ability which is also believable ' but the eye glitches and manner reminds me of peak intense bowie
At 6.45 her RAM is full, vocabulary capability exceeded, and the realisation that this man actually doesn’t place her sexual potential above his “incline to 1984” has finally kicked in.
Think what you want. She’s been in the communications industry for over 40 years. Exactly what did she say in this interview to have you come to your conclusion?
@@rogercormier5610 Anybody who knows anything about RF and King Crimson wouldn't ask the dumb questions she asked. If she's well versed, she's doing a good job pretending not to be.

I'm just discovering him but I would have to heartily agree with you
Oh yeah and the reiki dresses too like it's all tied up in a perfect little package yeah he's got a great persona I love it
Who could have predicted back then that Fripp would have an OnlyFans adult account 45 years later

I would have loved to be there!!!! Fripp, Levin band of masters!!!
The most intelligent guy in the whole rock world.
Who is? Fripp? Doubtful but that's what he wants you to believe.
@@mikereiss4216 Who do you think is more intelligent than Fripp?
I think he speaks well, and cryptically, but Neil Peart and Brian May (PhD physicist) were and are, respectively, much more intelligent.
@@Ofinfinitejest Don't think so.
@@mikereiss4216 He just likes playing with you. But Robert is indeed highly intelligent
Oh, i wish this was longer
That what she said
You'll notice even here that Fripp didn't want to be under spotlights.
and now he has his stupid wife making an absolute fool of him every Sunday

No one interviews like that woman nowadays
The New Music was a great show out of Toronto for almost 30 years.

1000%
She has the googly eyes for Mr Fripp. They must have told her he was a rock star in Europe.
Who knew!
😍🤩
Apparently, he had stealth rizz big enough for two continents.
Wish I'd been there. Saw them at the Bandshell in 84.
I was there too! Saw KC twice more in Vancouver, 1996 and 2015.
Fripp as usual baffles the yanks. How he lived among them for years I don't know - I can only assume he enjoyed watching them being baffled.
Toronto is actually in Canada.
Well, that was embarrassing...
@@cheeseman1195 I smell an Upperclass Twit of the Year award coming...
i think it’s crazy that fripp kind of already knew the new band would only last until 1984 haha. interesting foreshadowing

Very cool. This was aired a couple of years before I even knew the band existed.
Robert Fripp is an eloquent speaker & an amazing guitar player

Yes
He's actually very trustworthy, you can't always count on his Music being amazing.
Little did they know at the time, Fripp would break up the group again in 1984 and Crimson would remain dormant once again until 1994.
Thank you for this! Have you got the interview from his Frippertronics tour which the journalist mentions?
Nice ⭐️
Thanks for the upload! Do you have the Bill Bruford interview from 1982 on the same show?
Wow.
he's like the Doc Martin of rock musicians
Do we cast Ewen McGregor as Fripp in the film version?
🎯💯👌🏼
wow!
saw KC in brazil
1:53 I can’t tell if Fripp was pleased or not 😂

I can see why he got along with David Sylvian, they are both pompous and pretentious.
That lady is acting weird.
You can tell this woman doesn't have a clue.
She was actually quite well versed in Robert’s career even back then. This is Jeanie Becker.

Sooooo annoyingly serious about everything... Toyah's pet dog is more likable nowadays.
At least he has an ethos...
That's why we like him. Most people can see through celebrities' fake personas and fake enthusiasm/happiness.
Well gusty.
Nobody knows anything about you.
Someone should tell Toyah, to stop making a fkn idiot of her genius husband
