You're absolutely right about the "only needs a switch" sellers. It's the same with car ads here in the UK, where we have a yearly roadworthiness inspection called an MOT. There are so many ads for cars with expired MOTs that say "will pass an MOT no problem"... So why don't you do it and sell it for much more money?? Some sellers really do think people are that stupid. Then again, some buyers are!
We price shopped lawn tractors at the big box stores and wow! They are priced into the ozone layer! Snagging a good used one that needs a little TLC is the way to go. Good luck with it Tyler.
I think the Craftsman mower was a good buy. I noticed you have a Lawn Boy mower in your fleet. I just purchased an old Lawn Boy for $25 that someone had given up on. I put a new Champion plug in, and some fresh premixed gas, 3 pushes on the primer, and it started on the first pull. It's the best running mower that I have.
I had the same experience trying to buy a car off of market place, seller took forever to answer messages, eventually got to the point where we had agreed a day and time so that I could go look. Asked for the address and the conversation just went dead, car was on there for weeks relisted over and over. Don't know how they expect to sell anything like that. Eventually found another (advertised elsewhere) at a car dealer that was sold spares/repair, think it was a worse car, but it was cheaper and the seller answered the phone first try and set up an appointment for early the following day, they also took my long suffering S70 in as a part exchange at scrap value, which they then sold at scrap value. Think it lasted another 3 weeks on the road from what I can tell online.
Troy Bilt Bronco with Craftsman stickers on it. I personally try to stay away from MTD mowers. My Dad got a Troy Bilt Pony for $200 that ran and moved fine but the deck engagement was seized up. Just took it apart, wire brushed it, and applied some anti-seize and it was good to go. AYP/Husqvarna made tractors are usually better (lots were sold as Craftsmans as well). Have a 2006 LT1000 with the 6-speed gear drive and its flawless.
MTD has saturated the market. Funny thing is, the cheap MTD-built mower I used first outlasted the far more expensive MTD-built mower I moved up to. I'll just run the cheap ones from here on.
let me see, you probably pound the piss out of this machine for 25 years probably minimal to no maintance done , now you pick it apart and complain about it like it is no good , is there something wrong with this picture or is it just me.
tyler your old Q45 videos are so funny. thanks for the vids
Glad you could find another mower. I'm always leary like you said when it "only needs a switch replaced." Take care Tyler 🙂👍
or in a car adv "AC only needs charge...or runs rough needs a tune up"
@@tombob671 My favorites are horrible problems prefaced by "just needs" or "only needs". Great car, just needs an engine, transmission and rearend.

Looking forward to the next video on the lawnmower.

Fortunately most people end up telling the truth even by accident.

Right. I briefly flirted with the idea of buying a new one and that lasted about 5 minutes.
Simple mowers are good mowers. I think the new one will serve you well.
I'm just over working on stuff that isn't fun.

I believe it. I've had that one 12 years and it's been dormant the last 5.
