I really like the way you filmed this. Very relatable. Felt like I was in my own tiny room doing it all myself. I may have to attempt to steal this format. Oh, and you and the amp sound awesome. Have a great weekend everyone.
I love the choked sound from having the gain dialed back a little with an overdrive infront. It's a great rythm tone for calm songs that is still dirty
Love the way you explored the palate of mid range sounds and chugs! Digged the video, mi amigo!
Wow. How have I never connected Sherrif and Marshall?
I thought the exact same thing. Lol
:) me too
I'm buying one when Sweetwater has them. Great amps handwired goodness
I have the Sherriff 44 and always wanted to lunch box size version of it but now they have the new one, I may have to get it. It sounds glorious and your demo was awesome.
I agree with the presentation style. Thank you
Bloody hell fluff...
Now I want one...
Thanks Fluff. I have a Victory Copper that I really, really enjoy.
Sounds gnarly, Dude
Oh shit. I just now got it. Sheriff/Marshall…. It’s all happening!
SAME HAHAHA
@@ababilashari9970 oh god 🤦🏼♀️
Awesome chocolate finger!
When we were kids we used to get a stick and shove it into dog shit and chase girls around with the stick. It’s called poop stick. Every time I bring it up around anyone the reaction is always the same,”Oh shit, we used to do that too!” Growing up in the 80s and 90s was great.
Duuuuuuuuuude...... I actually really loved the tones you got out of this. I need to try this for my worship rig
Hey Ryan: Quick question: Of all the demo/loaner gear you’ve had on your channel over the years what percentage would you say you like enough to actually want to buy? Thanks
Great question, this should be a video!.
I love mid-range. I live there. Full on mid range gives me Peter Green tones. I'm off to buy one..... 😉
I know you mentioned in another video that you were a fan of Brian Baker, so I’ll assume you like Bad Religion, Dag Nasty, etc. A lot of your demo stuff, including this video, is heavier than I tend to do. Would you say the new Sheriff is at home for punk rock stuff like Bad Religion and similar stuff? And bonus question, have you also been able to try the Sheriff 100?
Any used in-ear rack gear you have for sale?
This amp uses EL86 tubes not EL84. It will, however, take EL84 tubes if you want with a re-bias.
I noticed you didn't fool around with the presence control too much. I'm listening on my Bluetooth Logitech speakers, not my A7X's, so that's likely effecting the overall sound, but it does sound muffled to me... like you put my sock collection over the amp mic.
I have the A7Xs too. It does sound muffled and not a sound that I would want to use live in a dense band mix. I waited for him to turn the presence control as he did the rest of the tone controls, but it never happened. I was using a Cornford MK50 head this weekend for gigs, but they are no longer made so was hoping this would have an equal amount of high end 'bite' to the sound. If this video is anything to go by, the answer is no! I may have to find a used MK50 instead.
@@asw7696 if you’re looking at Cornford/Victory amps, you need to check out their Super Kraken. I played it once in a music store and it was instantly a bucket list amplifier for me.
Man...I'm between the 100w Version of this, a friedman Smallbox, or Soldano SLO 30 for midrangey skate-punk and Bad Religion (type) tones. Any input?
Well this amp is handwired
Depending on where you're located, the Victory is like half the price of Friedman and Soldano. IMO Victory sounds amazing for lesser money, win!
If the Sheriff is "Marshall", and the Copper is the Vox AC30, what is "The Jack"?
The jack of all trades
Victory
The Countess was a much better name.
I was looking at the Countess schematic and the first 4 gain stages look a lot like a JCM with the cold clipper in V3
Taking a better look it looks like a heavily modded jcm with an added gain stage and some more bells and whistles, looks pretty intersting tho because unlike the SLO100 that uses a cold clipper at the second gain stage this one uses it on the 3rd gain stage so its modded but probably sounds more vintageish than most modern marhsall based amps
No, like the el34 mutch more
Drums sound a bit too loud on the track, great riffs though
do you really have to put a TS on top of everything ?
yes
Hell yes.
Duh. Or a SD-1.
Make ur own vids??
Lee Anderton owns a portion of this company, just want everyone to know.
Okay…
Yes, he recently admitted his dirty little secret.😂
Not getting the Mark Knopfler tone man. Nope.
No wonder they knocked off 500 bucks at Sweetwater. Garbage
Do a back to back with a micro dark lol
When you run pedals your never hearing the amp!!!! Some people only want to hear the amp.
I'll be honest. Not a fan of the sound at all from what I just watched.
I think a orange micro beats that tone 😆
Tell me why I need to spend the money and how a blues junior is not as capable
Why in the hell would you want to bias an EL84-amp?
Just put in a simple switch between EL84s/86s, like in bigger amps with EL34/6L6s. Jeez...
And they're called TUBES, you weird tea-slurpers stuck in Victorian times :'D
7:07 Try a TH30, and then talk again about EL84-amps "not developing low-end"...
the old sheriff was the least exciting piece of gear for me and i collected all the other v4 pre amp pedals..maybe they`ll update the v4 sheriff pedal also, i would give it a second try for sure 🦾🦾
