I think Ineos will still use the rim brake version and put weights in the lower parts to meet the weight rule. But doing so will also lower down the centre of gravity a little which would give a little more stability. And Geraint Thomas is currently in great need of some more stability on the bike
It's not just about the weight.... Most bikes in disc are over 6.8kg anyway so ineos wouldn't really be at any disadvantage imo... You also have to factor in discs rub... Even if u only loose a few seconds over 21 stages that time will add up... On top of that slower wheel changes and higher risk of mechanicals with disc... Ineos are there to win
2.6 watts saved at 50 km/h - I am about 82kg and on the flat without much wind I need to put out nearly 1000 W to get to 50km/h. Does 2.6 Watt make that much difference?
Is it just me or are the manufacturers citing smaller frames every year for the weight savings. Next year's Dogma G will be 200g lighter for a size 48.
That bike must cost a fortune but I'm glad finally it has disc brakes with a low weight so you are getting more of your money's worth. I personally love the look of the dogma and it only looks cleaner with disc brakes now with no drawbacks in weight.
Pinarello has been using Toray T1100 1 k carbon fiber at least since my F10, maybe even earlier. Btw, F10 w mech Durac-ace disc brakes weighs 7.7kg with pedals and clinchers.
I've watched Reinventing the Wheel. I like when Conor collected the bike. It was almost as tall as the bloke who made the frame. Has Conor found a bike carrier large enough to carry the bike. I'd love to see it on a roof mounted carrier. We now need some videos of Conor on it.

When you have a really poor eyesight I won't recommend getting prescription sunglasses, as cycling glasses are more rounded around your head the magnifying effect of the glasses will have different effects at different points of your glasses because of the different breaking indexes. I tried it and it felt like I had downed 20 pints before riding my bike, really difficult to properly see depth.
I got my canyon ultimate sl 8 for only $2700 and comparing that to a super bike its really good bang for the bike only 7.02kg and fully carbon components minus wheels for thousands cheaper.

I have the Dogma F in Plutonium Flash w Most Talon Ultra, Campy Super Record and Bora WTO 45s. It is gorgeous to both ride and look at. Akin to driving a luxury car. A very fast luxury car.
I still love my 2007-8 Dogma Ak-61 Magnesium, it rides so tight and still retains all of its' magnificence. Is it clear that I support Dogma, no matter the model? It's time to get over the "numbers" or the "model". Let's come to grips with what it is, a disguised Lamborgini.

Common misconception on BPA: it’s still used in all polycarbonates, but they are certifying that the small molecule precursor (the molecule named by Ollie) has all been incorporated into the polymer chains-such that no small molecule BPA will leach out of the plastic into your water.

Exactly... Their maths don't quite add up. So if the F12 disk was 7.5kg and the new F 6.8kg, with the frame being 250g lighter, where are they saving the other 450g? Groupset and wheels being the same, I doubt they are saving those 450g in parts such as the fork, seatpost and handlebar... and those 6.8kg are certainly for the bike with no pedals, bottle cages or head unit mounts, meaning a rideable bike will be for sure over 7kg.
Guys please, Pinarello says the F disc is 6.8kg without pedals. Let's not skimp over. It also says the rim version is well under the UCI weight limit. So the poll question "disc or rim' will be misleading
@@neilbathe7752 Carbon fibre cracks all the time. Even in formula 1. Carbon Fibre is not my concern as much as it is the push for lighter, thinner, cheaper iterations of carbon fibre usage. You will also find these bikes have decreasing rider weight limits.

The "cheaper iterations" is not what a brand like Pinarello are interested in - a Chinarello copy has always meant you are making your own choices & taking your own risks.... Decreasing rider weight limits should not be a concern when you are looking at losing 500g bike weight, if you are 20kg over-weight, surely?

Sadly, the most recent Rival firmware update has broken the HR monitoring, and it was poor to start with. Yesterday’s swim was recorded as 50% at HR Z5 which is ridiculous and plainly wrong. I’ve reported to Wahoo but this watch is simply behind the main competition in this area.
As I have a passionate hatred of rim brakes. I would always choose disc brakes. I most likely wouldn't go for the new Pinarello Dogma F. That type of bike just doesn't tickle my pickle.

Wheel size doesn't really affect contact points, so you wouldn't think so. If you're swapping from 700c to 650b, you're probably changing the type of riding you're doing though, and that could affect the position you want.

I reckon he wouldn't be able to get up the gradients we have in our region (Liguria) and he'd most likely need at least a sub compact (perhaps a 46-30) and an 11-34 at the back. Would it be possible to mount a GRX or a FSA subcompact chainset or its chainrings onto a road bike with a compact 50-34 chainset? Would it cause problems with the front mech? Or would he just be better off buying a heavier but already GRX kitted gravel bike?

Ive just had an F in 56 / SR Camp eps, ultra 45 wheelset, cages, mount, no pedals 7.7kg? Think your 6.8kg estimate is wrong. Missing a kilo there somewhere. Its basically an 8 kilo bike with pedals.

I would choose a disk brake bike over a rim brake version every time. I can't be as fast as a pro, but I the better it stops my 100kg, the better.

At some point I wonder about the strength of the frame sets on these ultra light bikes. That being said the bike is amazing.
A local shop to me built a 6.8 POUND bike. It did well on our local roads. Mind you it cost 20K, shop price, to build as well.
Have you ever watched Formula 1? Carbon fibre can be woven into (pretty much) whatever strength you plan for at whatever weight you can afford...

How come Alex didn't keep the Cube as a Super Nice? He had the bell so Ollie had no say. Maybe the owner of the Cube took the pedals off the bike to service them. Did Ollie think of that? Me thinks not.

I would have to say would rather go for the Scott addict or BMC team Machine or specialised tarmac which have already been around for around 1and a bit years they are also under the Weight limit with disc breaks and more all-around bike

Ive just had an F in 56 / SR Camp eps, ultra 45 wheelset, cages, mount, no pedals 7.7kg? Think your 6.8kg estimate is wrong. Missing a kilo there somewhere. Its basically an 8 kilo bike with pedals.
