that rotten tree reminded me of a quick story back in the late 80's. i had just bought my 20 acres of land in upstate NY, and had the house built. in November it was deer season, and i went into the woods to hunt. i had to walk uphill, and being a really big guy, ( fat ) when i got up to the flat spot i was going to hunt, i was exhausted. i see this big tree, and decided to rest and lean up against it. yup, it was rotten just inside of the bark, and both me and the tree went down like a ton of you know what. i was shocked i went down, but my two cousins were laughing so much, they couldn't help me off the ground.
Ordered me some logger wade gear, tank top & the same shirt mommy's wearing @ the end of the vidja except I purchased mine in blue! Logger wade brings a hole new meaning to entertainment, simply by just being himself, how can you NOT love him and his family.
Hi logger Wade yes I went from a Style 22" bar, then moved to a little bigger saw with a 28" bar now that wasn't bad. Settled on a 26" bar in a bigger saw in the end. Then once I tried an even bigger Style with a 48" bar way to big for my liking. A smaller bar just means smarter cutting I find on medium wood.
Not much experience with Huskys. I’ve always ran Stihl. The 362 is a cutting SOB. I run a full comp 24” on it and it does great. Although, the 572 Husky is a great saw too.
Hotsaws101 can make Kate 572 cut through a big tree like a hot knife through butter.. I think he has one with a 28" or 30" inch bar and chain.. watch some of his vidjids...✌️

Get one of those FULL SKIP ⛓⬅chains that has CARBIDE TEETH Wade,I have several of those and boy do they last between sharpenings,it's as good as it gets.

Don’t know if it’s true or not but I heard they are discontinuing the 390 and 395. Hope there not my 395 is the best saw I’ve owned might have to get me another before they stop making them
fox hunter my friend has a 359 and it’s a great saw. I have a ms362c-m and it’s also a great saw. Something around the 60cc range is gonna be great for bigger wood but still sorta light and fast for small stuff. My saw has the m tronic carb so it revs extremely fast so limbing small stuff it’s quick and easy as there’s zero lag for throttle response. I run a 25” bar on mine and it’s at its limit with it but it’s ok just need to let it take its time. 20” would be fast and light.
If it's like our land a forester marks individual trees to be cut but also may direct them to cut all ______ trees over a certain size. On our land in WI the foresters orders were cut the marked trees and ALL aspen(popple) and birch.
Pete Nolte the tree typically volunteers. If not ,logged wade picks any that look at him funny. Ok seriously, a logger buys a stand of selected timber on his terms via mill demand , in house or outsourced. Then said timber is priced , marked and agreed upon ie; LW and landowner. Then it’s purchased for said agreed price and cut. It appears this is a mature select harvest thinning cut / management job. All prices are termed in agreement with market values etc , each timber company can be different tho they’ve learned what works n what’s fair.
Pete Nolte forgot to add , landowners also have a say in timber they want harvested or NOT harvested. They work together and will be very clear n certain with each tree. Could be a “clear cut” which all trees are cleared. Several methods or general ideas ,of how each job, is selected and cut.

Hey wade Kate sounds awesome great cutting vidja be safe and have a good one
Not a bad saw have one with a full wrap but no 395
Need more bar,how do from the buckin army

Yup I agree

Its rated to handle 28"
It had a 24” full comp on it when we got it and was to doggy we cuttin hardwood it takes a lot more motor
I'd send Kate to hotsaw101 like Steve did with big mac and 461

Thought Kate was his saw for business? Knows he like Stihl, me too 😁
dont know much about logging but why where some notch bigger in trees than others
Lean of the tree and size primarily.
When you get used to something and you like it it doesn't matter what you put in your hands your not going to be comfortable using it
