      @@HatrickEwing last year was definitely a down year for Knox but he also had a broken wrist that needed surgery during the season and bc of his lack of performance he took a pay cut this year. But I agree Knox is average but I think Kincaid can be something special

      @@HatrickEwing I'd argue Knox to be a potential top 10 TE. He really has been unlucky with injury, and people forget how good he is because of a few dropped passes, honestly. He ran a 4.51 Pro Day and we all know he is excellent with RAC and blocking. Hands aren't amazing, but the dude can still catch very well, watch his highlights.
      I'm telling you, as far as TE's go, dude is pretty close to a freak athlete. As close as a 6'4 250 pound guy can be, really. Now he's buried under Kincaid, lol, but he'll still find a chance to shine, mark me. Between Knox and Kincaid (and Morris) I'd argue we may have the best TE group in the league. Slightly better than Kelce/Gray, and there are quite a few good groups out there too. Even if you consider Knox a TE15 and Kincaid a TE8 we'd still have two top 15 TE's.. Just sayin... 🤷‍♂

    Bradys offense showed that we dont need Diggs. Last offseason, we were rolling with a Dorsey offense which was Diggs dependent. Florio is just being dumb saying they should have traded him last off-season. That is such a hindsight talking point

    • @Slimkidd730
      @Slimkidd730 27 днів тому

      You're trying to use the GOAT to justify you're offense still being a threat after losing your top offensive threat? Well Allen is going to have to QB like Brady because we don't know that yet. Allen before Diggs looked a lot different than allen with Diggs. Bills are guaranteed to be a threat now that Diggs is gone. And which offense are you talking about?
      Pats offense with Moss and Welker OR with Gronk, Hernandez, and Eldeman?

    Read between the lines: They sent a message the day after Diggs disrespected Allen AGAIN that Josh is the man and anyone who can't handle that can get lost. That message was worth a lot to the team.

    Mike, the "albatross" wasn't the dead-cap hit. The albatross was the locker room toxicity.
    What Beane was saying was, whether they took care of the albatross now or next year, it costs them 30M either way, so he'd rather deal with the Albatross now, so that next season is a clean slate.

    "Why didn't they do it last year?" That's a poor take. They were a field goal away from playing for the AFC Championship. Diggs was had a great year and was a huge piece in getting that far, that's why you try and make it work another year.

    Something happened with Josh and Diggs. After Diggs snapped at him on the sideline during the Bengals game, they never repaired what was broken. I think the Bills brass just thought that during last year's offseason, time away would help everything. And remember, they just went through almost watching Damar Hamlin pass away on the football field so it was understandable they thought everyone just needed time away to recharge. But in the end, time away still didn't fix what was broken. After this year, you could tell everyone was emotionally done with trying to make things work. You never want to take on a dead cap hit like that, but everyone needed fresh starts.

    Well, I’m quite sure that, when Beane traded for Diggs, Brandon knew full well that Stefon was a great receiver but a potential pain in the a-s as well. It was medium risk, high reward probably, maybe even high risk. But at the time I thought, and Beane probably thought the same, that the Bills could corral Diggs just enough to make things work. I’m highly doubtful that Beane assumed it would fail. Well, Beane does have to pay the Piper though now, unfortunately. And so do the Bills. Gulp.

      Precisely, all the major cap moves from here on out are going to have extra attention given to them I would strongly suspect (and hope, lol), particularly after this Diggs and Von contract debacle. Maybe Von still plays out, but with Josh's contract kicking in full gear, any top level contracts we are going to pay out are going to have to be essentially home-runs. Kinda like Ed Oliver. You knew you were at least getting a stud with a good attitude, ...and potentially, a superstar, hopefully they take this approach moving forward. Another obvious example would be Khalil. I think Beane has the right idea though,...so I'll continue to trust the process for now, I suppose lol

    • @peterwilson4865

      He's going to get an extension in the next couple years and that can will be kicked further down the road. It's not really a concern in the grand scheme. Von's money will be gone in 2025. They're going to have lots of quality cheap talent from this year's draft and next year too. They'll be fine.

If he were he’d say, “We need to cut spending, maybe raise taxes for everyone - and I mean everyone - have a balanced budget or better, and maybe, just maybe, we’ll grow our way out of this mess.” But taking the whole hit now is painful in the short term but he’s right because next year they’ll be free from it. Oh, and by the way: one of the reasons for our current high inflation and higher home mortgage rates is overspending. Thank you and please vote for me in 2024 ;-)
