I don't think they had all the money at once, and it wasn't cash. I believe these people use credit cards and it's over a long period of time....I don't think if any of these players had 100k cash they would choose to spend it in a game in one day, you know lol it's just very different
Saying that he is the "best" mage in the game is a stretch. He is the one who put most money in...so thats clearly not equal to being the best. You cannot determine who is the best in games like this, as there is no equal playingground.
Im sure the mage spent lots of time doing fair 1v1s, dropping gear levels to match etc.. and that's how they know. Or they play mobile games... dw buddy we all realize it too and shake our heads at the claim
If by being the 'best' player is based on the amount of purchased gear, then yes... he certainly is the best player. If anyone who purchased 35k of RL money towards pixels and power upgrades, anyone can be the best.
The things you could buy with that money and instead you spend it on a garbage game, for what? For the dopamine rush? To pretend you're the best at something? It's pathetic but it's exactly why these games exist, because people like this exist.
Also funny thing about Diablo Immortal is how simplistic it is with 4 skills and just a couple of valid builds. So yeah, not much skill and tactics involved here.
I have lived long enough to see a game put you in debt due to not using their 'exclusive' marketplace and will say no dice to all of your stuff. Clearly a purposefully fully broken system, and will slap anyone who tries to trade when Blizzard let's it happen in the first place.
You do realize those people purchased from third party seller who sell with huge discounts because the seller commit credit card theft and selling everything cheap for cash in before they got caught, right? At least Blizzard did somethint, unlike those people at G2A. In the first place, those players should know better. Its like buying cheap car with too good of condition and discovered its been stolen. So, what are you going to do in Blizzard case then?
I can tell you never have played a gacha game before. These third party scams are nothing new and rampant in those games. They steal peoples credit cards and charge the premium currency with it.
Nah, not broken. This is their game, it's fucking stupid to think that anyone can pay another person, company, entity, etc while bypassing the game's devs and then expect the devs to not punish you for it. And then there's the fact that what they were buying was going for a significant discount. If that's not coming from the devs then there's no way that's legit. You should always think it's the worst scenario, in this case essentially buying stolen goods because it's very possible to be from a stolen credit card, stuff like this is the epitome of "a deal too good to be true." Even if it's actually someone spending money from a different currency, if you find a deal like that you shouldn't expect it to be legit and you shouldn't expect to be able to keep what you bought through some random non-authorized third party.
Why is it Blizzards fault? When u buy Something from Like a blackmarket, its your own fault. I mean, yeah, 30k is a Lot, But its your fault. No one forced you to buy from there. These People doesnt even Care where does it came from, These People does only think of themself. Get everything cheaper.
The thing is, by banning him, he has to spend +30k to get where he was at, while if they didn't ban him, he probably wouldn't spend that amount as extra, GOOD DECISION BLIZZARD
Using 3rd partys to buy stuff in game is always against the rules because the company that made the game doesnt get money from it. Its why most mobile gacha games nowadays dont have an ingame trade system anymore. Since its just way cheaper to buy an item from another player with money as opposed to going in to the gambling aspect of games.
Has any gacha game ever had ingame trade system? Even back in the PAD day I don't even remember it ever had one. The way Blizzard resolve thing is the first time I saw it though. Last Origin did put people into debt but it's because it was a mistake in their system. Purposely putting players into debt is like telling them either quitting or going F2P forever, which sound pretty dumb to me.
in this case, it doesnt apply at all, the guys who sold the orbs already bought them to Blizzard (through illegal mean, like stolen credit card), so Blizzard didnt loose a dim here
This is a really weird cope from asmongold surprisingly. Saying you didn't read the rule or that the game is p2w already is a really strange argument. The game is p2w because blizzard wants you to pay them to win that doesn't mean they will be ok with you paying someone else to win. Blizzard absolutely wants their cut thats the entire fucking point of this game lol what? I'll never play it but I don't feel bad for people that get punished that a company decides to enforce their eula
I mean we all know that with the whole system blizzard build up with Immortal it's obvious that power creep is gonna happen to entice people to spend ever more money on this shit.
2 more year they are gonna make DI 2, with no change except for porting it into unreal engine 5 or something, shut down service for DI 1 and render everyone's progress null and void.
This is actually common practice in Chinese developed games. The coders put backdoors in the code so they can sell premium packs as a side Hussle. When the developer finds out, they patch the code, and hit the whales with huge bills. Then in like 2 weeks they will start offering settlement agreements to restore whale accounts. Most of these whales will jump at 20 cents on a dollar to get their account back.
Imagine willingly spending that much money and still get scam , and the bait is so godamn obvious in this case. "if something is too good to be true it probably is"
18:54 you are way off base with this argument that Blizzard has nothing to lose to allow whales, even if they take advantage of the system. I know of countless players that became dejected in this game because of whales and thinking they will never catch up or have fun for end game, so they packed up and quit. It is bad for Blizzard to lose subs, period. Now ask the question is it better to have 1 whale that pitches in 20k vs 10-15 players that spend only modestly for the same $20k total, I think in every case the answer is going to be the latter. You want populated games. You want happy subscribers that will endorse the game and hopefully bring more friends in that will spend for the long haul. That's why Warcraft lasted so long.. they had a non-whale platform and class balance was a high priority. When you have a whale platform, it will burn out faster unless counter measures are taken.
"Best player" in a p2w game makes me laugh. These jackasses blowing smoke up each other's asses. Moral of the story. Don't try to pay to be good at games. It's a bad look.
This is 1st time i disagree with u asmon.. they gave their login account to the seller.. its clearly violated the TOS so they know what they are doing.. they just get what they deserved thats all.. the seller even wrote that u could get banned..
It's the player's account, not Blizzard's. The ToS is not a legal contract. Blizzard will lose hard considering they accepted the payment and have not refunded it.
@@GeorgeMonet Dude are you dumb? Blizzard can do whatever they want with your account as fast as you accept the ToS as you register your account. The game is completely copyrighted. This is not new, in Genshin happened the same. People went and bought crystal from a random guy because they were selling them cheaper. The catch was that after they bought the crystals the seller asked for a refund on their side and the account was left in the negative, they let you know you had x days to pay or get banned. In the end the fault is on the buyer, you have to buy from the official seller and not some random dude on a dark alley selling you something a bit cheaper.

Wait till he goes to the bank for a loan and they are like "sorry you owe 2.5M orbs on diablo immortal, gotta pay that back b4 you get your house loan"
Just want to point out that this is compliant with how stolen goods are handled in the UK. In the UK, if you buy stuff that was stolen and you don't know they're stolen, the police takes it from you and returns it to the owner without compensating you. You need to sue the thief if you want any compensation. In this case, if Blizzard refunded the money to the original owner, then at least they followed this pattern. If you know or think they might be stolen then you've actually committed a crime as well.
I miss the ps2 era where I could simply buy a brand new game for $29.99, play it, enjoy it , finish it and then just buy another for maybe cheaper if used lol.
he didn't buy credit card, he gave someone his account and they used stolen credit cards to buy things in his account that's basically RMT how is blizzard in the wrong?
Thank you someone here got it right! It was against the TOS and then they let people get on their account and put orbs it everyone knows it’s illegal. Blizzard also had been posting reminders about this. Lots of cheaters and friends of cheaters say this is unfair… nah it’s unfair to the legit players, it unfair to everyone that would have got rewards and rankings that couldn’t because this guy and other cheaters took their spot. It’s unfair to everyone they beat in battlegrounds, rite of exile etc. I hope everyone of them gets permanently banned.
He spent more than that…. He had to spend money on blizzard for the extra gems to sell to get 200% back on his gem sales. There’s a limit for how much a gem can call for. 200% is the max.
He cheated, no defending that. Bought 100$ bundles for 20$ each. There is no way he didn't know what he was doing. And he's not the best wizard, he's the one that spent the most...
Nah the guy who buys into microtranactions deserves NO sympathy. You’re buying into this corporate greed and continuing the destruction of creation for actual video games.
As someone who plays mobile games, it's actually quite generous that Blizzard is giving these people the option of paying them the money they didn't get due to chargebacks. Any other mobile game? PERMABANNED instantly.
Nah he has legal ground to sue blizzard. He needs to keep all documents, get familiar with games terms and conditions that relate to product consumption. Seek legal advice for (unfair treatment and failure to access promised servies) like "access to the game". File a complaint with a consumer protection agency. The only reason bliz gets away with this is because the consumer is a non English speaker and doesn't know how to navigate consumer protection laws.

This's why I always avoid third party market no matter how cheap it is. since there's a rules about this in most game TOS. When the dev suddenly in a power trip rampage or when you got scammed (Charge-back), they wont listen to your reasoning. Both Blizzard and your seller already got your money, they wont help you. Never think third party seller as your friend.
Fake whaling is a very serious matter. And I also believe that the measures imposed by Bl1zz4rd to tackle it are not enough. Therefore, they need to create an in game mechanic, through which these fake whales are easily identifiable. This can very easily be achieved as follows: - Introduce a cosmetic item on the cash shop, preferably a weapon or shoulders. - This item can be named as "Noblesse (enter name) of the Edgy of Hell". - The price tag for this MUST be $500 as minimum, to avoid having any non-whalers buying it by mistake. - Any fake whales that have the dept imposed upon them, will essentially be unable to buy this item. This way, all the fake whales will now be very easy to spot in the community and therefore shunned, the war effort against the fake whales will be funded, and all the true whales will be able to feel vindicated and looked after. P.S. I believe that this item should also give some kind of passive boost, like movement speed or loot drop chance, as some could argue that the whales that have gone through this ordeal need to be emotionally compensated. I am looking forward to your thoughts, but I believe it is only fair.
Just the fact alone that's he's not even quitting the "game" after this shows how truly some people got issues with these "games". They're not playing the game, the game is playing with them like preys.
And? If you still pay to play Blizzard games you have nobody to blame but yourselves. How many years have they been doing shady as fuck things? It's like touching a red hot stove and burning yourself over and over and being pissed at the stove's manufacturer for your bandaged hand.
Its pretty simple, i know nothing about DI, but you see, if you allow a currency that as i understand it can only be bought with real money to be traded between players, you encourage and allow those credit card scammers to do their work in hopes of some percentage of those fraudulent transactions to not be flagged and keeping the gains from it. As i see it, the only instance thats to be blamed for this is activision blizzard themself.
I disagree, mostly because the only way scammers can hope to offload their premium currency before they get banned is to give huge discounts, which should make any prospective buyer suspiscous. It's like buying fake designer clothes, there is no way that people don't know they bought fakes even though almost all of those people claim they didn't know. I am not saying Blizzard doesn't also share the blame, but the guys buying would have to be basically incapable of living by themselves without a lot of assistance to not have known why the currency was so cheap.
3:25 tbh, i used to do the same thing with ESO crowns, there are no rules against selling crown gifts for ingame gold- there re against abusing regional prices though, i used to be able to get £75 worth of crowns (5000) for just less than £30, and sell them for 1.5k per crown and get millions of gold more or less instantly, that gold can be then used to buy the materials to max out your armors quality, they did fix it in the last update though. But not the subcription price which is half the cost of normal, £8 down to £3 which can get you 3 million gold in current crown cost, i dont see any problem with it though really, atleast you cant buy your way to perfect traits on that game with gold, or decent dungeon/farmed sets (since they cant be traded outside the group u farmed it with, or even sell them on the traders)
How is it possible…. You’re spending a year salary on a mobile game… it’s 10 year olds… and 49 year olds doing the same thing except on different ends of their life span. How do you manage to get to that age playing phone games. Brain dead stuff man
This is the weirdest take asmon has had in a while. How can it be okay to buy off 3rd party and blame blizzard for taking action. This guy was not just p2w he was actually cheating p2w by spending less then people doing it legit. So they don't get banned, like this guy did.
I‘m all against Blizzard, but this is purely the player’s fault. In the end these orbs were bought with stolen credit cards, so Blizzard probably didn’t see a single $$. Ban well deserved imo
one of the best thing i've done this year is to listen to my friend and NOT PLAY THIS GAME. thank god for his reason and my hope goes to all who play this game to just quit and let this game die.
I realized that instead of paying a lot for Diablo Immortal, I just straight up bought Diablo 3 Expansion + Necromancer instead. I only have to pay 1 time.
To be honest they shouldnt have made it possible for this to happen in the first place. If anything it's bad game design and holds up a mirror to what they are doing to their game and community. I don't understand why they don't just make gifting a in-game event only. They clearly use some sort of key you need to type in.. you know this is going to happen then.
20:28 That's not what the chatter meant. They most likely meant that of course they're gonna ban them if they're buying game services on the side, instead of giving the cut to the company. It's a no brainer, of course they'll ban em.
Shia is on my server and our clan had to face him in the rite of exile pvp battles a couple times. His kill/death ratio was 29-2 and 28-0 respectively in both games and so we hit the 55 death cap very quick. It was just laughable. In the third game rematch a couple weeks later, he was not on their team and was more of a balanced/fair resonance fight, and sure enough we crushed them 31-15 in kills and won the game. It just shows the magnitude of the whale impact, and I'm sure it caused many players to lose faith or confidence and just quit all together, which Blizzard does not want so these actions were necessary. I have zero sympathy for this loser and would slap him silly if we had the same gear/reso. I have NO idea why they are still allowed to pvp so he has like a 5.5k rating right now, but I'm sure he will leave soon.
Come on in which case is it ever okay to buy currency from a third party.. good on Blizzard for booting them. As an immortal it took out all the big hitters on the shadows side.
People are going to try to win. How do you win? You try to get the most out of everything. In sports, you almost infringe the rules, you get as close as breaking the rules in order to win. Now, in this game, you win by paying more, then your incentive is to get $1 for the price of $0.99 you buy that always because that’s what you need if you want to gain an edge. Blizzard is either dumb or don’t care about what they’re doing
This was done abusing a transaction bug so naturally they use "refund" for all transactions to reroll nonpaid orbs from account. Since no real money was paid for these orbs. They only paid for hackers so if hacker has no refund policy its their fault.
There is also the simple matter of same thing costing different amounts in different countries. Official EA/Steam/Epic/Blizzard store, game X costs 60 dollars in the official US store. Same game X in the official Indian store costs only 10 dollars. The problem is knowing whether stuff is being bought with stolen credit cards, or just bought from a cheap country and then sold at a profit in a more expensive country, but still cheaper. Its the same thing big companies do with having their HQ at low tax country or production in a cheap low salary country. Global market, but when a customer wants to take advantage of it, its suddenly a bad thing.
generally speaking games like these have a baseline price in USD and autoconvert to whatever country you are at with a payment system, normally u can get a bit more bang for buck with more volatile currencies, but 30-40% off is pretty obvious a scam

Diablo Immoral: when your regular drug dealer gets miffed about you finding another drug dealer with a slightly better price.
I mean... it's not like drug dealers are traditionally tolerant of competition.
Difference is the third party drugdealer site uses stolen credit cards, so at the end of the month you get nothing after giving your money

@@Caedus696 And I hope to never experience a gacha game. They just sound so vapid and empty compared to everything else you can play.

30k to get back to 0 it would be another 30 k to get back to where he was, so way more scummy when you look into it
He said he don't have he's account so it's more than that
@Zahdorfi technically u cant count sunk cost, itd cost him 35k to balance his account, or however much the official sells it for
Using 3rd partys to buy stuff in game is always against the rules because the company that made the game doesnt get money from it.

In the UK, if you buy stuff that was stolen and you don't know they're stolen, the police takes it from you and returns it to the owner without compensating you. Fake whaling is a very serious matter. And I also believe that the measures imposed by Bl1zz4rd to tackle it are not enough.
Therefore, they need to create an in game mechanic, through which these fake whales are easily identifiable. This can very easily be achieved as follows:
- Introduce a cosmetic item on the cash shop, preferably a weapon or shoulders.

At this point there is no more point blaming blizzard for this, it is just a genius concept to demonstrate the stupidity of people. GO BLIZZARD!

No sympathy for cheaters. Good job Blizzard.
