Hi, I'm subscribed and pay. I'm 45 CKD s4. I never smoke, don't eat junk food, muscular body, I exercise and lift weights. every day I'm a veteran but I DRINK 2 bottles Rose wine 12% every day. Is this bad?
Coffee counts towards your fluids (yeah) and a cup or two a day should be good for the majority of people. Always keep an eye on anything added - those can add up and become the real issue. For those with blood pressure management challenges, their doctor may recommend decaf.
Sorry, no such thing. What you can do is work on your diet to reduce the burden you place on your kidneys. By eating a healthy kidney friendly diet, you may see your kidney function improve (like I did). You also need to keep your blood sugar and blood pressure under control. There are a number of causes of kidney issues, so work with your doctor to make sure you are managing your underlying cause to prevent further damage if possible.
You don't need to worry about Kidney stones, if drinking plenty of water, so alcohol is not necessary, plus some is curbs and sugar, except the hard stuff, if used in moderation, eat a few sour grapes, most of the benefit of wine come from the grapes and skin, so wine has a mix of good (grapes) and poison (Alcohol) but carful, becouse grapes are curbs, natural sugar, but sugar is sugar, if you have problems with sugar or trying to lose weight
Very true. I think a big part of the reason is that CKD patients tend to be on tight budgets due to the cost of health care, and I'm not pushing for donations. The ad revenue and merch sales cover a good amount of the cost to produce the videos - and I look at the gap just being the cost of me having a side hobby to keep my busy.
Im new. With just drinking water I moved from gfr 48 to 57.
How long did it take for that increase also what was your diet like?

Yes bro, this is bad really bad. Your Kidneys and Liver will fail if you keep doing this and you need a transplant over time.
Non alcoholic beer is 0.5% ABV , like the amt of alcohol in fruits like citrus. Is this okay @dadvicetv ? Thanks!

What are your thoughts on coffee? I drink it daily, but only in the morning.

Hi, I’m Sallie
Welcome Sallie!
James, getting older is better than the alternative.
You are 100% correct there! I'm still in my 20's in my heart and mind, my body just doesn't always agree with me. :-)
Alcohol dehydrates our bodies. Dehydration isn't good for our kidneys. Moderation if possible!
Is there a way I can basically restart my kidneys
