You change my life, my yard and my to do list with every video. I have learned so much from you, I can't thank you enough. I'm hoping when the pandemic is over, I can partake of your workshops.
This is a relief... my honeysuckle has done the same to my lavender and hadn't successfully propagated the lavender (yet)... I paused this video and planted out some cuttings/slips... here's holding thumbs
I know nothing about gardening or pruning lavender which is why I'm here. I cut mine back all the way to the ground some months back and they look like new plants now lol
So much great info. Thank you. My daughter gave me a lavender plant and it immediately started dying. I'm in Texas. Didn't know what I was doing wrong. Now I think I can save what's left. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🙏🏼
The stun method 😅! I actually did that here in Paris in February. I just stuck a bunch of leftover rosemary in a planter on my balcony, and despite a week’s freeze, almost all of them took! I bet the stun method creates hardier plants as well.
I'm about to live in the Mojave, near cal city from being in plush regions all my life. You give me hope that I won't have to give up all my love for gardening
Have you tried layering the branches while still attached to the mother plant? I’ve had good success doing that, then just digging up the plantlets in the spring.
This was the right video at the right time. Looking forward to propagating my lavender with this method. BTW I'm a big fan of the STUN gardening method myself 😃
I have a monster Rose Mary and Lavender bush in full sun here in NJ. They have just exploded and worked their way into the driveway. I trimmed them back but they are terribly ugly now. Might be time to rip them out.
I'm in zone 7...my lavender looks like this after winter. I don't do anything and they perform every year. Probably because all of my soil is organic compost.
Thank you! I have a tiny lavender bush in a pot that nearly dried up, but I rescued it from my parents who were about to abandon it, and now it’s starting to flower again. If I can’t get it as bushy and lush as it used to be, I just might try this method and put it in the flower bed that I’ve claimed as my spot! 😅
If I grow lavender from seed when can I pull em up to go to a nursery bed it’s almost December and I thought it would have went dormant by now in zone 6b but it looks green and ready to go….
This was a great video Angela, I always wondered why my lavender here in Central Florida always died, I thought it was because we had so much rain in the summer, but really I had it in a shady spot, so it makes total sense now, I will try to get another plant and try your method by planting it in a really sunny location, loving your videos :0)
I’m also from central FL. I’ve planted 3 lavenders. I had no idea they can get so big 😬 So, aside from being planted way to closely, they’re doing great in direct morning & afternoon sun. They get shaded by large trees in late afternoon
Yay, I found someone local! I don't know if you check the comments, but if you do, when do you prune your lavender? I saw conflicting information and did not trim them in the fall, and I need to do it now so that any advice would be fantastic! Thank you in advance, just in case you do see it, and I look forward to watching more videos!
First off, what really bothered me about your video was when you said , the previous owner put in this hideous home depot) blah blah …. Very rude so I’ll change to another Chanel…… it may have worked for them at the time, why do people feel the need to be so rude.
Leesa, well, it’s her house now so she’s entitled to have an opinion about the “improvements” the previous owners did. This type of fake stone may look out of place on an older home.
As a British gardener this makes me so sad. Your garden could be so beautiful if you took a couple of small steps. The neglect method is tried and true. But your garden I'm sorry to say is a not thriving.
Her garden is amazing. I'm far less of a fan of formal English gardens that are too stuck up. A garden should be a labor of love and she embodies that.
"Sheer Total Utter Neglect" I love that! I've found that when I actively try to grow something, it dies. When I just leave it, it does much better.
This is how I propogate in my yard and actually I get a great return rate :) Easy peasy! Thanks for sharing
Oh thank you so much!! I have an older lavender that just has been so sad the last 2yrs. I'm totally doing this, I love the low maintenance rooting!!

Thanks for increasing my knowledge of lavender
I would love to hear how the lavender propagation goes. This was very useful info!
Yeah, we need an update

Thank you so much! I have an old woody Spanish lavender and am trying to figure out what to do. This helps a lot’ 👏🏻

That is certainly the lazy way to propagate lavender! I’m glad to see that it’s not too difficult.
It seems like too much work.
I do this with the white hydrangeas as well.🌱
I'm going to try this method & with realistic expectations, hopefully I'll get some new plants - thanks 🙂
Rosemary might get bigger in the shade, but it doesn't die in full, harsh sun. I grow it in full sun, no shade, in the harsh desert sun.

I didn't know how shade intolerant they are or how to prune and propagate them! Thank you!

This was incredibly helpful, and thanks for providing gardening advice that isn't fussy!

Very good my sister
Thank you for your sharing
Love to see a follow up video!
STUN! Love that!
I love your S.T.U.N. Method of gardening. Instant follow 😃
Wow! Really learned a lot from this one. Thank you for sharing :)
Do you have an update on these guys now?

How did they grow? And how do you dig them out of ground so you dint disturb the root system?
Thanks! I gave this a try today.

Wow thank you for this video!
Thank you!
Good to know.
Will it always look woody?
Can new plants be grown from underground parts of the old mother plant ?

The Ph for the lavendar i planted is Alkaline although in sand soil. is that ok?
I cut mine sos there anyway to save it
What direction was this rosemary facing; East, West, North, South?
South
Can you do this when the plant is in bloom? Spring?
2 minutes to get to the start
Hi great video. Thank you for sharing your experience with lavender. Am going to try this method. Lots love from Scotland
Can I ask how many rooted out of them ?
Four rooted and are doing well, despite the dry summer that year.
Should this be done after frosts?
Where are you climate-wise? I live in a (currently) temperate climate and doubt they would take so easily.
i read so many place that Lavender grow better in sand soil
so i planted them in sand soil. one of them sad and turned grey what should i do ?
Ha, I do the same!❤️🥰
At what time of year did you do this?
stun method ❤
You are such a cruel god to your lavenders 🤣🤣🤣

Poor Karen, so easily upset. I don’t think the internet is for you, maybe you should stick to bible study?
I know right. Like you're talking about the plant not the house

@@wallihaley5194 I didn’t say anything about her not having an opinion. I said she’s rude and it really wasn’t needed…
Honestly. I may not have a garden now. But both rosemary and lavender are very invasive and spreading plants. Should be planted in their own space
I’ve never once had a volunteer of either and never found them to be invasive.
As a British gardener this makes me so sad. Your garden could be so beautiful if you took a couple of small steps. The neglect method is tried and true. But your garden I'm sorry to say is a not thriving.
My garden is absolutely thriving and abundant. Your comment is utterly ignorant. What are you hoping to accomplish with your “feedback”?
Luckily All that matters is that she's happy with it! You're commenting on a video on the middle if February, when 90% of things are dormant?!?
Her garden is amazing. I'm far less of a fan of formal English gardens that are too stuck up. A garden should be a labor of love and she embodies that.
Please don't do that. It's February!
