Anytime you Don't have a gap between the bed and the floor you can get mold from your body heat and moisture when you are in bed, also with dog beds. It's happened to us, you will be fine with the new bed frames with the gap.

The bedroom looks great! Maybe it was the mold that was making you sick last year. The curtains are amazing. Excited to see everything in its place and used. Great job thrifting.

some of those large bowls would look good sitting on the kitchen bench with fruit & vegies in them, ready to use or eat.

I think the damp was caused by the bed base sitting on the floor, don't think you have rising damp, hope your carpet/rug is salvageable, as it was very pretty, ply wood doesn't breath very well, it should be okay to put a rug back, now you have the bed up off the floor
you could try getting some form of cork tiles to go under the floor to help with keeping the warmth in or something that is removable in the summer, when you don't need it

if you put the bed frame on a few planks, you'll get enough airflow to hinder the buildup of mould underneath :) or pallets.. that'll work too :)

This was a fantastic video! It’s amazing that you could be on the road, unload and move everything, get a little sleep, help the neighbor’s sick dog and then clean part of the house, laundry, put together that fabulous bedroom and hang curtains all in one day. Thankfully the weather is cooperating so you can sit outside with a meal, take a break and enjoy that gorgeous view. All that plus filming and editing a vlog. Thanks so much for showing all the thrifted and gifted goodies you brought back, too. The dinner plates are my favorite. I love the “new” curtains and that beautiful bedspread.

Because we are very aware of how climate change is affecting the warmer parts of Spain and would like to always have enough water for our land to thrive 🙂

Hello there, I'm have been doing catch up, nearly there, and enjoying your blog, so thank you.
I have watched you Alojandra, hope spelling is correct, struggling with fatigue and other health problems and admire your attitude to trying to build up your fitness, and wonder if perhaps you can eat mushrooms for protein, I've read that and spinach etc are good "meat" substitutes, I also appreciate you may not be able to purchase them, however mushrooms can be grown in a box in a dark space and spinach/silverbeet in pots etc.
I am not a vegan but do eat meatless meals, and find these 2 veg filling and, well, I actually like them .
Anyway just a thought and I'm sure you already know about them, wishing you both well, and I'll be catching up rest of your trip away today, sending ❤from Western Australia ❤

As a foreigner who lives in Spain, animal neglect is often construed as a cultural issue, however, this is not the case. The ley de animal covers animal rights, and the deplorable state of poor cookie is sanctionable. My husband is Spanish and is the first to take any of our fur babies to the vet if they have the slightest issue.
Hi Josephine! Totally agree that animal neglect should not be justifies as a cultural issue. I have worked in animal welfare and am very passionate about the topic. I'm aware of the Spanish law and would never doubt to take action against a case of abuse. However, I am also able to see the limitations of this rural part we're living in, where some people live in conditions of poverty and neglect that I didn't even know were possible in Europe. We know that the owners love their dog and are just not capable of properly caring for him when he's sick. And luckily we're here and in a position to help. We're doing what we believe is in the best interest of everyone involved (furry baby included). ❤
@WaleandMe Thanks for clarifying your comment, I did worry that it gave the message that Spanish people don't care about their pets. Your neighbours are extremely fortunate to have such compassionate friends who are able and willing to help. Thank you both so much. 💓
Cookie's skin looks like it could be an allergic reaction to flees, I've seen it before and it looks like mange.👍
That’s what we are hoping it is as well. The medication we got him is for fleas, ticks and other parasites 😊
