- After a very busy few weeks in the Netherlands and Belgium looking for and thrifting tools, furniture and much more second hand, we've finally gotten almost everything we need and are ready to go back. The search has been long and tedious, but we're so happy with the gems we've gotten. Now the only question is, how will we get it all back to Spain?

My you certainly packed a lot of stuff into your trailer! Can’t wait to see some of your goodies unveiled when you get back to Spain and start unpacking! ❤
Haha yes, we've moved so much that we're expert packers at this point 🙈❤
The wooden furniture piece looks really strong and expensive, what a score.👍
I love it, I collect them and didn't even know that they come from here. I've been finding different animals at markets over the years.👍
That said, building materials and tools are expensive so finding good used and over bought goods is a great way of keeping the costs down and recycling.
Absolutely! We’ve saved so much money already 😊
You guys have great taste, love the lamp.❤
It's taken a while to watch again as I have not been well, but what a great video, luckily I have more to go to catch up again.❤
We really enjoyed the antiques section of El Rastro in Madrid. Got a beautiful blanket from Cuba for 10 Euro. So many gorgeous, reasonably priced items that i could not easily take home from my travels. That one area had all kinds of intriguing items.
Ah yes, El Rastro is great! We'll definitely be going there when we're in Madrid 🙂
Definitely a great haul and a contact to keep and use again, just arrive early lol.😂
I enjoyed your video. It's nice to share your enthusiasm with us.
Thank you so much!
You would have battled to get me out of that warehouse as well lol, my garage is starting to look like that though.👍
I love the fact that you are so excited about your zebra😍
I am Chantal from SA and recognised it as Phoenix Pottery immediately🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
That's so cool! I absolutely love my zebra 🥰
nice to see you both back on line again x
Thank you! We're happy to be back
Bon viatge 👏👏👏
Thank you for a beautiful video 👌💖🌷
The Netherlands is a beautiful country!
Serious question- are there no thrift stores in northern Spain?
Not really no. The culture is just not there as people in Spain tend to hold on to things longer I think. There are some more antique type places but we’ve visited all of them without finding what we need. And then there’s online of course, but that’s not handy for everything.
Thrifting is one of the things I miss the most when in Spain 🙃
Great video, thank you for sharing ♥️
Great video. Have a nice trip to spain!
Thanks! 😃
Hi, I really enjoyed this video. Can you please tell me the name of the beautiful village you visited before collecting your couch. I was born in Laren (NH) and now live in South Australia
Hi Lindy! The village we visited is called Geertruidenberg. Laren is also so lovely. Thank you for the support! ❤
I was actually going to ask about the tiny house design, and where in the Netherlands that tine house village/neighborhood is? We are still dreaming of having a small or tiny house in Europe, and for me, I would love it to be in the Netherlands 😊.
The tiny house community we were working on was going to be near Amersfoort, but it never went through unfortunately. There's plenty of tiny house projects in the Netherlands, but the hardest part is finding land to put them on. Hope you are more successful than we were ☺
@@WaleandMe that makes sense. I assumed you had already found a place where they were building them. My mistake 😉. Here in the US, there’s plenty of land, but the problem is getting a permit to build a tiny house on the land. In the US it still often “bigger is better” 🙄
@@anneliesjoss That's a shame! There are so many cool possibilities with tiny or small homes.. it all comes down to good design at the end of the day.
@@WaleandMe yep, we already downsized to a smaller house, and so far it’s our favorite home. We have a nice sized backyard, considering we live in the suburbs, with neighbors a bit too close, but we’ve planted so many trees that you can barely see the other houses. We are lucky that most days it’s a very quiet neighborhood, and the sounds we hear the most is birds singing, and once in a while a dog bark 😊
That's amazing! Congrats on creating a little corner of paradise for yourselves
