Your information is amazing! I’ve been trying to get 2 different “sprinkler guys” to convert parts of my system to drip for more than 2 years. I’m a plumber’s daughter so I’m not intimidated about doing it but I also know that I could get into trouble if I don’t really understand the system. And neither Dad nor either of my brothers are around any longer to help. (And the girls weren’t really encouraged to learn plumbing!) After watching a boatload of videos, and especially yours, I actually think I understand it now! You mentioned that you’re available by phone so I may call, just to solidify my plan. Thanks so much!

Thank you! This is something I can relay to my landscaper. I have drips in three planter pots on the same zone, I think. Only one works when the zone is activated. I also have another drip zone for the raised beds. I added tubing to the orbit 8 port manifold and I unfortunately over tightened one screw and it started leaking. The project is on hold for now. My question is to you is there a better way to layout 1/4 tubing from the riser? I haven’t found a good video laying out 8 tubes from the manifold in a raised bed successfully.

For the not working, perhaps there is a shut off valve somewhere (hidden) or it’s disconnected from the lateral line, or the emitter(s) are clogged. Id follow the line backwards and see where it leads you.
I’d need to see a picture of your setup to provide helpful tips on the 1/4” layout. It’s pretty forgiving and hard to go wrong, other than just keeping it organized.

Question.. is it the same case with the mini sprinkler ?? I have regular sprayers for the side of my yard and one sprayer in a bed that is 8 by 8 ... that bed does not get enough water so I wanna converting to those mini sprayers... would that work??

It’s just sprinklers, lots of options, and the best practice is to match the precipitation rate for everything on the zone.

Didn’t help at all. How do you create a separate drip zone?

Zones are (usually) controlled by an electric valve, activated by a controller. To create another zone you will add another valve. If there isn’t any room left on the controller to add another valve, you can control the zone with a battery timer attached to the valve. You are welcome to contact me directly with questions. -Andy

So the answer is this: Yes, you can, if it works for you. Just be sure it works for you.

@innocentbystander3798 - correct, it’s an advanced move that requires more technical knowledge than the average Joe. If you know what you’re doing you know what you’re doing 👍
