The simplest dish that i can think of that go well with Kecap Manis just is Rice poured with Kecap+Egg (Scrambled or Sunnyside). It also great for grilling sauce (It caramelized beautifully), as Dipping sauce (Just add chopped shallots+Chopped chillies+Chopped Onion and you're good to go), Pairs well with many our traditional soup (Soto, Gulai, Kari .etc).

The thing is, kecap manis/sweet soy sauce is more of a seasoning first and dipping sauce second. When caramelized, it has deep umami flavor with distinct sweetness, you can use it for authentic Indonesia cuisine or use it to subtitute soy sauce or brown sugar. You can use it to for dipping sauce by itself for certain foods (such as fried tofu, dimsum, fried chicken, etc), but if you combine it with the hot sauce you can pretty much dip anything with it. When eaten by itself, well, it taste bad lol
