    What beautiful pieces! Can't wait to see them from the kiln!

    Another great video Mikkel, I especially loved the black vase you made - a really stunning effect with the white clay. The brown clay, when wet, unfortunately reminded me of baby poo. Seeing you hands covered in it brought back horrific memories of me on nappy changing duty when my kids were babies🤢😂 Like others have already said, I’m very much looking forward to the glazing and firing process and seeing the final result. 👌🏻

      Thanks - hehe, I actually love that light brown "poo" color and wish it would stay that way. But it's iron and it does turn dark brows, which is also beautiful :-)

    I have just finished an evening with Mikkel deMib! First I watched your latest video on pit firing which was very informative then I watched this one and now it’s bedtime. Well, you certainly entertained me and I love you saying that breaking the ‘rules’ is something we should do. I am constantly getting frowns and advice at the studio I pot at but most of the time my way works out just fine including bisque firing my plates on their rims… no breakages or cracks, another tip from a You Tube potter! But seriously thank you for all the experiments with the colours of clay and I can’t wait to see the bisque pieces and how you glaze them. You are such a fun person to watch and because I’m at a similar level as you I love seeing how you attempt to fix your mistakes. Please don’t cut them out as I learn from that too! We are sweltering in a heat wave here tonight so if I can’t sleep I’ll watch some of your earlier videos. Catch you next week. Best wishes
    Lynne New Zealand

    Love the long video as I was in my studio throwing, mind you I couldn’t skip the adverts with clay hands 😆 I’ve never tried different coloured clays, the black & white and the black & red look lovely 😊

      Thanks a lot. Yeah, we all have to live with ads and with muddy hands impossible to skip. I know the feeling :-)

    Wow, what an absolute treat you gave us today. So many many colors and ideas. I love all the mixing of colors and the beautiful vases and bowl you made. I hadn't thought of digging groves outside and in and adding the other color. It does look like a bit of a battle to get them blended. But that's worth it. Your work as always is so amazing and beautiful. What a view you have out your windows! I saw one potter cut groves of clay with the same tool out of the clay to insert into his centered piece. Your coils work really well also. I love how you explain step by step. You answer questions I have and even some I didn't have yet. I always like to see and hear others deal with issues that I deal with. Thank you for sharing all your ideas and talents. I go to a studio tomorrow and want to try this.

    As always it's such a treat and joy to watch your videos 💓 I really like the longer format! It was over and I didn't want it to end 😭 haha 😂 I was thinking, "oooOOooo I wonder 🤔 how black & red would work" and then boom 💥 there it was! 😮 I can not wait to see how it fires ⏳ tic tic tic toc lol
    At the moment I have not been well enough to get back to my clay work, but I'm hoping it will be soon 🤞🏼
    In the meantime I live vicariously through vids like yours👀🥰
    Thank you for sharing your experience with us so generously 🙏🏼😊

    Look forward to the glazing video. Zinc free clear glaze on black clay will prevent it turning that very dark brown colour.

    • @deMibPottery
      @deMibPottery  8 місяців тому

      It's not actually turning brown. It stays black with the clear glaze I use. There is just something very nice about the mat unglazed surface :-)
      I have limited space so unfortunately I cannot have too many glazes and also I ONLY fire Cone 6 glazes here

    • @leonoraheaven8893
      @leonoraheaven8893 8 місяців тому

      @@deMibPottery I also only fire to cone 6 and just purchased a commercial glaze to get around the problem . Love your videos keep making.
