Superstitions❤️ Off trail navigation🔥👍 Hoodoos in the clouds🤯🔥❤️ You picked the perfect day for this adventure. The Superstitions are rugged when you’re on trail. Once you get off trail the true understanding and appreciation for just how rugged it can be starts. Well done man👍
The conditions were awesome! Wish I planned it, but that was just dumb luck. As my adventures continue to evolve, I plan to do more of this cross country hiking. So much fun!
I was out in that fog doing an overnight. The mountains look so much more menacing in the haze. I also attempted this same route but we eventually hit a spot going up the right spine that my buddy wasn’t comfortable with so we turned around. Ended up finding some petroglyphs up there that I still haven’t found any documentation for
The fog was awesome! Such a different experience. You're right, not being able to see the top made the navigating a little more nerve wracking. I took my best guess at a route and went for it. I saw cairns about 75% of the way up, which was comforting.
Love it... keep exploring. What fun in regular trail that someone created, you find your own way, is motivating amidst of cloud covers, I wouldn't dare it... kudos to you 🎉👍💪🙌
Many mountains in Norway have names after somebody who fell down in the fog, but it is nice to see you again can make a video slightly less dangerous than 50/50 :)
I met MoonJuice a few days ago while out hiking in the Superstitions. I had never heard of the Reverse Flatiron...what a great hike! Definitely going to check this one out! I'm sure I can't duplicate the magical conditions you did this in, but looks absolutely awesome! Loved talking with ya.
Yes! It was cool meeting you guys too. No doubt the fog made this hike even better. I've done the same hike a couple of times since then, its still really cool on a sunny day. Just have to enjoy the route finding aspect as much as much as the hike/climb itself. Have fun!
Hey, This Is Joe, I met you yesterday at the Peralta trail head. Let me know when you will be doing this again. You mentioned maybe in December. How can I contact you?
Hey Joe! Cool, right? I haven’t pinned down a date, but I’m thinking mid- December. Shoot me an email. Breven@resolemate.com. Did you find LaBarge spring?
Flatiron is the name of a spot on the Superstition Mountains. Normally people would go up to flatiron then to the peak but he took another trail then bush wacked the rest of the way to the peak then came down flatiron
Wow, that looks like something out of a dream!

I’ve been meaning to get up to the summit of Tortilla Mountain….

Being a native of Mesa and the Valley of the Sun, I can assure you that this best, if not only, time of year to hike the Superstitions.
Definitely the best!
Other than making route finding a little harder what a lucky day to experience the Superstitions in the clouds!
Couldn't agree more! The clouds were incredible... such a rare opportunity.
Last time I did massacre falls I was wondering how hard it would be to go to the summit from there! I’m definitely gonna have to do this now!
Oh yeah, you’ll like this one Chase
I did this today, it was epic! Went up Canyon of the Waterfalls instead of massacre.
Right on! It's also fun to do the reverse in reverse...up Siphon Drawn to 5024 and down the Canyon or Massacre ridge. Choose your adventure!

Why the name flat iron? I've been living in the sierra for a few decades and we call what you're doing cross country hiking.
It’s a landmark just below the 5024 peak. It’s pretty prominent on the western edge of the Superstitions.
