These are all internal failures. There are also external failures, such as a seized wastegate actuator. A common fault on the VW EA211 engine. If it sits too long unused, the actuator arm that controls the butterfly valve will seize closed. If this happens, you will need to strip, clean, and grease the actuator arm for it to work again. The biggest problem with the repair is access. As the turbo is at the rear of the engine bay, right next to the firewall, space for tools is very tight.
i ordered a full set of front suspension arms , ball joints & sway bar links. i chose the bilstien for quality!! lol one uppper arm failed within 4 months due to no grease in the ball joint 😢. im scared!!
