If I'm shooting for fun, I enjoy irons more. If for results, like hunting or a target match, a scope or other optic is the way to go, though with practice, the difference between them is greatly diminished.

Good job. I was just thinking that I may not like English gun laws, but that shoot looked like fun. I also loved that backstop. I usually just follow a logging road in the woods and bang away with a slope as a backstop, or if your lucky you find a pile of gravel. Since out here in Oregon the ground is usually straight up and down (kinda like where you live), the gravel pile is probably your best bet for flat ground shooting. Thanx for the informational video.
Even with the restrictions (no centre fire semi-autos or conventional pistols for example), we can still do a lot of shooting! And despite what the media might want us to believe, it is very popular! Given the right club with the space to shoot them, we can even shoot .50BMG!

That match looked like a bloody blast. And indeed, it does echo the matches that the forces here in Canada do, if a little more varied, and a little more interesting, but that is probably due to unfamiliarity on my part than anything. I have got to start shooting more again, seems my favourite pre-military hobby has completely fallen by the wayside in the years since I joined. Thanks for sharing Bloke! And great shooting as well.

@@geezerp1982 yep, I've shot LBPs and LBRs. The real calibres for the urban match implied rule and not being able to lend long barrelled pistols would make it difficult even if you could reasonably go downrange and kneel to shoot a rifle while you have a holstered LBP... all too messy.
Wow, I'm new to the channel. Looks like great fun. I'm sure you did much better than I would have. I didn't care for the gray butts with almost same color targets. I did see there was some wind that day also. I would add that not many rifles have as slick actions as the Number 4. The one exception would be a Krag/Jorgensen. I own a Tikka in 6.5 Creedmoor and love it.
They are expensive but here in the uk a ctr is £1500 decent iron sights would set you back £300 plus the effort involved in fitting and then a laminate stock at £300 so you’re up at £2100. The arctic can be had for around £2200 on offer so it seems expensive at first but does make sense when you break it down
When I made that video, a CTR was about CHF 1500 and the Arctic 3200 in Switzerland, which was a biiiiiiig gap. I don't know what the prices are now though, I haven't looked.

In all seriousness I was thinking that kind of fast hand only can have young guys that dont have girlfriend yet. I got Tikka. And yes even butterfly can move that slide.
Have you considered doing a video on G.E. Fulton and Son regulated Lee Enfields? I have a No.1 MkIII that has been regulated by G.E. Fulton and Son of Bisley that is in near new condition. There is no royal crest or cypher on the butt socket, only marking is BSA Co. so I assume it was never issued to any army. It also has "Regulated by Fulton" on the knox form. My rifle has a PH5A micrometer peep sight and a single stage trigger that breaks crisply at 4 lbs. and is quite accurate. I, and many others would be interested in hearing more about the company and the accurizing techniques they used on their rifles.
Seems little tedious, the way you Brits have to operate these type of matches, but of course any firearms training, tedious or not is better than none at all. Some US people would probably say the same about Finnish safety and operating standards, in our shooting competitions so that isn't really a big deal. Great video as usual, keep up the good work!
God damn. I never would have guessed that thing costs $3 grand. I was actually looking into getting a tikka t3 tactical in 6.5 creedmore for a precision gun(in 24 inch) and the MSRP here(the u.s.) is only like $1200 bucks(street price probably like a grand.) The tac a1 precision model with the super duper 100 way adjustable stock, full length pic rail, m-lock handguard, muzzle brake, etc. goes for about $1500-1700. Though granted, I have no idea what the differences there may be between these guns, and the guns the Canadian rangers got.
They're not so expensive in the US, but they're more expensive than the standard Tikkas cos there's some upgraded SAKO parts in there (stock, trigger mech) not to mention the unique sights.
I'm debating whether to shell out for the Tikka T3 Arctic. Would you say it's worth it? I love iron sights, but I'm also wondering if I can put a scope on it and stretch it out to long distance shooting. Cheers! Love your videos
Thanks - I'm thoroughly enjoying the rifle, and it's the only really good iron sighted option. So if your budget stretches to it, i'd say do it. If all you want to do is scopes over longer distances, there's better options for the money.
While I like the T3 Arctic, I could not help but notice after a quick look at the Cabelas Canada website that they list several other versions of the T3 for about half of the cost. The compact tactical version of the T3 looks rather attractive, and the lack of open sights would allow for a lower scope placement than the Arctic, plus it comes equipped with a muzzle break. On the other hand you'd give up features like the stainless barrel and laminate stock.
polvonegro1 I love my arctic, beautiful shooting rifle. I also have a ruger gunsite scout and it is no comparison, if you have the money I cannot give a reason not to buy one.

I bet the forend on your No.4 is bearing laterally at the muzzle bearing, cos that's a classic symptom of a warped stock. The Tikka's POI stays exactly where it should (quite heavy barrel, free-floated).
Last time you featured this family discipline I asked if I could use an Ruger American with the AR mags. And you said I couldn't. But here you are with the T3. I think I must have asked the wrong question so I will ask a new one! Which of these disciplines can you shoot a modern bolt action (like the American and T3) with optics? Sorry to be a nuisance.
You asked in respect of Historic Service Rifle, which is limited to pre-45 designs. You could shoot your Ruger American in Civilian Service Rifle with irons in Any Irons division, or with optics in Practical Optics division. Since it's not based on a service rifle you probably couldn't shoot it in Service Optics division.
@@BlokeontheRange CSR service optic limitations are based on supportive devices, mag maximum, calibre, etc, there's no restriction on design or age of design of rifle. There are other service rifle matches shot at Bisley which have different restrictions. CSR with a modern bolt action in practical optic is just fine with any magnification.
I never said there was an age limit for CSR... That was in respect of Historic Service Rifle. However, for CSR Service Optic, the Handbook states: "c. The barrel may be no longer than was supplied for that type of firearm in it's [sic] military or commercial equivalent configuration at time of issue or manufacture". What's the barrel length of a Ruger American in its military configuration, given that it's not a military rifle?
I can't tell in the video for sure, but are you putting your elbow on your knee when you kneel? If so try putting it inside your knee pushing your elbow against it instead of resting on it. A sergeant taught me that it made a huge difference in my kneeling shooting.
My elbow is forward of my knee. What you're describing sounds to me like introducing unnecessary muscle tension and forces in sideways directions, but I might try it some time.

@@FlySwann I've tried that version. Makes me incredibly wobbly, sideways, depends on how flexible your hips are. You should try not to rest bone on bone (it's wobbly) but the most stable position for me is the underside of my arm against the flat of my leg and as low as I can get. Others who aren't as flexible can't get that low so that version doesn't work for them...
@Joe Ç no not really, I suppose if I were trying it with a heavier firearm maybe. And it does wobble less for me because it's become muscle memory on where my elbow goes to. And it gives me more movement with the weapon without moving my whole body. But I can also brace against my hip in standing shooting when going for precision so I'm a bit more flexible then average. And since I was in the US infantry I'm maybe a bit more physically fit than average as well.

So after all of this shooting and experience with the Tikka sights would you rather have a more adjustable Target aperture? I think the biggest disadvantage in the Tikka sights is there is no way to quickly adjust for wind. What ammo were you using and what seems to match the drum the best? Thanks
A more adjustable target aperture? Not at all! Firstly, they're bulky and get in the way, they're visually unergonomic, and in a match like this you just aim off for wind anyway. I mean, if there was a lateral click adjustment with accurate zero datum I'd have used it, but I don't feel like it's missing, and it would significantly reduce the robustness of the sight so my general view on such things is they have no place on practical rifles. I was using Saltech 147gn M80 Ball, and it matches the drum well enough at least up to 300, and probably up to at least 400 based on the hold-under I was using. Given the grouping capability that a 20" barrel implies, it's probably going to be well enough on at 500 too, since the difference in ammo types isn't going to be giving more than a couple of MOA trajectory difference at that distance, if that.
@@BlokeontheRange I agree I don't like the bulky target aperture. I was thinking something more like a M1 garand sight I feel like it is a practical quick system. I do love the simplicity of the the Tikka aperture though. Do you find the front sight easy to hold for wind? I am seriously thinking of buying the Tikka. The Garand system requires counting clicks from a datum that is probably arbitrary (unless you can windage adjust the front sight for zero, which you actually can on an M1 although I don't know if it was actually done in service). I'm not a fan of having to count clicks, since if you forget the number of clicks from the datum and you've been adjusting you've unzeroed your rifle. Holding the front sight for wind is easy - and the 2nd gen sight that the importer put on the rifle when I sent it back helps this cos the blade is much better proportioned than the earlier fatter one.

Are pump action AR style rifles allowed? That would seem a bit easier than even straight pull bolt actions, but militaries went with bolt action over pump and lever actions for a reason I suppose.
Agreed, charging the rifle using the supporting arm is a bad idea. Steyr AUGs in straight pull are lovely, but unless you have them modified with a right hand cocking lever, they are hard work compared to a bolt gun or AR.
How does making safe work for clip fed rifles? With the Lee Enfields you can swap the mag with the bolt closed, but do people shoot with any fixed mag clip fed rifles and if so how does that work?
People typically don't remove the Lee-Enfield mags, so you push the top round down and close the bolt over it. If you're shooting a straight-pull M1 Garand you'll have to load 7 and do the same thing, or just start empty. I'll ask one of those guys what they do next time. I guess a Mannlicher-type would do the same thing. But fundamentally aside from a couple of straight-pull M1's, nobody's going to be shooting a Mannlicher clip fed rifle really.
@@BlokeontheRange the M1 shooters underload and top up with another clip. Since almost all stages are 10 rounds they have to do that anyway (unless it is two mags of 5 in which case they do 5 and 5 the same as everyone else).
But Every one says tikka T3 bolt is the best and can never bond etc. Thats why im not that impressed with tikkas T3s. They usualy have zero features and usualt horrible stocks(Polymer etc) This rifle atleast make somthing of the T3 rifle. You man is pure bolt action skill 😊
Probably, or just shooting PPU.I have 3 303 brit rifles myself and there's little gains to be had from handloading VS shooting the PP FMJ's TBH,rifle dependent but id say no more than 0.3moa at best.I take it you're American and 303 is harder to get that in places like the UK(im assuming) or here in Australia where 303's are rather common (its un Australian to not at least have one SMLE!) so ammo is seriously nearly as common as say 22lr or 308. Dont try finding bloody 7.62x39 though, fark me its hard to come by!

@@willydstyle not really actually, since practicle rifle is NOT about who can mag dump the fastest or man vs man ! there was one fella on youtube, an austrilian, who entered a practicle rifle compition which mainly semi auto rifles, this fella used a bolt action and DIDNT came last he beat more then few semi auto shooters ! in terms for the general military, yes the bolt action is most likely obsolete, but for the legally armed citizen 'behind ememy' lines state / country it is not ! and a highly trained one using a bolt action will be effective !
@@geezerp1982 All that means is that the australian man was quite a bit better than quite a few people, but I bet he would have done a lot better with a semi-auto. Semi-auto rifles offer an advantage in any timed shooting situation, not just for "mag dumping" or speed shooting, because they reduce the number of operations and shot-to-shot variability in cheek weld, sight picture, etc.

What are rules when traveling across international ( in Europe) borders whilst transporting firearms? I'm assuming it's different traveling through EU coutries.
i'll do a video on it, but for sports shooters or hunters you need a European Firearms Pass and an invitation letter to the event you're attending. How many firearms you can transport depends on the country. Must be declared on entering / leaving EU customs area (although most people are unaware of this and don't bother), and you need a Visitor's Permit for the UK.

As the name suggests, it applies to visitors to the UK, i.e. people resident outside the UK, irrespective of their nationality. I am only a UK citizen, I haven't served my time in CH to even apply here yet.
Good shooting! Great match. I was watching you and I would like to encourage you to learn how to shoot with your sling as a helpful stabilizer. As a former gun dealer, avid hunter and former Master at Arms and other titles, I will tell you unless you are using a bipod or other mechanical means of support you cannot shoot as consistently without a sling as you can using a sling. When you get your sling wrapped around your elbow and wrist and it applies pressure to the back of your stock supporting hand it will feel like the gun is a part of your body and it will not move unless you want it to. I see however when you are shooting in a sitting position, which is one of the best positions to make use of a sling, your ankles are not locked into your calves of your legs either. Try getting in a seated position and place the top of at least one of your feet against your calf of the opposite leg, right handed you should use your right foot against your left calf and pull your other leg up as your adjustment leg. The foot against your calf will be your resting point for your elbow with the sling wrapped tightly. Also, next time you are in a prone position make absolutely sure that your right leg and the barrel of the gun are as straight as you can get it pointing straight at the target. Hope these observations will help. By the way the sling that you have fitted to that rifle is exactly the width needed to start using it as a stabilizer. They knew what they were doing when they put that sling on that rifle. And whether you do not see that a sling could have helped you in what you call snap shooting, it is just a matter of taking instructions and being willing to learn that it indeed will make a difference in any way you shoot. And to be honest I found them rather condescending. Hence my somewhat prickly reply. There's 2 types, and they're both great. I have a bunch of them. "They knew what they were doing when they put that sling on that rifle. " Indeed. *I* knew what *I* was doing when *I* put that sling on that rifle. The rifle does not come with a Chinese Type 56 sling, or indeed any sling. I also enjoy the delicious irony of a $7 sling on a $3000 rifle. "And whether you do not see that a sling could have helped you in what you call snap shooting, it is just a matter of taking instructions and being willing to learn that it indeed will make a difference in any way you shoot" I'm using it in all the snap shooting components aside from when standing is involved. It makes no difference standing, since it doesn't cause your bones to take more of the weight if your elbow is in the air. People think it's helping cos it feels "comforting", but it isn't. You'll also note that in ISSF/Olympic style rifle shooting they don't use them standing either (although they do the "elbow on hip" position which is inappropriate for this kind of shooting and for rifles this light). "it is just a matter of taking instructions and being willing to learn" OK, this was the most condescending part of the whole thing that triggered me the most. Tell me, how many times have you shot a Queen's 1 course of fire clean in competition over all 3 ranges? Shot a 2 and 10 target rifle course of fire at 1000 yds clean in competition? Won a major competition? There's 2 examples of me winning serious bolt-action service rifle comps on this very channel, one of which was fired the day before this video was filmed. And in both cases I used the sling for support where appropriate. @@BlokeontheRange Kneeling is a very good position when hunting so you don't end up shooting through grass or scrub. For a square range it's wholly inferior to sitting.
Sitting is the position that is actually being slowly written out of Millitary parlance. Both in the US, Australia and other coalition nations as the "Combat Shooting" mindset takes over.
The scale of that match sure looks impressive.

AR's are getting popular here now, that US companies such as LMT, CMMG, spikes tatical and few others are making uk compliant AR-15s / AR-10s

When I made that video, a CTR was about CHF 1500 and the Arctic 3200 in Switzerland, which was a biiiiiiig gap. I don't know what the prices are now though, I haven't looked.

Have you considered doing a video on G.E. Fulton and Son regulated Lee Enfields? I have a No.1 MkIII that has been regulated by G.E. Fulton and Son of Bisley that is in near new condition. There is no royal crest or cypher on the butt socket, only marking is BSA Co. so I assume it was never issued to any army. It also has "Regulated by Fulton" on the knox form. My rifle has a PH5A micrometer peep sight and a single stage trigger that breaks crisply at 4 lbs. and is quite accurate. I, and many others would be interested in hearing more about the company and the accurizing techniques they used on their rifles.
Don't have the rifles to do it on, really - might be able to liaise with someone in the UK to do it at a point in the future though!
Seems little tedious, the way you Brits have to operate these type of matches, but of course any firearms training, tedious or not is better than none at all. Some US people would probably say the same about Finnish safety and operating standards, in our shooting competitions so that isn't really a big deal. Great video as usual, keep up the good work!

God damn. I never would have guessed that thing costs $3 grand. I was actually looking into getting a tikka t3 tactical in 6.5 creedmore for a precision gun(in 24 inch) and the MSRP here(the u.s.) is only like $1200 bucks(street price probably like a grand.) The tac a1 precision model with the super duper 100 way adjustable stock, full length pic rail, m-lock handguard, muzzle brake, etc. goes for about $1500-1700.
Though granted, I have no idea what the differences there may be between these guns, and the guns the Canadian rangers got.
They're not so expensive in the US, but they're more expensive than the standard Tikkas cos there's some upgraded SAKO parts in there (stock, trigger mech) not to mention the unique sights.
Learn your holdovers at each range! Good shooting.

Thanks - I'm thoroughly enjoying the rifle, and it's the only really good iron sighted option. So if your budget stretches to it, i'd say do it. If all you want to do is scopes over longer distances, there's better options for the money.
While I like the T3 Arctic, I could not help but notice after a quick look at the Cabelas Canada website that they list several other versions of the T3 for about half of the cost. The compact tactical version of the T3 looks rather attractive, and the lack of open sights would allow for a lower scope placement than the Arctic, plus it comes equipped with a muzzle break. On the other hand you'd give up features like the stainless barrel and laminate stock.
polvonegro1 I love my arctic, beautiful shooting rifle. I also have a ruger gunsite scout and it is no comparison, if you have the money I cannot give a reason not to buy one.

I bet the forend on your No.4 is bearing laterally at the muzzle bearing, cos that's a classic symptom of a warped stock. The Tikka's POI stays exactly where it should (quite heavy barrel, free-floated).
Last time you featured this family discipline I asked if I could use an Ruger American with the AR mags. And you said I couldn't. But here you are with the T3. I think I must have asked the wrong question so I will ask a new one! Which of these disciplines can you shoot a modern bolt action (like the American and T3) with optics? Sorry to be a nuisance.
You asked in respect of Historic Service Rifle, which is limited to pre-45 designs. You could shoot your Ruger American in Civilian Service Rifle with irons in Any Irons division, or with optics in Practical Optics division. Since it's not based on a service rifle you probably couldn't shoot it in Service Optics division.

@@BlokeontheRange CSR service optic limitations are based on supportive devices, mag maximum, calibre, etc, there's no restriction on design or age of design of rifle. There are other service rifle matches shot at Bisley which have different restrictions.
CSR with a modern bolt action in practical optic is just fine with any magnification.
I never said there was an age limit for CSR... That was in respect of Historic Service Rifle. However, for CSR Service Optic, the Handbook states: "c. The barrel may be no longer than was supplied for that type of firearm in it's [sic] military or commercial equivalent configuration at time of issue or manufacture". What's the barrel length of a Ruger American in its military configuration, given that it's not a military rifle?

I can't tell in the video for sure, but are you putting your elbow on your knee when you kneel? If so try putting it inside your knee pushing your elbow against it instead of resting on it. A sergeant taught me that it made a huge difference in my kneeling shooting.
My elbow is forward of my knee. What you're describing sounds to me like introducing unnecessary muscle tension and forces in sideways directions, but I might try it some time.

@@FlySwann I've tried that version. Makes me incredibly wobbly, sideways, depends on how flexible your hips are. You should try not to rest bone on bone (it's wobbly) but the most stable position for me is the underside of my arm against the flat of my leg and as low as I can get. Others who aren't as flexible can't get that low so that version doesn't work for them...
@Joe Ç no not really, I suppose if I were trying it with a heavier firearm maybe. And it does wobble less for me because it's become muscle memory on where my elbow goes to. And it gives me more movement with the weapon without moving my whole body. But I can also brace against my hip in standing shooting when going for precision so I'm a bit more flexible then average. And since I was in the US infantry I'm maybe a bit more physically fit than average as well.

So after all of this shooting and experience with the Tikka sights would you rather have a more adjustable Target aperture? I think the biggest disadvantage in the Tikka sights is there is no way to quickly adjust for wind. What ammo were you using and what seems to match the drum the best? Thanks
A more adjustable target aperture? Not at all! Firstly, they're bulky and get in the way, they're visually unergonomic, and in a match like this you just aim off for wind anyway. I mean, if there was a lateral click adjustment with accurate zero datum I'd have used it, but I don't feel like it's missing, and it would significantly reduce the robustness of the sight so my general view on such things is they have no place on practical rifles.
I was using Saltech 147gn M80 Ball, and it matches the drum well enough at least up to 300, and probably up to at least 400 based on the hold-under I was using. Given the grouping capability that a 20" barrel implies, it's probably going to be well enough on at 500 too, since the difference in ammo types isn't going to be giving more than a couple of MOA trajectory difference at that distance, if that.

I do love the simplicity of the the Tikka aperture though. Do you find the front sight easy to hold for wind? I am seriously thinking of buying the Tikka. The Garand system requires counting clicks from a datum that is probably arbitrary (unless you can windage adjust the front sight for zero, which you actually can on an M1 although I don't know if it was actually done in service). I'm not a fan of having to count clicks, since if you forget the number of clicks from the datum and you've been adjusting you've unzeroed your rifle.
Holding the front sight for wind is easy - and the 2nd gen sight that the importer put on the rifle when I sent it back helps this cos the blade is much better proportioned than the earlier fatter one.

Are pump action AR style rifles allowed? That would seem a bit easier than even straight pull bolt actions, but militaries went with bolt action over pump and lever actions for a reason I suppose.
No. Pump action centrefire is not permitted, and even if it were, you wouldn't want them when the vast majority of shooting is prone / kneeling.
Agreed, charging the rifle using the supporting arm is a bad idea.
Steyr AUGs in straight pull are lovely, but unless you have them modified with a right hand cocking lever, they are hard work compared to a bolt gun or AR.
How does making safe work for clip fed rifles? With the Lee Enfields you can swap the mag with the bolt closed, but do people shoot with any fixed mag clip fed rifles and if so how does that work?
People typically don't remove the Lee-Enfield mags, so you push the top round down and close the bolt over it. If you're shooting a straight-pull M1 Garand you'll have to load 7 and do the same thing, or just start empty. I'll ask one of those guys what they do next time. I guess a Mannlicher-type would do the same thing. But fundamentally aside from a couple of straight-pull M1's, nobody's going to be shooting a Mannlicher clip fed rifle really.
@@BlokeontheRange the M1 shooters underload and top up with another clip. Since almost all stages are 10 rounds they have to do that anyway (unless it is two mags of 5 in which case they do 5 and 5 the same as everyone else).
My #4 mk2 and #5 JC work just fine given the price.
But Every one says tikka T3 bolt is the best and can never bond etc.
Thats why im not that impressed with tikkas T3s. They usualy have zero features and usualt horrible stocks(Polymer etc)

Probably, or just shooting PPU.I have 3 303 brit rifles myself and there's little gains to be had from handloading VS shooting the PP FMJ's TBH,rifle dependent but id say no more than 0.3moa at best.I take it you're American and 303 is harder to get that in places like the UK(im assuming) or here in Australia where 303's are rather common (its un Australian to not at least have one SMLE!) so ammo is seriously nearly as common as say 22lr or 308. Dont try finding bloody 7.62x39 though, fark me its hard to come by!

in terms for the general military, yes the bolt action is most likely obsolete, but for the legally armed citizen 'behind ememy' lines state / country it is not ! and a highly trained one using a bolt action will be effective !
@@geezerp1982 All that means is that the australian man was quite a bit better than quite a few people, but I bet he would have done a lot better with a semi-auto. Semi-auto rifles offer an advantage in any timed shooting situation, not just for "mag dumping" or speed shooting, because they reduce the number of operations and shot-to-shot variability in cheek weld, sight picture, etc.

What are rules when traveling across international ( in Europe) borders whilst transporting firearms? I'm assuming it's different traveling through EU coutries.
i'll do a video on it, but for sports shooters or hunters you need a European Firearms Pass and an invitation letter to the event you're attending. How many firearms you can transport depends on the country. Must be declared on entering / leaving EU customs area (although most people are unaware of this and don't bother), and you need a Visitor's Permit for the UK.

Good shooting! Great match. I was watching you and I would like to encourage you to learn how to shoot with your sling as a helpful stabilizer. As a former gun dealer, avid hunter and former Master at Arms and other titles, I will tell you unless you are using a bipod or other mechanical means of support you cannot shoot as consistently without a sling as you can using a sling. When you get your sling wrapped around your elbow and wrist and it applies pressure to the back of your stock supporting hand it will feel like the gun is a part of your body and it will not move unless you want it to. I see however when you are shooting in a sitting position, which is one of the best positions to make use of a sling, your ankles are not locked into your calves of your legs either. Try getting in a seated position and place the top of at least one of your feet against your calf of the opposite leg, right handed you should use your right foot against your left calf and pull your other leg up as your adjustment leg. The foot against your calf will be your resting point for your elbow with the sling wrapped tightly. Also, next time you are in a prone position make absolutely sure that your right leg and the barrel of the gun are as straight as you can get it pointing straight at the target. Hope these observations will help. By the way the sling that you have fitted to that rifle is exactly the width needed to start using it as a stabilizer. They knew what they were doing when they put that sling on that rifle. And whether you do not see that a sling could have helped you in what you call snap shooting, it is just a matter of taking instructions and being willing to learn that it indeed will make a difference in any way you shoot. See 12:37 for a good example of what is called the "Estonian Position". Which I learned from a Scotland and GB International Target Rifle shooter when I was 13.

You'll also note that in ISSF/Olympic style rifle shooting they don't use them standing either (although they do the "elbow on hip" position which is inappropriate for this kind of shooting and for rifles this light).

Tell me, how many times have you shot a Queen's 1 course of fire clean in competition over all 3 ranges? Shot a 2 and 10 target rifle course of fire at 1000 yds clean in competition? Won a major competition? There's 2 examples of me winning serious bolt-action service rifle comps on this very channel, one of which was fired the day before this video was filmed.
