  • Hi Friends! We're almost to the end of our pantry challenge and I am out of laundry detergent! While it isn’t a pantry item, you can make it using three common household ingredients and be happy knowing that you are safe from dyes, harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances.
    God Bless, Cordelia Creek 💕

This is so awesome! I really need to make some homemade detergent! We absolutely do not like any chemicals in our laundry!💖

@@overeasyacres Oh yea! Right now we use Nellie's Laundry Soda. It's really good, but nothing like making your own homemade stuff I'm sure!💕

Grinding up a bar of soap doesn’t really work because it creates soap scum in your washing machine and your clothes start to get dingy, and your towels you will find don’t absorb moisture anymore.

I’ve heard of this complaint before but I haven’t found it to be true personally. Try putting vinegar in your second rinse. I hope that helps!

that's partly why the addition of Washing booster and borax is important.

Washing soda is a little different than plain soda.

You’re right! I was thinking it wasn’t when I posted this but I stand corrected. Thank you!

Will the powder dissolve in a front loading He washer with cold water. I have been experimenting with homemade laundry soap. Going to try a dry power mix and see if it works better than my liquid mix. I was thinking 4 cups super washing soda, 4 cups baking soda, 2 cups non iodized salt, 3 cups oxyclean, 4 cups borax, 4 bars grated zote, 2 cups Epsom salts. I would use a sealed container with some silica packets to prevent clumping. My nephews wife Mindy looks exactly like you to a tee.

I haven’t tried it with a front loader, but your mix sounds like it will definitely leave your clothes fresh and clean! Let me know how it goes! How fun that my doppelgänger has been found 🤩

do you still make and use this? have you changed it any? has it messed up your washer or pipes?

I still use this! I haven’t noticed any problems with my washer (or pipes).

Baking soda & washing soda are NOT the same thing. Washing soda is sodium carbonate; baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. For laundry you should use washing soda.

Yes, thank you for clarifying! I was not correct in my video but have since fixed my ways 💗
