Haha, mine broke after a month on the same side, then it stripped my LCD cable. I still have not found the part number for the LCD cable to this model. Nice video!
Aye, I just repaired it. The laptop holds up fairly well aside from the screen. Although the fact that we cannot access the bios from an external monitor is a pain.
Going to try this myself- thanks for the advice! One question- I've put off the repairs for a while, so the inside is pretty damaged. The mounts that are meant to keep the cables inside are broken and the cable attached to the webcam is frayed. Do you have any tips on fixing the mount/replacing the webcam cable? Thanks!
@@bag2963 I've heard a lot of people have troubles with it. It's something like the screws are too tight, so the hinges end up giving way. If that happens, you'll hear a snapping sound from inside the laptop. I should have sent it in for repairs when it was still under warranty. This is from a model from a few years ago though, it might not be a problem for newer models. It might help to ask on reddit for tips on if you should buy it. There's a subreddit called r/GamingLaptops for this sort of thing.
Got it. Also my screen is flickering so if i glue the hinge to my back cover now, in the future could i replace the screen and the cable without removing the glue?

:( bad design
Warranty product defect. Some credit cards provide 90/120 day accidental damage as well.

Having the same problem. Did you order for a hinge replacement online
@@ItsBinhRepaired Are the hinges unreliable? Should i not buy it because of that?
Nice video, hope your bruises have fully healed.
They are scarred, but healed.
I just opened up my Predator Helios, same problem with yours but both sides. Wish me luck!
@@abasiakanhanson hope it goes well!
From your video, I observe that your LCD hinge broke just before the point where you jb-welded
You didn't need to fix that part?
@@abasiakanhanson which part?

I just jbweld it in place. The wires will need to be replaced.
No tips other than make sure to do the battery power drain.

Yup
ayee milpitas ! bay area brother. Im thinking of using some epoxy two part mix to put it together
Make sure to use jb weld the original type. I don't know any other type strong enough.
Hello Binh, is it more firm if i use the screw to attach the hinge and screen cover instead of the epoxy glue, thank you.
The jbweld is more firm.
@@ItsBinhRepaired thank you, I will try it.
@@ngoduc4510 make sure to be careful and follow the instructions in the video.

If you're careful with it

Possibly
My laptop front cover got busted and it keeps ripping the front frame when you open it not sure what to do
Sounds like the hinge mounts are broken.
@@ItsBinhRepaired the front cover is dented a repair place is telling me to pay 450 to fix it
@@shinieye I'd have to see it

What part are you not able to see? O.o
Need to fix my screen but this was really difficult to watch (no offense) Perhaps do a new version some time in the future?
Hinge repair or screen only?
@@ItsBinhRepaired I'm cool; watched a different one, went just fine. Thanks.
