- This is such a unique and rare piece. The Javelin was the only Muscle Car produced by American Motor company. Powered by a 40ci motor it really scoots. It will melt both tires when you lay the hammer down. The overall condition of this piece is very nice. We are very excited to offer this AMC to the public. This is a solid original sheet metal car. My first car was this a 73 Javelin. Light green .. I loved it.. this one in the video is gorgeous n who ever owned it took amazing care of it.. almost flawless condition.. GOOD LUCK with it!! God Bless!!
I have owned my 1973 Javelin AMX 401 GoPak 4spd since 1981. Will never sell it. Rebuilt engine has aboiut 230 mi on it in 15 yrs. Is about 97% complete. Get comments on it everywhere I go.
Back in 1989 when we were 13 years old my buddy's dad bought a 1974 Javelin out of a junkyard for $2,500 and he helped us totally restore it it was a great car I still love them just thought I'd share that thanks
I like the first gen 1968 to 1970 so much better. Less emission controls higher compression and they ran stronger. I am 71 so I drove them when they were new.
Looking at the comments make me envy all of ya. I wish a have a 1973 javelin they looks so clean and beautifully and hope one day i can buy.
Dick Teague did some great designs
for AMC.
Mark Donahue won a couple of
Trans Am Championships with
the Javelin. I would love to own
this beautiful Green Machine !!!
Gorgeous!
Never since a car like this nice car 🚗, just seen one on Adam 12,an I love old school 60-70 cars, first time seeing one like this love it
Freakin’ killer, man!! Awesome!! My older sis Jeannie had one of these and I used to beg her to take me for a spin and light up the tires!! :) JV Johnny
I WANT IT!!! 945 IS LIKE TAMPA? FT MYERS??? GIMMIE!!!
That is one mean green machine there
Damn right
I will usually see a Rolls Royce before I ever see a Javelin! I had a '74 Javelin when I was a young teen. I let my older brother take it one night and wrecked it.
I’ve learned the hard way that you should never let your siblings drive your cars…
He did it on purpose.
@@donaldblankenship8057 No, he was drunk and was with his lady.
Excellent paint job...now that its got a million fingerprints on it. Minty if its from Canada.
You will regret selling that cucumber!! One of the coolest cars still out there that puts out and draws a crowd at the local car shows oh ya and it will take on most other period cars no problem.
❤❤❤❤❤
Very awesome, buy it & BUCKLE UP, NJOY.
Excelente
It doesn't look like a Chevrolet or Corvette it looks better.
I guess you have sold it by this time , I love AMC,I owned a Gremlin for 10 years, I went to Pikesville North Carolina to see the AMC dealership frozen in time . Bobby Collier owner is a great fellowbut he did not have what I was looking for.
ronvk100 yes, she sold in a few days. It went to a great guy local to us!
I had a '73 with a 360. First car. It was a rustbucket.
@@WPGinterceptor460Interceptor Not really.
I bought a 1972 new in this same color.
Damn.
I bought a 1972 new in the same color.
Hehe. Upper rad hose is on upside down.
It's nice but that green interior..... wouldn't be my first choice....
Only the AMX had the spoiler.
Yep...the dash is not an AMX.
You could Order them ,if You Special Ordered Car,Or Order them from Dealer.& Very Few SST s had a 401,So this was More likely than Not,was a Special Ordered Car
@@edcain3676 They made 386 non AMX Javelins with the 401. Or it could be a transplant?
Imperfection #2 --- Rocker Panel Chrome does not fit tight to the bottom left front fender.
Pluck those hairs out of your nose and ears.
I admit the car looks great and seems to drive very well but it is scary why is the original motor gone and you don't know what that came out of or what year you have to question if I don't have 55000 miles and the body was great like it was garage why the new paint job I'm afraid there's a lot of scary things hiding underneath that car but it's hard to say
Also there's an AMX wing on it but the tags on the fenders near the blinkers for the AMX package are missing... Suspicious
It's cherry.
Never close a hood like that. Always drop it from 10"
Please..... This car is old steel. This is the best way to close it.
You're supposed to gently hold the hood up then jack the front end up until they click.
In the early 70s, the Javelin impressed me more than any other car. It had a wrap-around dash for the driver and a ton of room for the passenger. Then Renault took over the company and there went quality out the door. The Ford Mustang was a total piece of crap. The gas tanks blew up. Mel Brooks even had Nazis blow up from a rear gas tank explosion in one comedy. It really wasn't funny. Ppl were burning to death by the thousands in Fords. If you wanted to assassinate your wife in flames, just buy her a 73 Mustang. Cameros would rust out on your foot at the dealer, and the doors would hang off. Chrysler was coming back though. Lee Iacocca who had been with Ford during the great mid 60s days of the Mustang saved Chrysler in the 70s.
The rear seats are not original, reupholstered.
"way better that what AMC produced back then?" .... what the fuck would he know ? He wasn't even born when this car was made !!! Love the car, but it's gone thru a half-assed "resto" and missing the 401 fender emblems !!
Yeah, I caught that too.
Have another beer Joey.
Dude it's an engine not a motor. Maybe your lectric car has a motor?
Is the magazine "Motor Trend" all about electric cars?
Tell that to Motor Week, dude.
Hot, not 'cool'. God.. 23🇺🇲
