  • This is such a unique and rare piece. The Javelin was the only Muscle Car produced by American Motor company. Powered by a 40ci motor it really scoots. It will melt both tires when you lay the hammer down. The overall condition of this piece is very nice. We are very excited to offer this AMC to the public. This is a solid original sheet metal car. Back in 1989 when we were 13 years old my buddy's dad bought a 1974 Javelin out of a junkyard for $2,500 and he helped us totally restore it it was a great car I still love them just thought I'd share that thanks

I like the first gen 1968 to 1970 so much better. Less emission controls higher compression and they ran stronger. I am 71 so I drove them when they were new.

Dick Teague did some great designs
    for AMC.
Mark Donahue won a couple of
    Trans Am Championships with
the Javelin. I would love to own
    this beautiful Green Machine !!!

I will usually see a Rolls Royce before I ever see a Javelin! I had a '74 Javelin when I was a young teen. I let my older brother take it one night and wrecked it.

You will regret selling that cucumber!! One of the coolest cars still out there that puts out and draws a crowd at the local car shows oh ya and it will take on most other period cars no problem.

I guess you have sold it by this time , I love AMC,I owned a Gremlin for 10 years, I went to Pikesville North Carolina to see the AMC dealership frozen in time . Bobby Collier owner is a great fellowbut he did not have what I was looking for.

Imperfection #2 --- Rocker Panel Chrome does not fit tight to the bottom left front fender.

I admit the car looks great and seems to drive very well but it is scary why is the original motor gone and you don't know what that came out of or what year you have to question if I don't have 55000 miles and the body was great like it was garage why the new paint job I'm afraid there's a lot of scary things hiding underneath that car but it's hard to say

Also there's an AMX wing on it but the tags on the fenders near the blinkers for the AMX package are missing... Suspicious

Never close a hood like that. Always drop it from 10"

In the early 70s, the Javelin impressed me more than any other car. It had a wrap-around dash for the driver and a ton of room for the passenger. Then Renault took over the company and there went quality out the door. The Ford Mustang was a total piece of crap. The gas tanks blew up. Mel Brooks even had Nazis blow up from a rear gas tank explosion in one comedy. It really wasn't funny. Ppl were burning to death by the thousands in Fords. If you wanted to assassinate your wife in flames, just buy her a 73 Mustang. Cameros would rust out on your foot at the dealer, and the doors would hang off. Chrysler was coming back though. Lee Iacocca who had been with Ford during the great mid 60s days of the Mustang saved Chrysler in the 70s.

"way better that what AMC produced back then?" .... what the fuck would he know ? He wasn't even born when this car was made !!! Love the car, but it's gone thru a half-assed "resto" and missing the 401 fender emblems !!
