Did this a while back for mine. Once I figured out how to get the plates off my console, everything went smoothly. This is a great tutorial for anyone looking to upgrade.
Thanks for the guide. I followed your recommendations and your instructions and I had a new 2TB drive in my PS5. Thanks a bunch, keep up the great video content.
OMG! You have your Master's of Engineering too? (j/k... but the people complaining about it are kind of ridiculous.) I've done this with my original digital PS5, and moved the drive to my disc PS5 when I swapped up to it.
Thank you for showing and explaining how this will work and perform on my PS5. I just bought it literally 4 mins ago after watching this video. Now I have a question The only question I have is transferring my data from the PS5 to the SSD now. Is that easy to do?
Purchased and on it way to me. Been debating on what to do about my Ps5 hard drive. COD just takes up so much space. This video answered all my questions.
Unfortunately it didn’t work…. No clue why. It’s not complicated to install so I don’t feel like I did anything wrong. Guessing I got a faulty one.🤷♂️😞
Thank you for your help. Once I was able to get the screws off it was pretty easy. It took me a little bit to figure out how to slide in the hard drive because of how thin the area is. This was the 1st time I have ever done something like this in the way of putting in something in something else that is worth a lot and not wanting to screw it up. Hope you are having a great day.
@@TrishaHershberger You're correct. Any DLC/Updates will go where the rest of the files live for the game. Each game basically gets its own partition on the disc, and updates/DLC are dropped into the game's partition, IIRC.
Is there any thermal pasting or thermal pads I should/need to install? I have a PS5 Slim Spider-man Bundle Disc edition and Lexar NM800 PRO with Heatsink
Thanks for watching friends - hope you enjoy!
why is the nm800 slower than the cheaper nm790?

Awesome!! I just did this the other day with the PS brand SSD!

that Jessica Rabbit statue is so cool
That…looked incredibly easy. I was expecting a bit more unscrewing. Now I need to look at prices.
You can get the same 1TB drive I have for under $100 right now 👍
Awesome guide! Always wanted to be ready for storage expansion now more PS5 titles are coming out
Right? That's where I was at too
Just finished getting my SSD installed. The cover was trickier to get off than I anticipated, but everything else went smoothly.
What happens to the spacer? I got the lexar NM790 but the spacer doesn't fit in

Awesome video. Does this SSD recommendation extend to the Lexar NM790?
Thanks in advance.
And here I was just going to plug in my Seagate. Thanks for the info Trisha.
Any time!
I love how your hair highlights match your RGB fans on your PC case.
Thank you! It's more upkeep than I'd like but I like matching my pc 😂
Perfect timing! This model is on sale for prime day. I made sure to use your link too. Thanks, Trisha!

COD is massive lol

Hey. is lexar nm790 4tb good for ps5?
i have the 2TB NM790 and runs flawless on PS5.
i had always been scared to open my PS5 since im not a tech person, but thanks to you i can see how easy it is, thanks Trisha for the video. 😁👍
You're welcome 😊
Unfortunately, I only have a PS4, but this is still helpful if I ever upgrade 😊
Where was this video when I upgraded mine 3 months ago
Now all I need is a PS5 :P
What about DLC and/or updates for a PS5 game where we have the physical disk? Can those live on an external SSD or are they internal only too?
Any files needed to run a PS5 game will need to be stored internally - including DLC/updates afaik
