I never get tired to learn about the past,this is one that make me think how capable the past were.Their logic is fascinating and captivating leaving one in awe. Respect to all the crew for presenting to the present such treasure the past can provide.
What a great documentary! Genuinely filled me with a sense of awe and fascination. Respect to all the archaeologists, climbers and scientist involved. I hope their investigations progress further and open up more secrets.
Early on in this doc they contrast the burial practices of the Bo and the Han stating the Han burials were/are in a ground-based tomb in a high place overlooking the living based on a belief that this will bring prosperity to those living below. They contrasted this with the Bo practices, missing the similarity of the hanging coffins also being in a high place overlooking the living. The interviews with the supposed Bo descendants confirmed that the Han and the Bo burial practices originally had more in common as far as bringing prosperity to the living; unfortunately the Bo descendants changed their views to be aligned with the fact of being decimated - the hanging coffins did not, and do not, bring prosperity. Instead they adopted the in-ground burial practices of their conquerors. Very interesting doc.

Impressive and interesting and sad. I wish they would have worn gloves, though, when picking up the bones - contemporary contmination makes reliable DNA analysis so much more difficult.

Lol, stories like that are fun for the imagination, but it just underestimates our human ancestors from past time periods. In fact, the Igorot tribe in Sagada, in the northern Philippines, they still do this with their deceased. They're very open about the tradition, & value their culture. Under Emperor Ming's rule, China controlled the trade routes in the northern Philippines. My guess, is that Igorot learned this from the Bo, or other Chinese that followed the tradition. The Igorot also use natural caves, because they continue to add hanging coffins to the mountain sides.
